As well as being a great, community minded organisation with a very good ethos, Namyang provides the best workout you're going to get. Really good for flexibility, mobility, cardio and strength. Lovely people. I would recommend it to anyone of all ages.

I've been coming here for over 10 years of my life and I've never experienced such a warm, welcoming atmosphere for people at all ability levels to train and improve their skills. All the teachers are fantastic and full positive energy as soon as you walk in the room. Highly recommend!

I have been training with Nam Yang for nearly 2 years and I absolutely love the club! The owner Sam is an amazing guy, who is kind, caring and supportive! Everyone that trains there is lovely and I have made great friends there too :)

My only regret is I've lived in Brighton for almost 5 years and had no clue this place existed! The place welcomed me with open arms and the atmosphere is nothing but friendly and respectful. I feel part of a family. The membership allows me to train in multiple disciplines, which was always my dream. I never want to leave!

Best Martial Arts school in Brighton. The staff and students are so friendly & welcoming, this place feels more like a family than a school. Everyone is positive and encouraging, no matter what your age or standard. So many different classes to chose from & Master Shifu Sam is unbelievably devilishly handsome.

I cannot recommend this club enough. Not only will you get fit and learn from an array of very talented instructors, you will also make great friends. Whether your martial arts journey is just beginning or you already have experience, this is the place to come.

Nam Yang is a wonderful place to train and also so much more than a martial arts group: it's a warm, friendly, welcoming community of people with a big heart. And they do incredible work with other communities in Brighton & Hove too. I've been with Nam Yang for over 3 years now & love it. And yes, we do train hard too! It's great to be able to train with such a diverse group, all ages & abilities, and there's such a wide variety of classes on offer, we're spoilt for choice.

Life doesn't always happen as we want. I never thought I would get so much into kickboxing at my age. With Nam Yang, I found a way to look after myself in a 360-degree environment- a place that helps with my mental health, fitness, and spiritual growth. With Nam Yang, I found friends and people who inspire me and give me the strength to change at the core of who I am. I suffered from anxiety and depression. I joined the club after the lockdown. My mental health was in a terrible state, but thanks to training, the support of the community and the inclusive culture, I have found a safe space where to challenge myself and improve my life perception. With Nam Yang, I learned that I don't have to be "The Best", but I can be a more peaceful, calm and joyful version of myself. Life doesn't always happen as we want, but with Nam Yang, I learned that I can control how I respond. I am grateful to be part of this Team; thanks to Nam Yang for all the hard work. #LOVEISTHEANSWER

I honestly can’t recommend Nam Yang enough. The community is so welcoming and I absolute love attending sessions. I would really recommend Nam Yang to people who want to try something new in a friendly, supportive environment (along with more experienced people). You really can learn at your own pace and are always encouraged in such a friendly way. I don’t usually stick with hobbies but due to the wonderful community surrounding Nam Yang I have this time! :)

Nam yang is so much more than a place to learn martial arts. Having relocated to Brighton last year and discovering Nam Yang I have made so many friends through the community of members. There are classes that suit any kind of schedule, both in the days and evenings. I'd had limited experience of contact sports before joining but with the excellent support and advice of the instructors, after six months I'd competed in my first interclub and take part in sparring classes every week. Sam is a fantastic instructor who works hard to make classes inclusive to new members and has built a community that is the fabulous nam yang family. There are also whole host of different kinds of classes included in a membership (jujitsu, three styles of kick boxing, kung-fu) and the trial week meant I got to try all of these first before committing to a membership. Highly recommend this club to anyone who is considering starting a fitness journey and wants to make lots of new friends, learn a new skill and laugh alot through the process!

Joining Nam Yang Brighton was the best desicion I made in 2020. I was struggling with feeling demotivated and was struggling to lose weight after the first lockdown. At the suggestion of a close friend who had done martial arts before, We started researching Martial arts classes in brighton. I was hesitant at first because I don't like to fight, but I saw it as a form of self-development. After my first kickboxing lesson with Sam, I was hooked! (Pun intended) Everyone at the classes were really friendly and I got a sense of community and inclusive vibe which is something that I didn't get from some of the other Martial arts schools we were looking at. I was really impressed with the outreach work they were doing with disenfranchised groups and people with disabilities. Everyone has a place at Nam Yang and even if you're struggling financially or seeking asylum then the club has systems in place to accomodate you. Sam is a great, friendly and patient instructor and always receptive to my many questions! I've been coming to classes for 3 months now and I've seen a real positive change. I've become more confident, my mental health has improved alot and I've lost weight (17Kg). In large part because of the work I've done with Sam at the kickboxing classes. If you're interested in martial arts training whether you're a beginner or have been training for a long time I cannot reccomend Nam Yang Brighton enough!

Sam has hosted classes for us at our workplace for many years. Kickboxing on a Monday is a great way to start the week! The classes are so well structured for all abilities and are both enjoyable and challenging – Nam Yang is honestly the best martial arts class I have been to. Sam is so knowledgeable and friendly and his general enthusiasm, love for life and wellbeing tips means we all leave the class feeling much better than we went in. Thank you Sam!

A great eclectic mix of classes to train in with a variety of instructors. Within the club there's an emphasis on friendship and quality training, and externally Nam Yang's aim is to be of service to the wider community. All lead by Sam who is a lovely bloke and very knowledgeable in both martial arts and community work. A great place to be involved with.

Nam Yang is so welcoming and fun to be part of! My children joined first and then I joined with my daughter on the Saturday morning family class which I love, I now try and train extra in the week too. Sam is a true legend and kind man he really cares about the people he trains. It’s a real community and not only am I getting fit but feel proud to be part of a great community. Thank you.

Great place to train and the club is very welcoming. Sam and the team are very knowledgeable and I have learned a lot in a small space of time. The club also does great work with local charities and refugees. Options to train in both Brighton and Hove.

This place is incredibly welcoming, and I've felt a great sense of respect and friendship within the community. One thing that sets Nam Yang apart is its inclusivity. Regardless of your experience level, you're encouraged to learn at your own pace without any pressure. I started my martial arts journey in 2020 with no prior experience, and I immediately loved it. The more experienced members were always very supportive and made the initial learning process really enjoyable. What stands out even more is the incredible knowledge and expertise of the coaches. They have an incredible martial art knowledge and possess an unparalleled capacity to make everyone feel included. Beyond the training, Your Martial Arts Club has become a community where I've formed very important friendships. The classes are a perfect blend of diverse kickboxing techniques and engaging fitness exercises. They are never repetitive and allow you to consolidate the basis of kickboxing while always learning new techniques. I noticed a positive impact on my fitness within just a few weeks of joining. Nam Yang offers more than just training; it provides a supportive community for personal growth and friendships. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming and enriching martial arts experience.
