I wanted to take some time out to write a review on Hops and Chops. It's such a stand out restaurant in terms of food and service. The variety of drinks is sublime and I have never had food like it. Even vegetables taste incredible and stand out from anything else. I know it sounds crazy, but go and try it to see what I mean. I've had about 7 or 8 meals from here now and many more at the Sister restaurant Smoke Pit in town. Only once have I had a bad experience and it was rectified immediately, without quibble. The price is about the ceiling of what I would expect to pay and wouldn't want prices to increase further than what they have done over the years, especially for steak. I don't mind paying for good food and drink but there is a limit. Keep up the good work Hops and Chops. We will see you again soon!

First visit to this great little restaurant. We had booked in advance and were seated immediately upon arrival. The staff were friendly and offered advice on some of the less known drinks, which was helpful. We were attended to by the waiting staff fairly swiftly. Our food arrived in a timely manner. The portions were huge and everything tasted great. Would gladly eat here again.

Excellent food and service. Henry was very attentive and curious, nothing was too much trouble. Made our 36th anniversary special with a candle and a glass of bubbly. The t bone steak was one if the best I've ever had and the accompanying veg was cooked to perfection 🥰......well done to all staff 👏

We went for Sunday lunch and the food was amazing the service was perfect. My in-laws traveled from Newark and were over an hour late because of traffic. The staff were so good, really understaning and helpful. We had a great time and left so full of lovely food I couldn't eat dinner. Also well done to the awesome waitress what a star, don't ever let her leave she's a keeper 😊

The food here is incredibly tasty, I'm justvreally disappointed at the small size of the burger. It looks like a child burger but biting into it is nothing less than complete satisfaction and cooking to absolute perfection. At £16 a burger its a steep price, the taste is well worth it though. Chips are average but the sauce (bone marrow and red wine) was the best I've ever had. Bigger portions would have secured 5 stars. I did ask for an extra pattie before ordering but was declined which is odd.

Had amazing food both times we have been. Food is 10/10, service is 10/10 and very well priced. Shame about the drunk female customer causing a scene for no reason over £2. Staff handled it perfectly. We will be back next week.

A genuinely 5-star experience! We found this place by accident yesterday but didn't have time to stay, so we came back today for Sunday lunch. My wife and I both had the roast beef, and it was, no word of a lie, the best Sunday roast either of us have had for a very long time. The desserts were equally delicious - I had the sticky toffee pudding and Ruth had the After Eight dark chocolate crème brulee. And to top it off, the Three Hills Triple IPA was fantastic. The whole place has a lovely, relaxed, slightly quirky vibe, and Henry was the perfect host - friendly, welcoming, and completely on top of what was needed in the room. Can't recommend highly enough and we'll definitely be back 🥰

Currently the best steaks available in Northampton. Visited for a for a late lunch. Really nicely appointed dining space within an understated building on St Crispins. Ordered the 12oz Ribeye, and the 18oz T-Bone accompanied by Roasted Bone Marrow, Crab and Chilli Butter, Bearnaise Sauce, Onion Rings and Chips. Both steaks were ordered medium rare. Oh my days, these steaks were spectacular! Juicy, succulent and meltingy tender. Whoever is in the kitchen clearly knows their way around cuts of beef. It's not cheap mind you, our bill came to nearly £80 without wine, but it's worth every single penny. Returning soon.

Best Rib eye I've had. Dry aged perfection. Highly recommended the marmite butter to go with and the crushed new potatoes were amazing 🤗

Fantastic restaurant, so happy we found this gem. Visited for a Sunday roast and can say one of the best I've ever had. The beef was excellent, the veg beautiful and the potato's perfectly roasted. Will be back soon, great atmosphere and very friendly staff.

My friend and I went for a Sunday Roast, and a pudding, and the food was DIVINE, it was cooked fresh, it was piping hot, and so tasty. The chocolate orange brownie was off the charts, best brownie ever! 😍

What an absolute Diamond of a restaurant! Can’t believe this brilliant restaurant has been around and we didn’t know! Fantastic food, brilliant atmosphere and great service, what more can you ask for… Steaks were perfectly cooked, burger was a monster and we all thoroughly enjoyed our evening. If you haven’t tried Hops and Chops or it’s sisters restaurant The Smoke Pit you have to get a visit booked! Northamptons best kept secret that I am proud to recommend and refer!

Sunday lunch and I had roast lamb. Meat was very tender but did find it hard to carve my way through the amount of fat in the meat. Everything else was tasty.. Lovely roasties, cauliflower cheese greens and gravy. White chocolate bread and butter pudding was super.

Well-deserving of 5 stars. We went for a Sunday roast lunch and were not disappointed. The roast lamb was excellent and the accompaniments were very nice. I can also recommend the pork belly bites starter.

This place is amazing. The hospitality I got from Nathaniel was brilliant. He made sure my party was looked after. All of the servers were brilliant and happy to help. Such a good atmosphere and brilliant place. Well worth a shout if you are nearby.

I had high expectations for this place. It was great that they had a some different cuts such as hanger and picanha. The pork crackling was amazing. It lost a star because I thought there would be a wider range of ales available bearing in mind the name of the restaurant. Also we had to ask for steak knives. You shouldn't have to do that when you've ordered steak.

Had an absolutely lovely meal here. Rhubarb Gin cocktail was delicious. Shared a pork belly starter , more then enough for one person. My steak was cooked to perfection, as was the lamb dish. Shared a dessert too which was a lovely end to the meal, all washed down with a wonderful red wine ! All the staff were really friendly and welcoming Great value for money , certainly will be back

We went here for a small family celebration, our first time. Nice atmosphere, staff were great, and the food lovely. Went for a parfait starter and linguine main. Ate all of it. The steak menu looked good but a little too expensive for me.

A great place to dine with friends and family. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is very rich and full of flavour. A little expensive but this reflects the flavour of the dishes.

Best place for steak in Northampton without a doubt...(my opinion). Enjoyed super T-bone with fresh greens vegetables, onion rings and mac n cheese. Would definitely recommend.

We’ve come to this restaurant without booking on a spontaneous Saturday night out. They were fully booked, but then told us we could eat at the bar. After a bit they managed to find a table and kindly moved us. That’s when we received our food. It was one of the best stakes i’ve had in a long time. My partner and I were very happy with the food and our drinks and can’t wait to be back!
