Truly blessed to live in such a beautiful area. Car park and toilets located at the top of the hill with a well maintained footpath taking you on a gentle circular walk past Llantysilio Church, along the river Dee and down to the Horse Shoe falls. Follow the Llangollen Canal back up the the Car Park for a short walk.

This is where the Llangollen canal starts 🤔. Water is taken from the River Dee through the Horseshoe Falls. At first glance it looks natural but it was created by the amazing Thomas Telford ( who is also responsible for the local World Heritage Site the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct). Ideally walk to the falls from Llangollen. Grab a coffee at the Chain Bridge Hotel, strut across the Chain Bridge. Maybe, come up by train.

A beautiful place to visit, the car park takes coins only but is very reasonably priced so take some change and the walk down the hill to the path isn't suitable for everyone. If you are able to walk up/down hills it's worth it!

Such a lovely and tranquil place, it's never really that busy given it's a good 20-30 minutes walk along the canal from Llangollen. In summer you can enjoy the water and cool off, as well as occasionally spotting kayakers descending into the river. Recommend going in the late afternoon, there's a dedicated paid carpark with a bathroom as well. Nice place to see.

Lovely place. Nice walks around the local area. Parking was a bit of a pain but found a space eventually.

We walked from our caravan site along the towpath to Llangollen and then onwards to Horseshoe falls. Its a beautiful walk and it's nice to see where the canal starts from the river dee. We even saw Harvey the workhorse which takes the leisure barges to the falls. Normal barges are not allowed. There is a lovely hotel next to the bridge walk. We even walked up to a church which was open.

Little disappointed as had expected a higher waterfall but my fault for not checking first. Nice walk by canal. A good 3/4 mile there from Llangollen but good level ground. Ice cream from cafe as we started for sustenance and one when we got back as a reward. Didn't see any toilets there

A lovely walk along the towpath of the Llangollen Canal leads right to its source at the horseshoe falls - a weir designed by Thomas Telford. If you don't wish to walk, there is a car park nearby. The view of the weir and river is accessible by wheelchair along the towpath, but it is not possible to push a wheelchair further.

Beautiful location and £2 for 2 hours parking! We were ambushed by some cows on the loose which added to the fun, but other than that it's a wonderful spot with lovely walking trails and beautiful restaurant all in walking distance. Not wheelchair friendly and the way down to the water is steep so I recommend only on very dry and clear days with no mud

Lovely short walk - includes crossing a field of cows so wear appropriate footwear and keep dog on the lid. Parking has to be paid for but cards accepted. Walk can be extended if you decide to walk along the canal. Nice place 😊

A really nice walk along the canal from Llangollen. The flow on the canal is quite surprising until you reach the end. The semi circular weir was flowing hard after the rain. There is a good view from the car park but I recommend the walk from town and a beer at the Chain bridge Hotel.

Nice dipping area but beware the flow of water was very strong when we were there. Apparently water levels quite low at the moment. Easy access in for a dip or nice area to sit if you just want to watch the beautiful falls. Parking at the top is £3 for 2 hours or £6 all day, cash or card. There are toilets by the carpark and plenty of walking paths, quite steep in places though and not suitable for those with limited mobility

Great location with plenty of fascinating history of its origin. Great location for a picnic and parking is about 5 min walk away. Parking is £2 or free to National trust members. There are toilets on site to which are free of charge. Lots of people swimming in a contained section. The nearby area is all part of unesco world heritage so I recommend if your day visiting to check out all the other sites nearby. Recommend walking the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct a short drive away.

This was a gorgeous spot. Not really a waterfall though, more like a weir. It was great for a quick stop by, but seemed to have a nice walk along the canal too.

Awesome place take a long walk along the canal on one side and the river on the other. Beautiful sites and very clean.

Fab historical spot, lovely local walks down by the canal and great views of the river and local nature!

Easy to find with brown signs from the horse shoe pass Road Parking is pay and display or use your national trust card for free parking. Toilets are clean. Easy walk to the top of the field above the falls (a horse shoe wear really) but still very good for walking. A steep hill down to the falls and lovely walks around the area.

Such a gorgeous spot just outside Llangollen. How i didn't know it was here so for long - it's like a hidden gem! The car park isn't the biggest, and it's a steep hill to the river itself. But a wonderful place for a picnic and a dip in the river.

Great place in winter to stretch your legs. Easy parking . Beautiful views. Circular walk - a bit steep in places, but takes you past canal also

Lovely place for a picnic and a paddle. Small carpark and toilets. Steep hill to walk down but alternative route slightly easier along river and canal.

An absolute beautiful place to go have a wee dip. Nice grassed area. Plenty of parking. And there's a lovely restaurant just round the corner Nice to pop in for a drink or a bite to eat.

Great spot for a picnic after walking along the canal from Llangollen. Kids playing in the water and we saw a large group of canoeists set off over the weir. Shame there's no toilets nearby though.

Nice place to visit. Not a lot to do here all the walks seem to be dead ends. Nice to sit with a picnic and watch the water sports. The carpark got full by 11 but its cheap to park.

Beautiful countryside, not many people know but if you walk along the path next to the falls there is a small church at the top you can look around (feels spooky at night)
