Weymouth is a seaside town in Dorset. It is situated in what can be described as a sheltered bay at the mouth of the River Wey. Having visited both Bournemouth and Poole over the years, I felt it was time to visit Weymouth and I was pleasantly surprised. Positioned halfway along the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site, it is a fascinating area. Transport around the area is regular and frequent and can highly recommend the Jurassic Coaster tour bus as a way of exploring the immediate area. The beaches were clean and family friendly and the local shops cater for all needs and requirements. A most enjoyable seven days.

Beautiful beach. I especially like it because is just next to the city. 1 side Is a relaxing fishing harbour and another side a busy beach with lots of arcade and fish and chips. Lot to do with kids. You can park all day if you follow the beach road until the end but you may need to wake-up early. πŸ˜‰πŸ–β˜€οΈ

Amazing wide and long beach with an outstanding view. The water is shallow, gradually sloping. Golden sand beach, which changes to shingle as you walk towards Greenhill beach. Lots of attractions including amusement park, trampoline, pedal boats and so on. Many restaurants and coffee shops to choose from nearby. Plenty of public toilets available and few shower stations.

Such a beautiful beach, very sandy and long to walk along. There's a section on the beach for dogs which makes it great for dog owners to let dogs play in the sea and sand. There's a wide range of things to do along the sea front including punch and Judy stand near the clock tower end. Such a amazing beach well maintained by the Dorset Council.

Lovely sandy beach, very clean and good facilities nearby (toilets, food & drink etc). Loungers and deck chairs can be rented for the day and lifeguards are on hand for any emergencies. Plenty of car parks near the beach but plenty of other (cheaper or free) parking further away if you don't mind a short walk. Half the beach is pebbly and the other half is an amazing golden sandy beach with loads attraction. Overall Weymouth is amazing and definitely come back with the family.

Brilliant beach, big, lovely soft golden sand. Not overcrowded, even on a hot sunny day. Plenty of reasonable price parking nearby. Close to the town centre and amenities. I actually think it's much better than Bournemouth.

Some of the softest sand you'll put your feet in, Weymouth beach is ideal for families due its shallow shoreline and has everything from rides and arcades to shops and bars dotted all along. The beach itself is very clean, combed each morning, and gives stunning views of the south coast. Pedalo, kayak and deckchair hire available all across the beach, toilets and showers also. Parking is a chore on nice days, be early and use the carpark by the Pavillion.

Never seen a beach so clean. In the morning I have seen council people even-out the sand on the beach and make it sparkling clean for the traffic later. Had a designated dog area for your fur buddy. People are very friendly and food prices are cheaper and pocket friendly.

Lovely day, super dog friendly. Lots of places to grab a coffee, lunch and chips. The streets have cute boutiques. Arcades and small amusements for kids. Parking gets VERY busy

Great place for families, lots of shops, restaurants and a little fair for children to enjoy πŸ˜„. The water is nice and clean, loads of people in the water doing all sorts of activities. The water was really shallow when we was there. There is always something to do in the area. I would recommend this beach to anyone we enjoyed it and love it here.

It's a lovely place but I've got to admit locals aren't very friendly. I can appreciate they must get fed up with people that take this lovely place for granted. But we all shouldn't be tarred with the same brush as I would never disrespect the seaside by littering or being obnoxious Please be friendlier to tourists !!!!

The classic English seaside beach, I'd wager a hundred years ago it would almost be the same. One problem for me though, I don't like sand. When I went it was very busy for a number of reasons, it was the first hot and sunny day that week, and there happened to be a classic car/bike show on the promenade. Toilets were about halfway down and they were fairly clean for public toilets. And a few lifeguards on duty too so it's reasonably safe too. Great for children and sunbathers alike, but it can be very busy to the point where it's a bit much.

If you are looking for a Sandy beach this is perfect, kids had a great time and water is very shallow for the little ones. Highly recommend

The beach is really pretty at night. It's not busy during rainy seasons, so it's still nice to visit to see the views. The harbours are very nice at night also.

Beautiful sandy beach with relatively warm sea. It’s very close to the train station and offers all the amenities you might need for your day at the beach! However, be prepared that it will be extremely crowded on a sunny day. My recommendation would be to go there around 4pm to avoid the big crowds.

Amazing beach that has a very typical British feel. Very colourful full of things to do and see. Boat trips are great, food is great.

Love Weymouth Beach. Live in Poole, have Poole and Bournemouth beaches within 30 min walking distance from our house but would much rather catch the train and come to Weymouth. The beach is nicer (although suffering with seaweed at the moment, but it is a beach), the facilities are cleaner, well maintained and the shopping area is close by, so the Wife has somewhere to hang out. Plenty of little restaurants and cafes to have a meal and drinks. So much better than Poole/Bournemouth.

Used to visit yearly for family holidays! The sandy beach is well looked after with shops, restaurants and bars all nearby, along with an amusements area for kids entertainment. πŸ–οΈπŸ»πŸ They’ve added more β€œon-beach” lunch hubs in recent years which seem to be a hit! πŸ₯ͺ Worth visiting in summer when the suns out! 🌞

Great place. I immediately got gosebumps when got out of the car. Maybe I just love being by the sea. I don't know. Surprisingly, none of the coffee shops were open today, in the beginning of May. Otherwise, it was good. Might need to practice my parking skills since kerbs there are quite high.

This is very much a family beach. It's brilliant for children. Dogs are allowed only at a small patch at the very end. We found too many dogs in a small area due to this. ( may to Sept, other times allowed ) There are loads of amenities nearby from boat rides, to children's small fair rides, shops and restaurants. No immediate nearby parking, but there is a fairly large car park postcode - DT4 7DW. or another one DT4 7DQ not too far away. Both are opposite each other, 5 mins from town and 10 from the beach. Get there early for a space!! Nice beach, golden sands, but not very wide so gets ridiculously busy at peak times with people very close to each other.

Wow what a stunning beach and beautiful views. Lots for the kids to do, rides on the beach, donkeys, Punch and Judy show, arcade and more rides, peddle boats. Lots of lovely places to eat ( cafes on the beach front ) fish and chips, pubs and lots of seafood restaurants. Nice shops to walk around as the beach is right near the town. Lots of B&Bs and pubs with rooms if you want to make a weekend of it. Best beach……….

Weymouth Beach has excellent amenities. There are lots of refreshments booths and kiosks on the beach and esplanade. There are toilets on the esplanade near the statute of the King. There is a traditional Punch and Judy show doing two performances a day, 12.30pm and 2pm in the summer, weather permitting, cost is Β£2 adult or children. There is a Sand Sculpture exhibition on the beach towards the pier/Pavilion end of the beach. The sand beach is cleaned everyday and hasc won awards. Lifeguards are found much further on at the pebble end of the beach which I'd a walk away from Bournemouth Central beach. There are amusements as you walk to the pier/Pavilion end of the Beach.

One of the great English seaside beaches. The sea is always calm and slopes gently. So sad too have left πŸ’™
