Beautiful peaceful place. Visited to make my peace and be close to God. Came away feeling very satisfied Took prayers here too. Amazing and very pious church. Travelled 200 miles to be there and the trip was worth every mile. Probably one of the most relaxing and calming places I've visited anywhere in the world. A must visit however religious you are or not as maybe, as such a beautiful and spiritual old church dating from 1067. Find your peace and God bless you all.... 😌

I write this in the hope of helping pilgrims and travellers. The shrine is beautiful. But stay elsewhere. If like us you are walking from Norwich I strongly recommend arrange to stay somewhere else nearby, get settled, then finish your walk to the shrine. The accomodation experience here was extremely unwelcoming and testing. If you are interested in detail: it was hard to find reception. When we did, we were sent to our room via a route back out on the street (unnecessarily) and got there to find it not ready. It was after 5pm and we were exhausted but were told by overworked, understaffed cleaning staff that we and our bags must leave and it would be "at least an hour". We went back to reception where we were high-handedly told to ignore that advice and return after 10 to 15 mins. Still trudging around with our bags we did this, to find a sharp suited gentleman nagging the cleaners but still no room at the inn! Another similar wait later we were finally allowed in. Same suited person (who never introduced themself) did the classic "I heard you were upset' - feeling like he blamed us - and in short told us we had been wrong to follow the advice and he "had been going to reallocate us but we seemed fine now". There was an apology of the "I'm sorry you're upset" variety but no acknowledgement that anything could have been done better. A shame he didn't make that semi-offer of reallocation the first time he saw us, though of course really it's shocking that reception didn't at the first instance. The overall experience left us feeling that the cleaners are treated in a very unChristian way, and that the accommodation is only really designed for coach parties. £130 for a shared bathroom is a bit much but we at least expected a welcome. Also there was no vegetarian food available. On check out there was no opportunity to give feedback. Very disappointing.

I have never been anywhere like this before and after visiting the Abbey I was a bit nervous about visiting as I didn't really know what was going on! However, it was welcoming and peaceful. Interesting and very well kept grounds, I felt welcome even though I wasn't visiting for religious reasons. The cafe was brilliant with great value meals and gluten free offerings too. Very clean toilets. I would definitely revisit. Thank you!

What a beautiful, peaceful and spiritual place. Beautifully kept, wonderfully ornate in parts and a perfect place to pause and reflect. There is a very serene atmosphere and plenty to take in, whether you have a Christian faith or not. It reminded me of some monasteries and churches in parts of Italy and France but haven't seen anything quite the same here in the UK.

A very peaceful holy place. I felt so good to have been there from Kent. Eveyone was so friendly. There was a small cafe called Norton at the church and the food was delicious.

"All who seek me here will find succour" The words of Our Lady the Blessed Virgin Mary to Richeldis de Faverches in a vision whilst asking her to build a replica of the simple House of the Annunciation in Norfolk . This is an Anglican Shrine and was built in 1938 and was designed by architect Romiley Craze who is also responsible for the rebuilding of St Georges Cathedral Southwark after WW11 . The original Shrine was destroyed in 1538 by Henry V111 but before this the site had become a very important pilgrimage site . This Shrine is Fantastic unfortunately my photography a bit naff which far from does it justice . I am alas still awaiting my Divine intervention . But anybody inspired needs to visit to get just how great this place is . At the centre of the Church there is a replica of the House of the Annunciation which sent chills down my spine , it is rather dark with candles around the walls and prayers left by pilgrims it is beautiful and peaceful and Certainly made me contemplate all sorts of things a masterpiece in my humble opinion. It is surrounded by quite a few smaller Chapels dedicated to various Saints and Kings including St Hugh and St Patrick , Edward the Confessor and Edward 1 , St Helena and St Hilary and more . All spectacularly presented in a Byzantine style . There is a Holy Well the waters of which are said to have healed many people . Atomb of Geoffrey de Clinton who founded Kenilworth Castle and Priory as well as Chancellor of England to Henry 1 . The gardens are beautiful the village nothing other than picturesque . I have posted quite a few photos for those who may be unable to visit , again please excuse the quality . Those of you who can really should or miss out on a real treat .

Peacefully snowdrop walk. It was lovely to walk around in the grounds. Dog friendly but must be kept on a lead. Small entrance fee.

A very peaceful location. I have been here many times and found an inner peace that is difficult to find anywhere else. It was a shame that the weather was so wet. But this gives me a reason to return.

The energy, the people, the beautiful buildings. The calming nature of the entire area was lovely. There was a pilgrimage on at the time I went and I found it only added to the experience, there was almost nowhere I couldn’t go and the staff were so accommodating. Would recommend for anyone

A beautiful and calm place .... there is no hurry to do, just space to just be and partake in the services and general atmosphere here. Just returned from pilgrimage here, and looking forward to returning.

I've never been to a shrine before, I was wary as to what I'd find, it was much better than I'd imagined. A lovely, spiritual, spacious, calm and relaxing building. You are left alone to wander around, pray or just sit and take in the surroundings. I'm glad I came You can park close by, in the road, just over the small bridge (no yellow lines)

A most holy place where one can commune with God through the intercession of the Blessed Lady.
