We went there about 2 years ago. It was nice but they didn't do a wine pairing with the tasting so it was a little disappointing. The food was good. However there was a slight altercation with the couple at the next table and the chef where he told them to leave. Very entertaining from our side but not very professional. Went for a 'masterclass' today in which they explained how each dish was made and we were able to ask questions throughout. After each course they then served us with what had juts been made. Very interesting and worth trying.

We had a great time! We had the best service we've ever received at East India Cafe. They were very friendly and attentive, we really appreciated the level of service. We had the tasting menu and thought the lamb and duck dishes were very good. The other dishes were ok, but not quite as exciting.

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious. Service went above and beyond and the value for money was excellent. I've eaten in some of the best Indian restaurants in London and this was on par with those experiences. I would come here again and again.

What a fantastic place to eat. Food was delicious and piping hot, the service was attentive without being overbearing and everything I saw outside of our tables order looked just as good as our food. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend trying this place out.

Such an amazing place and a unique experience off the beaten path in Cheltenham. More than just a restaurant.. feels like being welcomed into head chef Mijan's home for an authentic culinary journey. First class food and outstanding service. Highly recommended

A friend of ours recommended this place, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The staff are very friendly and add to the relaxing atmosphere. The service was over-and-above our expectations. The menu doesn't have a million confusing choices; what is offered is top quality, beautifully tasting, cooked-with-love, dishes. The wine and beer list is picked to complement the meals. This was, by far, the best Indian restaurant experience that I've ever had. 10/10!

Believe all the rave reviews, this was comfortably the best Indian food we have ever tasted, and some of the best food of any cuisine. From start to finish the experience was a delight, with exceptional food coupled with friendly and attentive staff. And to top it off, the cost was probably about half what you might pay for similar quality anywhere else Would recommend this to anyone visiting Cheltenham, or frankly passing anywhere even close!!

Lovely atmosphere - small and cosy with warm, low lighting. Expect to spend more but for an overall higher quality experience. The food is very impressive and tasty. Both the texture and taste was extremely good for all dishes I tried. There were fewer options than a typical Indian restaurant but everything I tasted was delicious. Small extras were provided between our courses which was a nice bonus. The staff were very attentive (and very polite) and it was very easy to get attention whenever we wanted. Very pleasant evening! Current parking restrictions are only up to 6pm so if driving here for dinner then there are lots of on street spaces available all down Montpellier street, for free.

What a fabulous place, can’t fault it. Second time here and had another delicious meal. Went for the £38 meal. All the meals were well presented, tasted good, service excellent. Well done guys.

We visited from London and this was, hands down, the best Indian restaurant experience we’ve had in the UK. Firstly the waiters are incredibly polite and helpful, just the right balance of checking in on you and leaving you to enjoy your meal. The food- simply INCREDIBLE. The menu states three courses but honestly you get so much more. The food just didn’t stop coming, everything including amuse-bouches, complimentary refreshment drinks, and palate cleansers, all in addition to the starters, mains, and desserts you choose. And all of which were exceptionally tasty, we couldn’t fault a single thing. They also have a good selection of vegetarian and halal options which was an added bonus. Honestly felt like a Michelin experience and definitely well worth the price. The atmosphere was beautiful: the low lighting and lovely decor lends itself to an enjoyable evening. This place would be great for a date night, a family dinner, or even a work dinner. The bathrooms were also very clean and smelt lovely. Can’t thank the staff enough and cannot wait to come back.

Food was awesome. Service was brilliant. They made our anniversary day special with on the house Champagne and a cake to celebrate.

Very impressed with both the food and service . Modest number of options, a good sign of fresh cooking and preparation in situ? Best Indian restaurant I have been to, despite unprepossessing entrance and location which looks like just the ground floor entry to a block of flats. Amuse bouche and sorbet ( both complimentary) were nice extra touches. Service attentive but unhurried . Will defintelybe back when next in Cheltenham Was quiet on a Sunday evening so slightly lacked ambience/ atmosphere for that reason only. Decor low key

Excellent lunch with nice delicate touches. Starting with home made lemon juice, then amuse bouche and delicious curry. If you want more rice or mini nan , just ask for more. We have been twice for lunch, unfairly quiet. Worth a visit.

Incredible service and incredible food. We were served all sorts of amazing food and many complimentary items. Worth every penny and would strongly recommend.

An excellent evening. God was superb. So tasty and the little extras added to the balance of the menu. Not a cheap option but really good for a special occasion or just a meal that's a bit more special. Has been on my list to visit for quite a while. So pleased we made it. Will definitely return! Michelin quality food and service without the hefty price tag!

Food was good but the service was lousy for large groups. Trouble was that some of the table members were allowed to have the tasting menu, and others weren't. So service didn't work. In the end we had to say we are leaving if the good doesn't come in the next ten minutes as some had a long drive home! Front of the house staff were not trained. Food was expensive and not value for money. There were 4 people not drinking on the table but the bill still came out at £69 per head.

Wonderful 2 course dinner. The railway lamb is superb. The Guinea fowl tikka masala fragrant and delicious. This is the best Indian food I’ve ever had.

They have a limited menu at lunch. My wife and I opted for the two courses. The food is exceptional. I guess this a more traditional experience. The two causes included extras including a mango sorbet palate cleanser. For the £25 per head Inc and none alcoholic drink I would definitely recommend. I had chicken and my wife had lamb (which melted in the mouth). If you get the opportunity, go.

A first class restaurant with absolutely delicious food and the loveliest of staff! We had the 3 course lunch and it was tasty from start (a perfect bite-size amuse bouche) to finish (coconut rice pudding) with a palate-cleanser between starter and main. Can't wait to go back!

what a lovely experience! Great service, fabulous food and we shall go back, when we have the opportunity to try the tasting menu!

Without shadow of a doubt the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten. Staff were fantastic. Would highly recommend the Beef Rezala.

Nowhere near as good as our first trip here a couple of years ago. Great service but the management have overpriced. It was nicely presented food but essentially the components of a standard curry dressed up into a tasting menu. Not bad tasting but I will always choose Prithvi in future for fine dining.

This is a unique restaurant that incorporates Indian and British influences into their dishes. Menu choice is limited, but every dish looks interesting and there is something for all tastes. The food is both well prepared and presented with great attention to detail. Service is highly professional and friendly. The surroundings are tasteful with generous table spacings. Prices are on the high side, but as always, you get what you pay for.

Very informative staff, exquisite cocktails and fabulous cocktails. I most definitely rate this as one of my favourite food experiences in the UK. Refined Indian food at it's best.

Four of us enjoyed a very nice meal. It's quite pricey and there are not a lot of choices for each course, but there are lots of little extras to enjoy and the service is very good. The only negative was when we came to order dessert one of the options we asked for was not available. The wine menu was ok and reasonably priced. There is parking at the rear.

Wow! Incredible food, amazing service, it was a quiet night so made our wedding anniversary special, free glass champagne and impromptu little cake and candle, fairly priced wine, best g&t I've ever had.

We went for the tasting menu and it was delicious! We had 7 courses from the vegetarian and meat tasting menu. The staff were really attentive, friendly and informative. Highly recommended for a special occasion or treat.

I booked this restaurant in advance of a trip to Cheltenham with my husband for our "mini-moon" as we wanted a special experience and booked in with their 8 course tasting menu. The food was amazing with each course offering different flavours and something that we wouldn't usually cook at home. I didn't take many photos as I wouldn't want to ruin the surprises for anyone else but we would both recommend this place. The dessert was a particular highlight (just when you think you can't eat any more). The staff were fantastic and we were served by 5 different people over the course of the evening and each one of them knew exactly what they were doing and which course we were supposed to be served next. A wonderful evening of indulgence.
