What a beautiful place to visit. I highly recommend if you enjoy walks and wonderful views you head to Lake Vyrnwy. It is a beautiful dam great for talking photos. Parking: A new carpark is currently being created ready for spring 2022. Toilets: There are free very clean toilets available. Accessibility: whilst most areas are paved, it is rather steep in some areas which my be tricky for wheelchair users.

Absolutely amazing place , well worth a visit. The fact that you can drive all the way around, plus visit the waterfall adds to the beauty of the location .

Beautiful spot, not too busy in the morning (I was there at 10am), good parking and picnic area on the west side (from the dam end). If you want some spectacular scenery and don't mind the very narrow roads, take either the road on the west side up to Llanymawddwy (see photos), or the top road to Bala. The driving circuit around the entire lake is worth doing, even with the tree cover at lake side.

Lake Vyrnwy is a reservoir in Powys. It is great for a stop off point. It has tables set around the lake at different points. Wonderful for some watersports and sailing. Even some bird watching, some may even join you for your picnic. A beautiful spot to stop.

A really beautiful lake and dam. Recommend visiting. Great walk around the lake or cycle even just drive around. I would recommend taking food. There are some walks around there as well. There is parking in various places all around but a big parking area by the dam itself and a park right next to it as well. There is a cafe as well. Sandwiches are over priced for just a sandwich. The toilets in it are so disgusting the public toilets are better to use. There are a few water sports available there.

Stunning walk, can park up in plenty of lay-bys around the lake and to walk round the whole lake takes around 3 to 4 hrs along very quiet road, lovely cafe at the main dam also for half way pit stop.

Visited the lake, & surrounding area last week, what a joy to go somewhere unspoilt. The reservoir is home to the RSPB Lake Vyrnwy reserve. Plenty of scenic hikes, bike rides, & picnic spots along the lake, kayaking, play park & nearby coffee shop. ( clean toilets ). & the perfect view from Lake vyrnwy hotel & spa, relax with a drink overlooking the lake on the terrace. Amazing scenery.

Very nice place to visit, some good stop off points and picnic areas as we drove all the way around, some good waterfalls and Woodlands, very peaceful. The dog enjoyed the shingle on shore and the access to the water, lovely place for all.

The bird hide here is absolutely amazing. Then a short trip to the other end of the reservoir for a picnic ๐Ÿงบ by the waterfall. This place should be on everyone's list of places to go.

Fantastic views from the Dam and of the Dam, the lake water is very low at the moment too. Nice little cafe at the side but a little expensive.

Flooded in the late 1800s to provide water for Liverpool, Lake Vyrnwy has something for everyone. A lakeside drive, although it can be difficult to see the Lake on some occasions, walking and cycle routes, water sports, a few shops and of course history. At the time of writing the levels have fallen a little and the flooded village is just starting to be visible. Eat locally, take a picnic or spoil yourself at the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel
