Do
NOT
stay
at
The
Collective.
I
stayed
for
a
few
months
as
a
long
stay,
paid
around
£850
for
my
first
month
as
part
of
a
promotion
with
£200
membership
fee,
and
thereafter
£1300
a
month
for
the
smallest
"cosy"
room.
Detailed
explanation
below;
tldr
-
It
is
dangerous
and
at
best
a
complete
waste
of
money.
Please
read
other
reviews
on
a
recent
incident
where
a
fire
broke
out
in
the
sauna
on
the
20th
floor
and
yet
no
fire
alarms
went
off,
merely
an
app
alert
to
let
people
know
to
evacuate.
Short
stays
were
provided
refunds
but
long
stays
had
no
communication
or
refunds
issued.
My
room
was
without
power
for
over
24
hours,
all
the
food
in
my
freezer
and
fridge
spoiled
and
melted
so
I
had
no
food,
and
I
could
not
charge
my
phone
or
laptop
to
go
to
work
the
next
day,
and
NO-ONE
from
The
Collective
checked
up
on
me.
I
complained
repeatedly
till
another
room
was
offered,
but
by
then
I
had
booked
another
hotel
room
for
a
few
days.
The
management
refuse
to
believe
their
alarms
do
not
work
and
the
building
is
unsafe
despite
evidence
of
residents
still
being
in
their
rooms
whilst
staff
were
safe
and
waiting
outside
for
the
fire
brigade.
Even
the
fire
exits
require
keycard
access
which
is
unacceptable.
General
Cons:
-
The
management
at
this
place
is
appalling,
most
of
the
time
the
pool
and
spa
facilities
are
shut,
and
hotel
guests
get
priority
anyway.
You
are
shouted
at
and
treated
like
a
child
when
you
try
to
use
facilities
such
as
the
gym
and
managers
make
up
their
own
opening
hours
despite
it
being
written
on
the
app.
-
Cleaning
is
not
sufficient
in
the
rooms,
sometimes
even
the
bed
linen
isn't
changed,
and
most
of
the
shared
facilities
like
the
kitchen
are
dirty
-
Kitchen
ovens
and
microwave
are
a
nightmare
to
work,
so
you
cannot
cook
properly
-
The
entire
building
is
opposite
the
DLR
train
station,
the
noise
in
the
night
will
keep
you
up
and
dust
from
building
works
will
turn
your
room
dusty
and
black
-
Constant
drug
use
by
hotel
guests,
the
weed
smell
is
unbearable
and
management
will
not
tackle
this
-
The
rooms
are
tiny,
I
paid
£1300
for
a
room
I
cannot
stretch
my
arms
out
fully
in
-
No
covid
safe
protocol
for
their
events,
they
do
not
contact
trace
properly
or
even
check
people
have
been
vaccinated
or
neg
test
before
attending
-
You
have
to
pay
to
do
laundry,
costs
add
up
and
the
laundry
room
is
dirty
-
Cinema
room
rarely
works
-
Tv
in
the
room
never
works
-
most
residents
use
chromecast
which
doesn't
connect
often
-
No
air
conditioning,
during
the
summer
it
is
stiflingly
hot
Pros:
-
The
residents
at
The
Collective
are
lovely
and
friendly
-
The
location
in
Canary
Wharf
I
moved
out
as
soon
as
I
could,
you
will
not
be
valued
or
have
a
functioning
home
if
you
move
in
here.
For
the
price
you
can
also
find
a
1
bed
apartment
to
yourself
for
much
cheaper
and
your
life
won't
be
at
risk
either.
