This is one of my most favourite places to visit when I am holidaying in North Wales. The car park is a reasonable size, has excellent toilets and has a regular coffee van and ice cream van. The forest provides lots of different graded and way marked walks where you might get to spot Red Squirrels. The beach is a vast mostly sandy expanse (some pebble areas mostly near the dunes). One thing that is important to note is that the walk from the car park onto the beach includes a very steep climb down a dune onto the beach... making access difficult if you have restricted mobility. I have arthritis and found it hard going and painful but well worth it as it is only a very brief section. Part of the beach is out of bounds to dogs but the dog friendly area is huge even when the tide is in. There is a tidal island which is wonderful for bird watching... watch you don't get stuck there by the incoming tide though! It is a wonderful place for a day out πŸ˜€

One of our favourite beaches. Plenty of parking, toilets, water bottle/ dog bowl water taps and usually icecream van present. Extensive area of clean beach, ( check tide times) and many footpaths through Newborough Warren. We visited early May so quiet, I'd imagine very popular in school hols. Pay with card on exit.

Probably the best place to visit in the busy summer season. It gets busy but you can avoid the crowds. The beach walk at low tide is a big hit and can feel like a mass migration of people at busy times, it’s best to do this in winter when it’s quiet! Don’t forget to do the woodland walks or bike rides. The routes are clearly marked, but forget the indicative times. The Corsica ride is meant to be 2 hours, it takes 35 mins if you ride at a normal speed! The same applies for the walks so don’t be deterred. The sea is shallow and popular with kite surfers as it’s always windy, even on the hottest of day! You now need to pay on exit by car or cash, this creates a long long traffic jam, so expect to wait 15 mins before getting out of there. Really worth a visit.

Lovely forest with trails for as much or as little walking to suit needs. Fun with head torches or during the day. Reasonable parking charges too. Payment upon exit.

Lovely place best of both worlds beach and forest. Lots of different trails to choose from different ability levels. Dogs loved it. Managed to see a red squirrel but unfortunately wasn’t quick enough to photograph it. Definitely worth a visit and looking forward to revisiting as soon as I can.

A whole day out. Beach, walking, exploring. Set of toilets in main car park. Usually there is a lovely little pop up cafe van and ice cream van. With picnic tables and bins nearby. Our favourite place to visit when on Anglesey.

We actually visited the beach but it was so windy and cold we retreated further inland. Its an odd looking forest but quite nice. I'm going again next week so maybe I shall have a different experience then

I love this place but it does get a bit too touristy in the summer. ( From a local who likes their space πŸ˜‰ ) It is pay to park but they do accept cards Llandwyn is also great to visit - make sure you check the tides first.

Wonderful evergreen first on the West Coast of Anglesea. The home of the island's biggest red squirrel population. Also packed full of fungi and lichens for those that like that side of things. The squirrels are highly elusive, and you probably need to go off the gravel paths and into the forest on one of the many trails, to see them. Be very quiet. We were lucky enough to see them in the treetops, although that quickly leave the area once they have spotted you

If you like a long walk, down to a beautiful beach; or just want to stick to the woods( no pun intended) this is the place for you. Be advised they are doing work in the area and trucks are using forest road also.
