Amazing quiet Sandy beach. Well worth the 1 1/2 mile walk along the zigzagging path to get there. No amenities (toilets, ice creams etc.) so will need to take your supplies. Great if you want a relaxed day on the beach. Beware though. Managed to get sunburnt even though it was a bit overcast and windy. 😬😂

One of the tidiest parks there is. The place is spotless. Deer and other wildlife everywhere on the park. The car park costs 5 pounds for the day. There is a cafe and a gift shop and large lake there. Lovely walk or cycle paths.

What a beautiful place for a walk, or a spot of birdwatching! Dog friendly, and a lovely little platform above the beach to admire the view. After rain, it gets VERY muddy between the top of the beach and the dunes, so bring boots or wellies. There’s a cafe and toilets at the entrance, at the Lookout, but these are not 24/7. Would love a few more dog poo bins along the paths, though there are some benches. The car park had plenty of spaces, but quite muddy in the rain. If the weather is poor, the overflow car park will be flooded, so you may struggle to find parking. Recommend going mid week. There are paths along the tree line which are pretty mud free, and offer beautiful views out towards the dunes, and mud flats with plenty of bird life to watch on the reserves behind the trees. A great place for a walk with the dog as very dog friendly.

Great day out on our Norfolk Week long tour. Nice to have the facilities at Lady Anne's Drive now! Shorelarks and Snow Buntings the highlights with White-fronted, Egyptian, Greylag, Canada, Brent and Pink-footed Goose also.

This is the biggest beach I have ever seen and definitely worth a visit. Entry is through the Holkham Estate and a small car park serves the whole beach - Gets pretty busy but not chaotic. After the car park you cross a forest and then see the huge sand esplanade, from enterin the beach its about a 25 minute walk to the sea! We took a walk through the beach to Wells on Sea (about 1h), where we had some excellent fish and chips! Because we went at low tide we were able to walk on the wet sand which is more firm - At high tide we'd have to wade through the deep sand which would have doubled the effort!

loved our visit to holkham national nature reserve. the beach was stunning but the walk back through the pine trees was so beautiful as well. there were loads of little toads on the path and it took us ages to walk back as we didn't want to step on any. we also saw many buzzards near the fringes of the forest, some lapwings, and oystercatchers on the beach.

Staying on pinewoods site with motorhome..beautiful place and staff in the various eating places and shops are extremely good friendly and professional And the new look out cafe is awesome and lovely sandwiches with a good amount of filling which does not always happen with take out food...we're blessed x

Easily one of the best beaches in the UK. The walk from the car park is worth it. Parking is £10 for the day, which you can also use to visit Holkham Hall if you wanted to. The small walk through the pine forests is lovely before seeing the vast and open sands. The waves were really good when we visited, had some fun with them! There is so much beach here you can easily find a quiet spot to setup for the day.

We reached this marsh front setting on foot, from our Great Wood camp site at the nearby Grove Farm. You have to do a little work with your map, as there is not a continuous flow of public footpaths to reach the marshes and coastline. As well as short bursts of road walking too. However, you are rewarded with very few other walkers and some marvellous country side too. The vista of sea birds and wind turbines on the horizon is worth it...

A beautiful and peaceful beach, lots of birds, good walks and handy parking. On the walk to the beach there is a building with cafe, toilets and information.

Possibly one of the best if not the best beaches in the UK. Beautifully situated within a protected nature reserve. It is a bit of a walk from the carpark but worth it. The sea is shallow for miles, so it makes the perfect location to go for a swim.

Beautiful beach, so much space when the tide is out that we hardly saw any other people. Walked the dogs for miles and we could have gone on for many more if we didn't have any time constraints. Loved this place and we will be back.

Definitely one of my favourite beaches to visit! You just can't beat it! Our dog (and kids) love it! A short walk from the car park, made easier by discovering a path that goes from the carpark to the bit of beach we love the most. Would thoroughly recommend a visit!

A wonderful walk with so much to see. Endless views - salt marshes, forest, dunes and beach. Beautiful.

This is a very quiet, peaceful place. There is plenty of parking but this place is very popular. There is also a cafe and toilets. The parking fees were reasonable

Absolutely stunning place. Beautiful and huge sand beach. Be careful when you swim here do. There was a strong current when we have been there. Beach has a sign that's its not allowed for dogs but there is so many dogs anyway.

Absolutely loved Holkham Beach! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Norfolk. We visited on Tuesday when the weather was so beautiful; golden sand and the dark blue sea... I can see why it's one of the UK's faves 😍... don't forget to get your feet in the water while the weather is still hot!!! Also, if you're driving to the beach, there is a nearby car park called 'Lady Anne's Drive' where if you choose to buy an All Day ticket, you can use the same parking ticket to access Holkham Park 😊

Superb beach and woodland. Worth every penny of the parking charge. I loved it so much we went back twice (during a week holiday in Norfolk)

Absolutely amazing beach, soft sand, amazing views, it's perfect for families and everyone who loves the ocean 💙 It's definitely the most beautiful beach from Norfolk area.

For open sands wide and stretching off, with a forest backdrop and the classic beach hut, this is a hidden gem.

Our favorite beach, the whole family loves it. Especially the dog 🐶

Lovely grounds and , if open the inside of the house is a must see. Only downside was the number of dogs in the surrounding area especially Wells next the sea. Absolutely full of them, and I am not sure which is worse, the dogs or their owners who don’t seem to be able to control them(the dogs that is). The whole area has in the last few years been spoilt by the number of dogs. The shops, pubs have “Dogs welcome” signs which is fine if you don’t mind then barking and sniffing you while their owners just smile

This is a good place to visit to appreciate the wildlife on the reserve although we found the dogs running around on the beach disturbed the wildlife. The parking is expensive but does get very busy! There is now a Lookout at the end of Lady Anne's Drive that has information about the area and also toilets and a small café area.

Beautiful beach, but be prepared for a VERY long walk down to the shoreline.

  • 5/5 Candice B. 2 years ago on Google
Immense as always. The walk from wells to holkham is great along beach or through woods. Good parking at Wells with care, toilets etc.

Large car park and a lovely walk down to the vast beach through a pine forest. A lovely beach which is safe for the whole family. Popular place for horses and it was nice seeing them ride along the beach and splashing around. Could do with more toilets near the car park as these were very busy. Clean and additional toilets and the place would have 5 stars
