The ladies here truly work miracles & give 100% to any animal or bird brought here. The love & devotion they give each & every creature is unbelievable, including taking them home for night feeds & monitoring. I have brought many birds here over the years when my cat has caught them & most have been nursed back to health and released. I read with disbelief the 1 star review which seems to relate to them charging for rehoming? For every pet rehomed there are the basic costs of food, litter, heating, building maintenance, neutering/spaying & microchipping as well as vet health checks and medicines. There is also all the costs for animals like ducklings, hedgehogs, birds of prey, swifts etc who will be re-released to the wild or those who are too old or disabled to be rehomed so remain at the sanctuary & not a single penny will be received for them other than through kind donations. Rehoming charges deter those who would use cats for "bait" for dog fighting & ensures a person is committed to animal ownership & the costs than can occur (from someone who had a £1k vets bill earlier this year). Am sure reviews like this hurt, especially when the ladies work so hard, please keep up the great work Pet Samaritans, you really are wildlife angels.

After a bad storm we found a very young baby tawny owl, we hand fed her and raised her for 10 weeks,. I called the pet Samaritans as we had done all we could for her as she was getting old enough to go into the wild, The lovely staff took her off our hands to finish the job we started to get her ready for he big skys ! What a wonderful place, so kind and no animal to big or small. I left knowing that one day she would see the world thanks to these people x thank you x

I've taken 2 injured hedgehogs and a woodpigeon to Pet Samaritans. It is a fantastic rescue centre. The staff are very friendly and genuinely care for every creature. They do their very best to rehabilitate them for release back into nature. Those that can't be released spend the rest of their lives at the centre in conditions as close to their natural habitat as possible. I can't recommend this wonderful rescue enough!

Took a young jackdaw here, they put it with other young jackdaws and will get it ready to be released into the wild again. What they do here is amazing

No experience to share. It was closed when I got there and when I called the number the mailbox was full - and the fledgling died. So a total waste of time

Really grateful that they were able to take a young sparrow my cat had caught and was using as a toy. Good hygiene standards. The lady I spoke to (sorry I didn't catch your name was!) was really pleasant and understanding.

The staff are amazing and do a fabulous job looking after the animals - I was heart broken to be told the charge for a cat we had fallen in love with was £170... devastated and just couldn't afford it at this time.... Having recently lost our old Jack Russell this was so disappointing

I understand they have over head costs etc but this is clearly a standard charge and set fee. This should be made clear on their website and over the phone before booking an appointment.
