My family visited today and were extremely disappointed with the quality of their daughter’s children’s meal The one slice of bread with half a slice of ham and a few Doritos supplied is neither nutritionally adequate nor of an appropriate portion size. The cost of this ‘meal’ was £5.00. Whilst understanding the rise in costs and expenses, we all feel that the elements of this inadequate meal require review. This was also not including a drink! Not best pleased. There was a wait time of 45mins aswell. WiFi wasn't working either.

Great lunch with the grandchildren. I've knocked off a star because they had no macaroni or fish fingers left. So had to pick something else. So the kids had pork sausage and I had the big bird burger. These meals were lovely tho. Definitely a place to go back to for us.

Nice cosy place to chill and relax with a coffee! My wife and i had a full breakfast, (spot on very tasty) i asked for a Mocha that wasn't on the menu lovely lady still came up with the goods! missing 2 sausages on my plate and i didn't even notice another lovely lady who works there pointed it out and very quickly rectified it!! It started to get very busy around 12ish so be there before then if you are one of these people who don't have patience for others and the world revolves around you! We will be visiting again. 🙂

As a family tradition myself and my sisters book an afternoon tea, as a Christmas gift to ourselves. As we were busy leading up to Christmas we decided to book for the 6th January. I started ringing a couple of weeks before Christmas, I emailed them, even messaged via Facebook, still waiting for a response to this , one of my sisters did the same and still no response. We really did want to go here, as I had been last year and it was lovely. We decided to call back after new year, but agreed to go on 13th January which is one of my sister's birthdays. I called on 2nd January, imagine my surprise when someone answered. I spoke to a gentleman , and arranged a booking for 13th Jan 1pm.afternoon tea for 3. He took my number and that was it. 13th Jan we turned up to a busy Laing's, there didn't seem to be many staff, and there were people standing about. We waited out turn , and a lovely waitress asked if she could help, I knew immediately something was wrong when I said I had an afternoon tea booked . Another older lady then asked, they checked the diary, couldn't see my name, then the older lady said we don't do afternoon teas every Saturday and proceeded to tell me something about Thursday and every other Saturday. The website or Facebook page didn't say any of this. It was now very awkward, I asked if they even had a table and was told no. By now it was 1.30pm. I didn't want to cause a fuss, and spoil my sister's birthday. So I said the the to the young waitress, I appreciate this is not your fault, but I would like to speak to someone in charge, not now, and apologise to me and explain what had happened. She took my details , we ended up going elsewhere not for the lovely tea we had planned, but a nice lunch anyway. That evening I had two missed calls from a mobile number, I can only assume was Laings, but no message was left, and I haven't heard from them since. Such a shame. We were really looking forward to it.

Staying at Green Meadows Country Park and noticed this just along the road so decided to stop in. The food was delicious and serviced quickly. The lady who was serving us was so nice and welcoming. We even took some cakes away which were phenomenal!

Stopped in for a light lunch today (a Sunday). My husband had been here before on a Saturday and said the food was really good and the service friendly. It was busy, granted, but also understaffed. Seemed to be too few wait staff for the full restaurant and we waited quite a while for someone to take our order. I ordered a red pepper and cheese quiche (one of the day's specials) and my husband ordered a steak and onion baguette. My quiche wasn't warm all the way through and had no flavour to speak of. The side salad was a heap of lettuce, red onion rings, 3 cherry tomato halves and 2 strips of yellow pepper. Husband's baguette was also bland. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day. Can't fault the wait staff who were very friendly, but the food was honestly mediocre.

Food was good but disappointed with staff attitude when she had lost our reservation. Other staff were aware and made up for it though

First I'll say they did apologise and give us money off the bill. Overall not impressed and won't be back. Ordered a round of drinks and food, took 40 mins just for the drinks to come. When the drinks arrive, they weren't the ones we ordered. They were meant for another table. Another 10 mins passed, our order arrived but they didn't have any the J2O's we ordered it the correct beers. By this time we've been waiting 50 mins. After 65 ish mins our food arrived. One of our orders were stone cold which we sent back. All the staff were disinterested, all except one woman who really did try to rectify things. Chips were nice though.

Four of us visited today for lunch. We all enjoyed the food, my black coffee wasn't good. Service was friendly and good but the team could have done with another pair of hands and had to ask us to wait a few times. Cakes were fabulous. Excellent value

Exceedingly poor planning and service. Booked a table for two for Father’s Day. After battling to be shown to our seat - literally ignored by a staff member - our order was then taken after 30 minutes of waiting despite being told “I’ll be back in two”. The waitresses were few and far between and not easily visible to attract attention. We were then advised that there would be “at least an hour” wait. Clearly under staffed and lacked the capacity to fulfil their orders. A shame as this was previously a great establishment but my recommendation is to avoid on any day where it is likely to be a little busier than normal.

Had a lovely lunch here today, fish and chips, scampi and chips, and 2 delicious slices of bakewell tart. We were there for 12 noon and the service was great, and our waitress very friendly and helpful. Been before and it was good then. Keep up the good work.

Lovely staff who all work hard and are very customer focussed. We had wonderful service there today. Would suggest a review of the location of payment area. Where it is now causes a bottleneck for both staff and customers when you are busy and is in the close proximity of uncovered cakes.

Our first time here today after a recommendation. Happy to say we were delighted with our food and service. Im actually shocked at the quality of the food for the price. I wasn’t expecting it, more so the fact i live nearby and i had never been before. Outstanding food and service.

Went for a early lunch. Prices on the higher side but food was wonderful. I had a ploughman's platter, kids has chicken goujons and chips. Staff super friendly and great with the kids. Highly recommend.

Hope you haven't booked your Mother's Day afternoon tea here this weekend. My daughter booked for 3 of us to go on the 19th some weeks ago. She phoned up to ask a question on Tuesday only to be told we weren't booked in. They said they would call her back and no one has bothered and it's Thursday night. If you have booked I would phone and check. Imagine if we had got there to be told your not booked in. Very poor show Laing's of Harker.

Stopped for a break and a coffee and was surprised to find a terrific restaurant and cake shop. The gift shop was also nice, as was the ice cream and cake shop. Best of all was the lovely and helpful staff. Full marks all round.

I enjoyed my gluten free meal of chicken goujons although my first choice of baked potatoes were unavailable. It was 1pm and there seemed to be several dishes no longer available. The restaurant was very busy but our waitress was very friendly and apologetic. She made alternative suggestions when meals were no longer available. We moved from our original booked table as the table and chairs were very close together and we found it difficult to sit at the table. It seemed as though there were too many tables for the area. We picked a table in the conservatory and this was excellent. I have given the venue four stars because of the tables and meals which were no longer available.

My second visit today. The first time around was coffee and cake, which was fantastic. Today, with it being a jolly 1°C I opted for hot food. My Mac n Cheese was lovely but disappointingly tepid. My guest opted for the festive pie, turkey, stuffing, and cranberry with sweet potato fries and gravy. We had a pot of hot tea each, one builders, one Earl Grey. Wrap up warm as it can be drafty. If the smell of damp dogs puts you off your food, you need to be aware that dogs are allowed here. The staff were helpful, polite, and very busy. Booking is recommended, although we were able to get a table upon arrival. Suitable venue for persons who struggle with mobility as all on one level. Toilet facilities are good and clean. There is ample parking, but be careful of the potholes, especially if it's been raining as some are rather large and deep.

It's just a small coffee shop with a craft stall kind of shop. Very friendly and better than the big name plastic cup coffee sellers. Keep it local, buy off the small guys. Very welcoming and dog friendly

A fabulous wee find! A friendly, efficient place stop just off M6 Jn44. We had the Amriacan pancakes and the full English breakfast, each cooked to perfection.. the bacon was delicious! We'll certainly be back next time we are heading up or down the country.

Cold food, sent back, half was still cold but never came to ask if everything is ok. Seem to avoided us rest of the service, has to find someone to take out plates away and bring out dessert that was ordered. Not in rush to go again

Called in for an Ice Cream, order was 1 tub x rum & raisin £3.00 - 1 tub x vanilla with flake £3.50 Total = £6.50. It was for 1 x Scoop each which was more like she used a tea spoon Scoop the small tub was not even 1/4 full I could see the bottom of the tub when I asked the blonde haired young lady if that is all you get she replied with (well it is one Scoop) I felt she should be wearing a mask as I felt totally robbed. Will not be going back again. 😱😤

Great place to drop into just off the motorway but no traffic noise and dog friendly. It was very busy however we were given a table. Only ate a light lunch however it was served fairly quickly despite the amount of folk there. Very tasty. The choice on the menu was really good including Sunday roast. Staff were friendly, barn like decor, clean and tidy. Anywhere dog friendly is a good sign. Nice little shop on the side selling gifts and Xmas goods. Def will visit again
