👍👍 Lovely place to stroll around the reservoir. Easily reachable from Plymouth. Nice countryside view too on the way. Ample free parking. We took the one further up, the one near the bridge is a bit busy. People often mention walk,

You can walk 5 miles around this beautiful Reservoir predominantly on off road paths that sit between the water snd the road. The paths are not challenging but can be muddy after rain

Lovely area for a walk. We stuck to the tarmac path and did the loop around (about 4miles) Easy walking for all abilities. Lots of wildlife and pretty places. 2 ice cream vans here but they only take cash. Parking is free and you can park near the dam alongside the road but it does get busy during peak season.

Gorgeous family walks can be as long or as short as you like finish off with an ice cream! Also good running route. 3.5 miles to go all the way around only slight hills.

Undisturbed Burrator is surrounded by mixed woodland which sharply contrasts with the open moor and rugged Dartmoor tors. The reservoir is perfect for walkers, cyclists and horse riders due to its wealth of footpaths and bridleways. Many of the trails lead on to Dartmoor so it makes an ideal starting point for longer trips. The circular walk which follows the lanes around the water is ideal for families as it is easy going and flat. It will take between 1.5 - 2 hours to complete and is approximately 3.5 miles. Parking is possible at various locations including the Quarry car park, Norsworthy Bridge and the Dam. Low cost bank fishing for both rainbow and brown trout is available at this scenic water; permits are sold at the garage in Yelverton. Being within Dartmoor National Park. The National Cycle Route 27 runs near to Burrator. Ice cream vans visit the dam, Norsworthy Bridge and Sharpitor car park. Burrator Reservoir is available to the public all year round amd it's free

Stunning views, pathway all the way round for a good days walk with dog friendly and pushchair/ wheelchair friendly entrances. Perfect for fishing. If you want something abit more structured, there is guided tours, fishing talks and many more events, clearly labelled at the dam. Free parking all the way round.

A beautiful spot to visit, particularly in quieter periods. Make sure you wear appropriate footwear as it can become very muddy.
