2 days walking and cycling in Hawes to Castle Bolton area of Wenslydale. Quiet roads, villages, fabulous Dale walks and delicious Tea Rooms.

We had a walk around Bainbridge to day. We will definitely be going again. We didn't go on the Dales walk , just round the village and the green. The play area is marvelous for the kiddies, not just little ones, there is also a cafe, pub and a local butchers, and B n B. W parked on the perimeter of the Green, there is a donation box for the up keep of the Green which is done by volunteers.

Love place to be in. I really wish we had a longer time there. There were loads of holiday homes and also parking places for the camping.

Am unspoiled dales village where there is still PO and pubs. Unusually for me the pubs weren’t visited I was driving, instead The Stone Close Cafe was where we enjoyed a sandwich. The village has an excellent parking facility and toilets. Finally If you are an impatient driver don’t even think a about a cost so narrow are the roads.

God's own Country! There's no better description, because if you try just you run out of superlatives! We stayed at Keld in the North of the Dales travelling in from Scotch Corner past the Tan Inn, through winding countryside, with dramatic views that change every few hundred metres. Be aware that the roads can be very narrow with sheep wandering along without a care...its bloody lovely! We stayed in one of the many Bed and breakfasts but there are campsites and even Yurts if your looking for something different! We visited Ravenseat Farm, the setting for the much loved, UK Chanel 5, 'Our Yorkshire Farm,' and being big fans were delighted to find the family apparently unaffected by their celebrity status! They served Cream Teas and mingled, chatting to everyone! Many of the locals will tell you to visit Buttertub Pass but be warned its not for the faint hearted 😃 but you will be rewarded by magnificent views! Homeward bound we traveled Southward through the Dales, coming across the most beautiful little villages, which was far better than jumping straight on the motorway!

Gorgeous place to explore and drive down some beautiful green lanes. Sadly some of the locals take exception to 4x4 drivers and aren’t very welcoming.
