Lovely place to spend time with family and friends. Very spacious and beautiful scenic view all around. Also has ample parking space and £6 for whole day is very reasonable when compared to other venues. Cycle hire and aqua park are other attractions at the site. Hire a cycle and drive through the dam wall path along the woods is amazing. BBQ not allowed on site but that doesn’t deter the visitors as you can have a quality family time with loads of physical activities while admiring the beauty. Even the drive to the venue is wonderful due the location in Kent.

Well maintained place. It's picturesque and several water sports to play. Well maintained cafe and toilets and plenty of parking. However (I gave 4*s instead of 5) as they've introduced parking which is £5, which I feel too much (Edit April 2023 - Parking increased to £7 a day, just insane) They should have had £1 per hour, rather then £5 per day. It also has cycle rentals and it's helpful if you plan for 12 miles long trip Other than it, if has lot more to offer for one full day outing.

This is a great day out for one person or a group of people. There are loads of activities, from laser tag, cycling, walking, running, playground, wood exploring, to a few water activities. Parking is currently £7 for the whole day, and I would book any activity in advance. Highly recommend this Bewl Water for a lazy weekend! It is such a great day out!

A absolutely wonderful day out especially as the sun was shining. Friendly cafe over looking the water. You can do a 11 mile walk round or a shorter one, you can hire a bike , boat or canoe. Dog friendly. Highly recommend it for families or a couple to enjoy the silence. So much to see and hear.

What a lovely place to take the family out for the day, so many activities to do here. There are some picnic tables and benches scattered around, some of them under shade of trees, a bit hilly for oldies like me, a lovely, large clean cafe. Water boarding and sailing tuition. An aqua park and a large climbing frame and large climbing rocks for the children. A great place for dogs to walk or even swim. A large Carpark £6 for the day, the meters take coins and card payments.

We booked a weekend at the camping site to be able to do SUP without purchasing a membership. The lake is stunning, the place is beautiful. We were allowed to take the car near the water and launch our boards easily. Unfortunately the wind did not allow us to enjoy the activity and it lasted the whole weekend. Would be nice to be allowed to buy day passes independently from the camping so we could check the weather conditions on the day. We weren’t massive fans of the camping, the showers/toilets can improve and same goes for the cafe. We were unfortunate to have stayed close to a group of people who not only played really loud music but brought their cars to the area that is destined for tents only and left them running continuously for hours so they could play music loudly without draining the battery of the car. Twice we saw staff members coming to the site to show the pitches to new guests and they ignored the car, the noise, the rules. We could’ve said something but we felt it wouldn’t help the situation and it wasn’t our place to do so. These are all things that can improve and if they do we will definitely change our review to a 5 as the place is super special.

The venue was beautiful & the views.....oh my goodness! It truly was a Special Day & I highly recommend Bewl Water whatever the occasion, or just for somewhere to go with no special occasion!

Amazing scenery, lovely autum day great in November. Not many people, shocked after we had to pay £5 for two hours, really to much, spoilt our day. Also unable to sit inside cafe, staff were lovely though. There was so much space, even with covid around other coffee shops and pubs manage customers inside. We had travelled 40 miles to get here so the cost to park was to much. Linda Bialous

Bewl Water is an incredible place in east Sussex, and well worth the visit for anyone that has never been or visiting the area. The thing that made this place shine to me was the security guard. He was genuinely incredible he took my Bewl Water rating from a 3 to a 5!!! - he was so incredibly helpful. Wish I knew his name, but if you stay at Bewl water take the time to say hello and don't hesitate to ask for help! He found us a barbecue, torches, Lanterns when we had none He even went as far to look for hay fever tablets, and even offered to get me Ice when my drink was warm!!! Fantastic service from this guy!

Amazing place to spend a few days of camping. Picturesque walks around the lake, lots of water activities and staff is so so friendly and nice. Thank you for the camping chair Tracey, it did help after that cycling trip from London.

The best BIG dog walk out there. Arrive at 8am when it opens or prepare to wade through lots of small people/ families/ picnics. I’d say it’s 90% dogs off leads territory and if you get a pace on you can do it in 4hrs. It’s some parts shady, some parts open so defs bring a hat and sun cream on a sunny day.

Hidden gem near Goudhurst. Excellent for school camps or kids birthday parties. Beautiful place for a romantic picnic 😍 staff very friendly.

We stayed at the yurts for 2 nights to test out the more comfortable side of camping. We were not disappointed because they were lovely, very cosy and cute. However my 9 year old doesn't much like the whole sharing toilets with messy boys/people. A minor issue for us that we found amusing! The log burner was really lovely and easy to use, we got 3 fires out of our bundle. Three scenery is so beautiful and it felt pretty quiet while we were visiting, the noisiest part were the geese during the night around the lake which was also mildly amusing. We took a canoe out for a couple of hours and all got numb bums but it was really fun. In all a lovely place and staff were great, felt safe with the security guy around of an evening. We all had books to read during down time and it was so peaceful.

My 13 year old son went here with his scout Troop for a taster weekend. He had the best time ever, he loved the Paddle Boarding sailing and kayaking over the 3 days he was there. Had a lovely presentation and was awarded a few certificates. Would Highly Recommend x

Great fun today at the aqua park and laser tag. Not much in the way if food available but we are still dealing with covid. Definitely will return

Enjoyable visit. Unable to complete the full 12 mile walk round the lake as the dog was struggling with the heat and her age, but we enjoyed the first couple of miles before turning back. Covid-19 did limit the food options so it was a sandwich lunch. Parking at £5 for the day seems fair when you could easily spend the day here. I would be happy to visit again.

Couldn’t do a stand up board session as windy conditions , but enjoyed kayaking instead. Playground and forest were good. Will come back next summer

Nice views and cycling is also good with a good mix of surfaces. Gravel bike would eat it up. My only gripe would be that the signs are quite small on the route and the start wasn't well sign posted.

The loop around is soo scenic and just lovely, walking or riding! Stopped off at the toilets after the 13 mile walk and it seamed like they hadn't been cleaned all day.. a risky level of toilet roll was available and an all round hygiene level was fairly low. It would be nice to see a midway stop off, 6 hour's is a long way to wait when nature calls.

Beautifully clean and tidy. Unfortunately the cafe was closed so no opportunity to get a hot drink on a cold day.

Nice place for a walk. Parking was pretty expensive though

We went for a new year's walk here, for exercise. £5 to park seemed a bit steep, but I guess the fee can be qualified by someone?

Bewl was busy. Lots of people but didn't feel crowded. Cafe open for takeaway. Toilets open.

Bewl Water is our family favourite! We take our bikes and ride the 21km trail with the kids. One of us usually runs the trail alongside the bikes. It's a fantastic scenic, well-maintained trail with lots of great spots to stop for a picnic. I'd recommend going anti-clockwise then the hills on the short roughly 2 mile section feel easier. This section is road but not busy at all. We always meet friendly people working their way around the lake on foot or by bike. The parking is reasonable at £5 for the day. There is a good playground, toilets, cafe and other water-based activities. I'd highly recommend.

Great walks around the lake. The paths are a bit muddy but they have layed on large marquees so that you can gather 'outside' but under cover..... excellent!

Beautiful man-made lake/reservoir. Nice play area for all ages and plenty of information on what is available at the lake. We just came to enjoy the sunset so didn't go on any walks/rides but you can walk arpund the lake in a day or ride around it in a few hours. I think you can also rent a boat and go fishing. It was very well set out, we all loved it!

  • 5/5 Michal G. 3 years ago on Google
Great place for the whole family! Lots of space to run play games, big play park with a multi leveled wooden ship for the kids to play on. And the looping slide that everyone loves! Great place for the kids!
