Best curry in North London. A family style welcoming environment where you’re made to feel at home as soon as you walk through the door, with delicious food to match. We asked for something different from our usual Indian order and we were delivered with the best curry any of us have had. A brilliant restaurant where your hearts will leave as full as your stomach.

This is a surprisingly fantastic restaurant. We had the Kari Chicken and the mixed grill. I was a little worried about the idea of not having a sauce with the mixed grill, however the flavours were out of this world. It's a really cosy location that even hosts it's own Jaz nights. The staff were really nice and very accommodating. I'm not a fan of onions and I can't eat tomatoes, however I mentioned this to the owner as he took our order and he was absolutely happy to help. Really recommend this place and when we return next we will be back.

This restaurant is a culinary gem! With very warm hospitality fr Raj and staff, flavourful curries and mouthwatering bread and tandoori dishes. I truly, truly enjoyed their garlic naan bread, chicken tikka masala, karahi lamb and fish masala! The onion bhaji was so crisp and tasty. Everywhere your fork and spoon go, theres this jolting, delightful surprise! Their dishes in terms of ingeredients were no holds barred in the most fantastic, compelling way. And the place has a cozy ambience with great jazz songs playlist which complete the delightful dining experience. I would recommend all my friends here!

Booked a table for 3 for Saturday evening. Arrived on time, friendly waiter took us to our table, drinks arrived very quickly following by freshly prepared delicious dishes. Despite we didn't expect to hear jazz music in Indian Restaurant atmosphere was fantastic! Happy to return here and recommend it 😀 Thank you! 🙂

I visited the Sitara recently after a long break, tightening my belt. In future, I won't leave it as long because it really is the best Indian food I've ever had the pleasure of eating and worth every penny. Specifically it's Punjabi food they serve - amazing dishes that zing. And then there's the place itself - you feel like you're somewhere luxurious and special, with the decor and lighting, and then of course, being the 'Jazz Restaurant' there's carefully selected jazz greats playing over a great sound system as you dine. Perfection

Best lamb curry in London, get the lamb madras! Lively family-run restaurant with lovely atmosphere, service and food for reasonable prices. Absolutely mind blowing lamb madras, best one I’ve ever had. One of our favourite restaurants in London, don’t miss it!

Sitara blends authentic Indian flavors with the smooth, melodious tunes of jazz. During my visit, I ordered dal tadka and chicken kari with naan and fragrant pilau rice. It was so delicious and fresh, beautifully complemented by the soothing jazz melodies that filled the background. The warmth and friendliness of the hosts added an extra layer of charm to the entire experience, making it exceptionally welcoming. Whether you're a vegetarian or a meat lover, this place offers an extensive range of options to satisfy every palate. Sitara is a must visit for those who appreciate exceptional Indian food and a delightful ambiance." 🍽️🎷🌟 Highly recommended!

By far the Best Indian restaurant visited in London, since our first dinner here, we have come back here ever since and wouldn’t pick anywhere else. The Service is unmatched, comfortable and friendly environment with fresh, exquisite dishes packed with unique and delicious flavours. It’s a must try!!!

A marvellous restaurant. The atmosphere is phenomenal (Indian Jazz, an excellent concept!). The flavours of the food are excellent and always fresh. The customer service is phenomenal, Raj and the whole family are incredibly friendly and attentive and you can see why they have such a stellar reputation. After visiting I can see why it is always so packed in the evenings. I could not recommend this place more highly.

Such a wonderful and unique place. Absolutely delicious food, jazz on the walls and in the air (we call it "the jazz Indian"), kind and welcoming staff, low light and warm atmosphere. The absolute best on a rainy night in Archway!

Absolutely brilliant all around! The service was top notch, super friendly owner. Lovely jazz music playing. Food was top quality, curries had so much more depth and complexity of flavour than your normal Indian. Will be coming back again and again in the future now I've found this gem.

We found this little gem one night looking for a good Indian place for dinner in our area. The ambience was gorgeous and the first restaurant of its kind I've been to - crossing over jazz and and lovely Indian food. The service is spectacular, they make you feel special and cared for. The food was absolutely delicious and very authentic. The music complements the whole experience very well. So glad I found this place and it's definitely going to be a regular!

Been here twice now and it is my absolute favourite Indian restaurant in London. The family are the most welcoming lovely people you will ever meet. I asked once for his recommendations and he selected a variety for us all incredible with the most amazing flavours. The lamb dansak is the best I have ever tried. The jazz ontop of all that just makes it even more unforgettable. Thank you!!!

I had the pleasure of visiting The Sitara at Archway, London on a whim last Saturday (17.06.2023) with my girlfriend, and I must say, it turned out to be a remarkable experience. Intrigued by the positive reviews, we decided to give it a try, and boy, were we in for a treat! From the moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance. The jazz theme made for a relaxing and wholesome aesthetic, as well some excellent background music. The restaurant, managed by three generations of the same family, exuded a sense of authenticity and togetherness that resonated throughout our evening. Now, let's talk about the food. Wow! The flavours we experienced were simply unparalleled. We opted for the chef’s specials of Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Karahi, accompanied by fragrant Pilau Rice and delectable Garlic Naan. Every bite was a revelation, leaving us craving more. It's safe to say that this was, without a doubt, the best curry I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The skill and passion that went into crafting these dishes was evident in every mouthwatering morsel. What truly stood out, though, was the genuine kindness displayed by the restaurant staff. While we regrettably missed catching the name of the lovely older lady who attended to us, her warmth and attentive service were felt throughout the evening. It's these personal touches that make dining experiences truly memorable. And the chef himself, was incredibly humble and full of jokes when we gave him our compliments. Overall, I cannot praise The Sitara enough. It is a hidden gem that deserves all the accolades it receives. The combination of exceptional service, stunning aesthetics, and divine cuisine makes it a must-visit for anyone in search of an extraordinary dining experience. It doesn’t matter where you are based in London, it’s worth the journey no matter how long or short. I can't recommend it highly enough, and I am already eagerly planning my next visit to this culinary haven!

Superb meal very hospitable host, great food with lots of choice on the menu. We walked in without booking and all four of us were seated and made to feel comfortable. Enjoyed the music whilst we ate too!

Best Indian food I’ve ever had. The chef, who also took our order, made a specialty dish for every person in my party. He was passionate and entertaining. He went out of his way to serve us well and provide a dining experience that my friends and I won’t forget. One of the best dining atmospheres and experiences I’ve had with much thought put into the food, the music, the lighting, and the service. This is a must try restaurant!

Some of the most delicious Indian food I’ve eaten in a restaurant in the UK. Fresh, rich Punjabi food and a great atmosphere. The Jazz cafe vibe is such a welcome change to the usual, and the owner’s passion for food and customer satisfaction is infectious. The fresh lassis are delicious and there’s an endless supply of ice-cold Cobra. The only downside we found was the hot drinks and desert options are not a strength.

Went here with some friends after the theatre hoping to dine in the restaurant by the time we arrived at 10:10pm it was too late to dine in (though they kindly offered to make us food to take away). Raj recommended an excellent goat curry they'd made that evening to a new recipe and was genuinely keen to hear our feedback. The food was fantastic, service was great and conversation with the owners while we waited for our food was interesting in giving an insight into the history of the business and their passion for food and jazz. I'd definitely recommend The Sitara without hesitation.

My wife and I ate there after a few years and the food and atmosphere remain just as good as always. Cool jazz music fused with excellent Indian cuisine. Looking forward to live music making a come back soon

I have just finished a takeaway from Sitara restaurant where I have eaten before. Tonight we ordered a takeaway to share with my newly married daughter and my new son-in-law. We all agreed, It was absolutely superb. Such defined taste to each dish and the quality of the meat was really good, moist and tender. On taking my order, Raj the owner advised which sauce we should have with the Bombay aloo, once he knew the entire order, showing a real interest, making sure we enjoyed the full experience of the meal. So pleased to say, there’s quite a bit left over for me tomorrow!!! Highly recommend, by me, a food critic to trust because I love good food and service.

Came here because a friend recommended it. The waiter was extremely kind and helped me figure out exactly how much spice I needed. I 100% recommend this place if you're looking for great Indian food and/or relaxing jazz music. Some of the best spicy food I've had in my life.

Like supremely cooked and beautifully spiced food? Don’t mind a bit of top class jazz music? Want to eat dinner it in a lovely, family run restaurant ? If the answer is yes, this place should be your next meal out! It isn’t bargain basement pricing, but the quality of the food makes it top value- the freshness of flavour is the better or equal of many of the more ‘high dining’ and far more expensive alternatives in the centre of town. Just fab. Cheers!

My favourite Indian restaurant in London. The food is excellent, the service is fantastic and the music is great. Jazz posters adorn the wall and the combination of great Indian food and a jazzy vibe make this a pretty unique experience. If you’re not sure what to have the host will ask you a couple of questions and then bring you dishes full of flavour. Nobody rushes you. You come in relax eat, drink and leave happy. Do it!!!

Lovely people and service. The food is delicious and told how spicy it is before saying what we wanted. They check how you are but you don't feel uncomfortable when they come and check. Overall a lovely experience and would recommend for people to come to experience something new.

Great food, great service, but perhaps more uniquely, a really cool vibe. A well chosen (in my opinion) Jazz soundtrack, a warm and personable welcome and the feeling that you were valued as a guest as much as a customer. As I was travelling alone for work, I thought I’d pop in for a solo meal. Whilst that may seem a little lonely, there were other solo diners as well as larger groups. If I visit the area again, I’ll definitely be coming back.
