Wow. One of Amthills best kept secrets. Great food, great service and a really nice atmosphere. A michelin star beckons....

Absolutely incredible experience, 7 courses of some of the best food you are likely to eat! The waiting staff were lovely and very attentive and I really enjoyed the chef's explaining each meal as it comes out, an evening you'll be sure to remember!

We decided to treat ourselves for our anniversary and what a special night it was. We arrived to find a happy anniversary card from Steve and everyone at Eileen's. The food was exquisite, with each plate beautifully presented and tasting absolutely amazing. It was really difficult to pick any favourites as they were all standout dishes. It is clear to see that they put in a lot of care into what they make. It is a small intimate restaurant which made it even more special. We are definitely planning to visit again.

What an incredible place. We had the 7 course tasting menu with the wine flight. Every course was amazing. They change the menu every month, my favourite on this menu was the Plaice with scraps. Steve is so passionate about his customers having a great experience, it was lovely for him to come and have a chat with all the customers. Will definitely be going again

Food was amazing, staff were lovely and it's so nice that the Chef actually brings you some of your courses and has a chat. We only had 5 courses but that was plenty. Will definitely go back.

We visited with some friends on a Saturday evening and had the seven course tasting menu with the wine pairings, and an extra bottle of wine for good measure! We'd waited about three months to get into the restaurant so were very excited to be wined and dined by Steve and his team and it was certainly worth the wait! The food was incredible and was certainly of Michelin star quality, and each course got better and better throughout the evening. The charming, attentive staff were also superb and made us feel very special. We will certainly be back again in the not too distant future. Thanks to Steve and his excellent team!

This is without doubt our favourite restaurant to go to. Absolutely out of this world food, amazing friendly service and a fantastic ambience. 100% recommend.

We received a voucher for Eileen’s as a gift and I was a little hesitant being a Wetherspoons/carvery girl. I’ve never really experienced the smaller portion type meals and have always been deemed a bit of a bland eater. After a bit of convincing we went for our meal last night. What can I say, I’m a changed woman. What a taste sensation! There is not one bit I didn’t enjoy and if it was socially acceptable I probably would’ve licked my plate. Looking at the menu at first I thought ‘how does anyone make a turnip taste good?’ Turns out Steve can. This was honestly one of the best eating experiences I’ve had in years and I look forward to bringing others here to experience an incredible array of dishes. Thank you to the staff at Eileen’s who were also fabulous with their service and for giving us an all round incredible experience. I didn’t take any photos because the food was in mouth before I could even get the camera out!!!

My boyfriend and I came here last night for dinner. The staff were so friendly and attentive and the food was incredible. Every dish is so carefully thought out - all the different flavours and textures, it was just spectacular. They also gave us a card to say happy anniversary which was a lovely extra touch! Additionally they catered for my nut allergy without any issue (just told them in advance). We had a perfect evening - got the 7 courses (which included the most amazing bread and whipped butter and mince pie muffins to finish) but were absolutely stuffed so would go for the 5 courses next time.

Simply superb! My sister treated me to dinner at Eileen’s for my 50th birthday whilst I was back in the UK in May, from Australia 🇦🇺 It was divine! Each course was delicious, the service and atmosphere was fabulous and Steve came out and chatted, which was lovely. 🫶🏽 💯 coming back when on my next trip to Blighty!

I've never experienced anything like it. The staff were attentive, the food was AMAZING, the chef came out to speak to every table - great personal touch, the wine was perfectly paired with the food, there were just the right amount of tables in there....just awesome. I can't wait to go back!

What a experience! The food was amazing 7 courses with paired wine. We were absolutely blown away. Each course left us in anticipation for the next. By the time the first pudding course came we were full. But I couldn’t pass on another pudding! I can’t wait to go back and try another menu

Absolutely superb! The four of us all opted for the seven course tasting menu, and a couple went for the paired wines. All of the courses were beautiful, and interesting. Absolute stand out favourite for me was the salmon poached in olive oil. Steve was so nice and chatted with us towards the end of our meal, and went into detail about some of the dishes. The whole experience was excellent; from the intimate dining room, the brilliant service, and the incredible food. Would 100% recommend, and we will be back!

An amazing experience. Came for a dinner here with my family and everyone has different dietary requirements, we were each presented our own menus to accommodate it. Even the wine pairing for each dishes were changed for the vegans when needed.

Food was good, but not exceptional. We were in the lower/back part of the restaurant which lacked ambiance. Have to say the service was just a bit lacking - we were there to celebrate a birthday, there was a card on the table but not a mention from any of the waiters. There was no intro to the restaurant (the chef/the name etc). The overview of dishes was just a recite of the menu (which you could hear on repeat as all tables were served at a similar time) but there was little knowledge of any dishes. It just fell short unfortunately

A MUST!!!! Former Master Chef finalist serves seasonal food at a reasonable price. Wine pairing is available on the 5 or 7 course taster menu. Mid week availability easier than at weekends and parking available to the rear.

Lovely staff, absolutely delicious tasting menu and an all round wonderful evening at Eileen's.

Steve brings something seriously good to the tiny town of Ampthill. The food (tasting menu FTW) is exceptionally good, and the wine pairings are both spot on and intriguing. Don’t be fooled by the lack of starched tablecloths and fripperies: this is on par with any top London restaurant in terms of quality, flavours, and skill. Presentation might be half a notch down on the very best, which won’t bother you after you stick a fork in it. I’m giving Steve and extra half mark for taking the time and trouble to train up very young (but keen as keen can be) young front of house staff during COVID. Chapeau! No photos as, frankly, I was too busy eating the 7 great courses.

Eileen’s is a little Gem. On arrival you are met and served by the most friendly of staff. The food is delicious and the wines chosen compliment the dishes perfectly. Steve and his 2nd chef came out, explained the courses and they were keen to know our opinions. It’s a lovely intimate restaurant. We look forward to returning.

This is a truly superb restaurant - exactly what eating out should be. We went for the first time on Tuesday 17th August (should imagine it's slightly more intimate on weekdays compared to weekends) and we will most definitely be returning. With its Michelin Plate, we were expecting good food, but it exceeded expectations - each dish of our 5-course menu was absolutely sublime. Steve and his team cook with such technique and flair, if visiting during August the red mullet dish will not disappoint, it was cooked to perfection. The whole meal was also expertly paired with some interesting and lovely wines, too - with each wine given all flavour and style explanations. The service from the front-of-house team was also faultless. Friendly, professional and well organised - never felt over-bearing but we never felt neglected. A really nice personal touch was a birthday card on the table as we'd booked for my birthday. There was also nothing pretentious about the feel of the restaurant, given the level of dining, so you're guaranteed a relaxed and comfortable welcome. If anyone has visited and enjoyed The Forest Side hotel in the Lake District, when it used to be under head chef Kevin Tickle, Eileen's will tick all the same boxes. I reviewed Kevin's menu and the expertise with locally-sourced produce from Steve was very reminiscent. We're delighted to find a restaurant with this level of excellence not only outside of London and local, but on our own street! Some might quibble about it being pricey, but we thoroughly recommend this restaurant - especially for a special occasion - it is worth every single penny. Keep up the good work Steve, Amy and the team - we can't wait to return!

We had the privilege of being invited to a dear friends birthday celebration at Eileen’s. Having never experienced Michelin Star dining before we were intrigued to know if it warranted the hype and the price tag? We were not disappointed! Lovely intimate premises. Staff are friendly, attentive but not overbearing. Food and drinks were simply stunning!!!!!! We had the 7 course tasting menu with accompanying wines. First class! Had an espresso martini on arrival that was amazing. Not cheap but it’s fine dining at its best and IMO worth every penny!
