This cafe is wonderful! The food is amazing, the owner is lovely, and the space is very welcoming and cute. I would highly recommend whether you’re vegan or not. The food is fresh and flavorful, and there are Scandinavian good for sale as well. If I lived in London, I would be here all the time.

Beautifiuly presented, innovative and delicious light meals and deli products, many with a Swedish twist. Tofish is high on my list of all time favourite things! Would enhance any busness lunch, reception, party or picnic. Rickard is one of the nicest and friendliest peopleyou could hope to meet and I hope his business prospers and grows

Not just for Vegans! I am a meat/fish eating foodie who care so much about food and services, and I have to say I am spoilt and my standard is hight living in London where we can find great stuff. Daun's Deli is definitely one of them. Rickard cares every little details not just the flavour, the look and health, he delivers beautiful dishes in many styles, canapes, party food, comfort food etc. He was based in South London but now in Hackney/Shoreditch I will try a lot more soon, but here are my favourite things Rickard cooked that I was lucky to have tried to date. Saffron Aioli (comes in a jar, very generously priced!) goes well with, well anything! Not Tuna Mayo (jack fruit) is my favourite and I prefer this to real tuna mayo! I have also tried his 2 different vegan cheesecakes (pistachio and almond, and tofu) both of which may not yet be availavle but I am telling you here, it is heavenly! Please bring it to your standard menu! I really didn't like vegan cheesecake, but this one... is just amazing.

Best vegan brunch I've had in London. Can't recommend the deal for the 3 (different) Smørrebrød enough. Especially the curry chicken one was just perfect. We were there when the place was understaffed due to NYE and still had a great time without any delays. The value for money was also incredibly good compared to other places.

The experience at Dauns was amazing. I was recommended by a friend to try Ricard's cooking before this branch opened. Finally, closer to me, I made the entrance on the Sunday just passed I had the Sunday roast (as it's always a pain to find a good one) and it DID NOT disappoint. I must say, this is THE BEST VEGAN ROAST DINNER hands down in London. I'm a real lover of a Yorkshire pudding but nobody can get them as I remember so I'm happy for this epic piece of Scandi food that Ricard put together . Everything complemented every very well, the potatoes (top tier), the parsnips, the sauce and let's not forget the horseradish cream! To die for! All in all 5/5 for this place, I don't score lightly. I will be visiting again, the whole menu looks incredible, especially the vegan roast and kimchi toastie!! Mmmmmm I'll be back! Thanks Ricard and the team!

DAUNS is the most lovely small Scandinavian Café, in Spitalfields. I used to live in Stockholm, so when I found out that a fully vegan scandi caf had opened in London, I absolutely had to go. Being there took me right back to my time living in Sweden. It just feels quite authentic and homely. So much so that DAUNS has quickly become one of my go-tos for a weekend brunch. I think the pastries were what initially brought me in, and let me tell you, the cinnamon buns and the danishes do not disappoint one bit. It's not always easy finding good vegan pastries, and DAUNS' are so traditionally faithful and just delicious. I get them literally every time I go. But their offering is far more complete than just their lovely pastries. Their open sandwich range is quite broad - from traditional smörrebröd to breakfast-loaded toast (OMG you must try the scrambled tofu one). And of course, the classic Swedish meatballs. They also have a small deli in the shop, so if you want to have a lovely meal and shop for some Julienne Bruno vegan burrata, DAUNS is just the perfect place for you. 🌱 Fully Vegan! 🏅 Overall: 9/10 What I ate: 🥘 Swedish Meatballs 🥪 Scrambled Tofu, Seitan Sausage, and Harissa Mayo on Sourdough Toast 🌟 🥪 Toast Skagen 🥪 Seitan Roast and Danish remoulade on Danish Rye Bread 🍑 Peach Danish 🌟 🍩 Cinnamon Bun ⭐️

Love the food here! Have brought various friends here over the past months and all of them love it. Delicious vegan food which has opened my eyes to Swedish food! Highly recommend! Must admit the cafe is small and can be a bit annoying to walk around in when too many people are in at once, you may not always get a table!

I went to Dauns for dinner last Saturday. Wow! Great food, lovely, intimate atmosphere, nice and warm staff. I am not vegan, yet I find their plates tasty and creative. Special mention for the desserts: I had the ice cream and apple crumble on the night and was already familiar with their signature chocolate cake. TOP!

Wonderful hole-in-the-wall place with vegan food so delicious, you don't miss the meat. I just loved the Scandinavian Vegan food at this place. We got a chance to talk to the owner Richard (pronounced Ric-hurd) during a gap, and he patiently explained Scandinavian foods and traditions, which made it all the more interesting. I tried the non-alcoholic mulled wine and the open sandwich with vegan meatballs and beetroot. Both were amazing! The mulled wine was served heated, with a side of slivered almonds and raisins (or sultanas, as they are known in the UK). They also have a small shop section, and I picked up a few items to try back home. This is now in my "will be back" list on my next trip to London.

This is one of my favorite cafes in London. Fully vegan 💚 and it's so good!! Everything is delicious, nice service and the prices are fair!

I tried the scandinavian vegan food for the first time and was completely blown away by the sourdough bread with scrambled tofu on top along with seitan sausage. The wholesome vegan breakfast in London I had anywhere and I tried a lot of vegan cafe. What’s more, they open early and easy to get table. In my next trip to London I am going to spend a lot of time in this cafe for sure.

A perfect vegan Scandinavian experience! The menu has plenty of choices, and the cafe has a super cosy atmosphere. My current favorites are Cinnamon Bun and Kimchi Toastie! The Dill Crisps that they are selling as souvenirs are so good as well. The vegan cheese that the chef used was of high quality; I will definitely buy one next time. and Swedish tea has a lovely smell! I couldn’t believe it was 100% vegan. This is literally happiness <3

Had an absolutely delightful experience, I was treated to a chai latte and a smoothie blend of lime, spinach, apple and cucumber. What stood out to me is that even though both beverages were vegan, they tasted incredibly rich and flavourful. Highly recommend for vegans and non-vegans alike.

Had the Swedish meatballs and fellow diner had the cheese plate. The meatballs nice and meaty andwere perfectly served. The cheese plate included the green cheese experience, which, if you haven't tried it, then you haven't lived... Needless to say everything was vegan!

Always brilliant. Some of the best value and most original vegan food in London. Spoiled for plant-based restaurants in this area of Spitalfields, but this is my pick every time. Whether you want coffee and a cinnamon bun or a hearty feed and a glass of wine, Rickard and his friendly team have you covered. Not to be missed.

Overall I had a great time at Dauns, the food was really some of the best vegan cafe foods I've had and I was blown away by the hot dog, I haven't had a decent hot dog since going vegan, never thought hot dogs and mash potatoes could go so well together. Little disappointed that they didn't have any of the croissants available to try but they did offer the quesadilla instead which was amazing. I just felt the interior may need more lighting as it felt too dark.

Dauns is a vegan Scandinavian cafe, which is the first that I have ever seen. I wouldn't know this cuisine very well so I found it exciting to try something new! The menu has a wide range of Scandinavian staples but we first tried the platter of open sandwiches "Smörrebröd" which was class. This was perfect as there were three different flavours to try. The "Skagen" Tofish was creamy and delicious. It didn't have a strong fishy flavour but was perfectly balanced for me. The bread on this sandwich was like a garlic bread style and it was fantastic. The second sandwich had the vegan meatballs and beetroot which had a nice sweet but pickled flavour. Finally the sliced seitan sandwich, this had the most wonderful sauce on top which would remind you of dijon mustard with a pickled twist. The second thing we had was the hot dog which was served in a flat bread with some potato. This was a proper big portion and the seitan sausage 'Tunnbrödsrulle' was brilliant. It had a nearly 'Cumberland sausage' flavour which was super tasty. I also tried the cinnamon roll 'Kanelbulle' which was soft and sweet and paired perfectly with the americano I ordered. It may have been one of the most distinctive coffees I have had out in a while. Overall I really enjoyed this lunch and would definitely come back to try the other options on the menu 😊

Stumbled across this lovely little cafe when we visited Petticoat Lane. Tables had reserved signs on them but not until a certain time, was informed that we were free to sit up until the reserved time. My wife and I occupied a small central table and we ordered a latte and a hot chocolate along with a peach Melba danish. The service is ever so friendly and the drinks were delicious, and very well decorated, it’s the extra mile that the team take that makes this a lovely place to visit. The toilets are very clean with lots of napkins and plenty of liquid soap. The prices were surprisingly great value and will visit if ever in the area again.

Small and cosy, but a total gem to have on your list for when you want somewhere to drop into and just sit and eat without any hustle and bustle. The menu covers different sizes and runs from toasted sandwiches and daily soup to classic plates of food. The fridges come stocked with an interesting array of drinks to choose from. The decor is simple and clean and the decorations tastefully minimal, the staff are friendly and engaging and the music is varied but not intrusive, a nice low key vibe at times.

The best plant-based, unassuming cafe in London. They offer the usual cafe items as well as an interesting range of Scandinavian-influenced food and drink options. The food quality is EXCELLENT (with really good attention to detail of the food textures and taste) and the price is very cheap. It is mostly aimed at the breakfast and lunch crowd but we went for dinner and left very full. Highly recommend the soup, the toasties and the pastries (make sure you ask for the Danish pastry of the day). Whether you follow a plant-based diet (and maybe want to try something a bit different) or are a meat eater, come check this place out!

Just tried the Garlic mushroom and truffle toastie! It was great! Owner was really cool. He gave me loads of advice and suggestions based on questions I asked about being vegan. Especially around vegan cheese! I asked if they could do a cheese board I could take home and he was more than happy to oblige the next time I am in town and preorder. Now serving alcohol and adding a meat ball dish to the menu I will be back to try the the sit down restaurant experience. Don’t miss out on this gem!

The ingredients from toast were so FRESH that I had to try 3 different kinds of toasts! The hot chocolate with sea salt was heaven indeed. And I also had to stop buying all the VEGAN cheese and seitan before I get bankrupt.

We have ordered their food a few times during lockdown and they have always met our high expectations. Their Christmas hamper, delivered to our door, was ah-ma-zing! A solid 5 star place

A very chill and cute place. Great prices and tasty food. The meatballs dish with rhubarb drink is a winning combo on a summer evening. Finished with miso chocolate ice cream. It’s always great to know everything is vegan. I loved browsing the groceries and reading all the little cards with descriptions Rickard has written. He also took the time to tell me a bit more about a few things. We picked up some supplies to try at home too. Can’t wait to try the rhubarb cordial!

Oh my god - so memorable time. Absolutely fabolous food and the service 11/10. The owner is such a chatterbox - in a good mean of that word of course 😀 - with telling a stories or describing ingredients. One of the best vegan restaurant I’ve ever been and definitely the best in London. Soooo recomend this.

Such a lovely place with so much thought put into it! Should definitely go there, vegan or not. Recommend it for snacks on the go, coffee or eat in meals like traditional Swedish food.

I placed an order with Daun's Deli on the 21st of April. I ordered a large lasagne and a big Greek salad as well as some of his delicious home made pickles. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food. The Greek salads were delicious and the lasagne was very good too! Everything was made on time for us and was ready and waiting for us when we collected our food.

You are in for a treat, trust me. This food is just so delicious and absolutely perfect for vegans and non-vegans alike. The Scandi inspired roast dinner is genuinely one of my favourite meals I've ever had and I've eaten a LOT of good food. The apple crumble is a must-try - sweet and perfectly spiced with exquisite crumble, and the black hummus is simply outstanding and writing this has made me want it all over again.

Great vegan meals delivered through lockdown by Daun's Deli. Meatless moussaka is amazing and I don't miss the meat at all, and the hot dogs are better than meat ones without a doubt. Meals are delivered with great sauces dips and salads, and are filling, healthy and great value.

  • 5/5 Jonathan C. 2 years ago on Google
Rickard is a genius! We had his quiches, lasagna, potato salad, chocolate cake, hot dogs, cheese twists, sausage rolls, and tofish. Everything was spot-on. Not the cheapest but worth every penny.

Business has adapted amazingly during lockdown - from serving delicious food in Catford Mews to setting up a delivery service. Generous portions of delicious, healthy but comforting, affordable vegan food with a twist, full of flavour. The Moroccan chickpea stew with couscous is one of my all-time favourite dishes!! The menu changes regularly, with a variety of dishes, ranging from moussaka, lasagna, BBQ, quiche to Sunday brunch and Sunday roast - along with varieties of homemade hummus and vegan mayo available by pre-order - or snacky treats like hotdog and cheeze toasties via delivery app. Can't recommend enough.
