I like all the ways to transfer to the city. Some long walks to the rental cars. The airport could use more updates to guide passengers through to their destinations. It was frustrating finding an up-to-date map (on line) of the airport with the changes to gates around gate 12. Lines for ticketing and security were long. Waiting areas were fine, but with so many delayed flights all the areas were overcrowded.

Crazy queues for security, impossible to get to gates due to volume of passengers going through the same tiny area. Website has 4 hour queue to just get onto it to check a flight. The experience today would seriously make me consider if I’d fly through Edinburgh again. Absolutely no management in place.

It's not a good place to spent the night waiting for a flight, everything is closed and there are no chairs. But after 3am the security gates open and at the check-in area there are plenty of stores, coffee shop and restaurants (open from 4am), and plenty of places to sit comfortably.

May not be the busiest in the UK, but it is one of the largest airports in Scotland. The airport seems fairy organised, and the immigration officers and staff are friendly. I didn't have to wait long for my luggage. There are bus connections and shuttle services outside the airport to help you get around.

Where Scotland meets the World! This is a good airport for the most part, although it is definitely small on a relative scale when you take into consideration the number of people and airlines this airport caters to. As such, I have noticed that it has been quite crowded on the three instances I have been here, and baggage check moves very slowly as a result. Regarding security checks, I do not like the fact that every time I've been here, items have been seized from me with no reasonable justification. There are cafes and restaurants around, as well as shops. There is also an abundance of transport options to and from here, and the environment is clean and well-maintained.

Relatively small airport with good connectivity to the city. There is a £5 barrier fee for taxis that pick up or drop you from the airport. To save this choose your pickup or drop location slightly outside the airport. Tram station & bus stations are also right outside the airport. Surprisingly there are zero flights at late nights (11 pm to 430 am or so) departing from here. This airport has perhaps very stringent luggage scanning policies. Every time they identify an item that shouldn't have been there, but most other airports have cleared the same bag earlier. The staff are friendly and I have had smooth experiences everytime at this airport.

Pretty backward airport. Shops are limited and the airport lounge leaves a lot to be desired. Was stuck at the airport for a couple of hours. Appatently, we were informed that there was a hard landing which potentially damaged the runway. Inspection toom quite a bit of time and we could not disembark. Captain of the plane advised that there were no stairs nor busses to allow disembarking. He further shared that the airport is not desired by pilots given how aged it is. This is quite apparent with the checkin process (it is a DIY where you need to carry yr luggage onto a conveyor belt), walk on the tarmac on arrival or departure and staircase climb up the plane, walkways are pretty shady......list just goes on. For whoever intending of visiting Edinburgh, best bet is to fly in to Glasgow and take a short train ride. Alternatively, Heathrow may also be an option with a 4+hour train into Edi.

Good airport, I hate the fact that our baggage took over an hour and 35 minutes to arrive upon arrival on the first of October, but the rest is pretty nice, a variety of food and shopping options if you should be hungry, the airport is also accessible for spotting planes from the inside, if you are into that. Only downsides are of course the slow queue and long wait for the luggage, but I got my luggage with me both ways, so I can’t say I don’t like it. In the end I had spent a good 4 hours in the airport. Wouldn’t mind flying into EDI again.

Depends on what day or season you are travelling from Edinburgh, the airport may be busy with longer queues and more time spent for booking as well as security checks. I found this airport well kept, easy to board and providing various refreshment, amenities and duty free shops.

Not too bad of an airport, definitely small for how many airlines and people travel through. The arrival was good, the custom was not so bad. They have automated passport scanners. The departure was okay, the bin system is good if everyone knows to take the whole bin to get your stuff. Instead of taking their bags out and leaving the bins there. For some reason most of the people with tablets/iPads got their bag pulled to be open. It took almost 30 minutes for the security to get to my bag and just to rescan my iPad mini. A lot of buses to get to the city. Tram was also an option. A lot of shops and restaurants in the terminal. The lounges are at one end of the airport, if your gates are 1-3 you have a long walk to 16. There was one lounge at gate 4 but they opened at 9 am.

Not too big not too small with a lot of destinations. Great choice of food points and shops, enormous range of whiskies and other alcohols, very kind and helpful staff everywhere. Easy access to the center of Edi.

Surprisingly small airport compare to the city’s size. Finding a right parking space is a bit difficult since the directional signs are very complicated. Set up the desired parking space as your goal in google map, otherwise you will be likely to go to a wrong section.

Beautiful airport to travel into from a scenic perspective, but I absolutely hate the walk to and from the airport arrival and departure area to the rental car company. It’s too bad there isn’t a bus shuttle that can transport you as it seems like it is a hard hike after you have traveled hours to get to Scotland. I do prefer Edinburgh over Glasgow, but I sure hate that walk and wish I could be carried by a chariot after traveling so far to get back home. I also lost my wallet and ended up buying someone jewellery that I had to pay for as I couldn’t cancel my card fast enough. So not the best place to lose your card, but that was my fault. Check in and out and security seems to go by slowly and I recommend getting here early if you have an early departure.

Not a bad airport, can get pretty busy and at the check in there’s not always a whole lot of room so can get crowded trying to get from one end to another, but people generally pretty helpful. Lots of shops and eating/drink places after security, but unsure why in the check in there are three different WHSmiths at checkin lol

I arrived at Edinburgh Airport for the first time in quite a few years, and I must say it exceeded my expectations on all fronts. From the moment I stepped foot into the terminal, I was greeted by a clean and well-maintained environment that exuded a much more modern and inviting vibe than had been my last encounter. One of the standout aspects of Edinburgh Airport is its efficiency. Despite being a busy international hub, everything seemed to flow seamlessly, from the check-in process to security checks and boarding. The staff members were incredibly helpful and provided excellent customer service, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience. The facilities and amenities were great. Numerous shops, restaurants, and lounges catered to a variety of tastes and preferences, offering a range of options for travelers to relax, dine, or indulge in some retail therapy. I particularly appreciated the diverse selection of eateries, providing both local Scottish cuisine and international dishes to suit most palates. The airport's layout and signage were well-designed, easily guiding passengers to their respective gates and facilities. Clear and informative announcements were made throughout the terminal, keeping travelers informed of any changes or updates to their flights. These small details significantly enhanced the overall experience. I would also like to commend Edinburgh Airport on its accessibility. If you have mobility limitations, you may be impressed by the presence of well-maintained lifts, ramps, and assistance services available throughout the airport. The staff members appear to be more than willing to assist in any way they can, ensuring that all passengers could navigate the airport comfortably. Lastly, the airport's location is simply fantastic. Situated a short distance from the city center, it offers convenient connectivity to various transportation options, including buses, taxis, and the tram network. This accessibility made my transition from the airport to the city convenient and time-efficient. The main complaint I heard was the payment of £5 for the drop-off/pick-up area. you can of course avoid this by using the free 30 minute parking at the long stay. it's a 5 minute walk from the terminal and there's even free buses running to collect or drop you there. In conclusion, Edinburgh Airport is a shining example of what an airport should aspire to be. It has successfully combined efficiency, cleanliness, great customer service, and a wide range of facilities to provide a delightful travel experience for all passengers. Whether you're a frequent flyer or a first-time traveler, I highly recommend flying through Edinburgh Airport for a truly positive and hassle-free journey.

Security was fast and efficient. Customs was easy. The pick up lot was pretty far from the exit of the airport. Clean, friendly staff, on time flights both trips to and from.

A good, smaller International Airport. It's easy to find public transportation to get to your destination in Edinburgh. The security personnel is good too. I did not have issues with them. I went to one of the lounges as a loyal Delta Airlines passenger. The flight on the way in had some intense crosswinds, but the KLM pilot aborted the 1st attempt, swung around for a successful landing!

Just Satisfactory! The road/bus routes in and out to the airport are not good at all. Use a tram or prepared to walk for 20 mins, with no proper occasional footpaths
