😠 I've had enough of HSBC full stop. First off they close the wandsworth branch so now have to go out may way to go to the Wimbledon branch. I work long hours during week so can only get here on Saturdays. So I got here to withdraw a sum larger than what is allowed from machine only to find their cash... I work long hours during week so can only get here on Saturdays. So I got here to withdraw a sum larger than what is allowed from machine only to find their cash counters are closed on a Saturday. The staff didn't care either so gonna move away from this bank and go somewhere else. Level of service is disgraceful. If they concentrated on actual customer service instead of trying to push everyone online things might improve but I'm still leaving and taking my business elsewhere

An absolute disgrace. Staff have no clue what their own processes are so are totally incapable of executing the simplest of tasks. Apparently they don't open bank accounts in branch despite their website and call centre explaining this is the only way to do it. Took 50 mins to speak with the bank manager to find out it needs to be done over the phone; they booked an appointment for the next day however no call attempt was made until 4 days later. By this point I have joined another bank who knows what customer service is and how to provide it. Serious training and clarity needs to be provided in this company.

HSBC sent me pages of pages to fill out after I have been with them for years and then wrote I didn't do it right and threatened to cancel my account . I thought they were joking - they weren`t . This was a long line of a comedy of errors on their part so I went to another bank instead . This new other bank told me HSBC didn`t accept a customer because their name was too long to write on the cheque book so that customer came to them. So useless.

Been a client with HSBC since 2006, had to visit the Wimbledon branch due to relocation. Never had worse experience with a bank this whole time, impolite, not professional staff. Shame to be part of this big name

I usually don’t have a problem going to hsbc, but me and my brother went to take a big amount if not a normal amount out for different reason, it was the same amount but was questioned not once but multiple times. We had put this money in couple days before taking it back out again but that was because it was old notes and we needed new notes before years end as they won’t accept old notes after. The one who served me asked me why we are taking it out once and I gave my reason, which was not needed. But next to me for my brother the one he was being served by kept on questioning where everyone can hear. It was really disgusting and made us so uncomfortable, as if we were doing something wrong, once I walked off the women asked my brother if he is okay after asking so many questions. In no way does it state that we cannot take out money after putting it in couple days earlier. We felt humiliated and disgusted as well as disappointed as I’ve never had this experience. I know it is their job but having to question on the spot? With our money? And to give a reason? Out loud? Not only after my brother gave his reason but the women continued to question his reason and doubting him, it was so wrong I cannot put into words how dissatisfied and disappointed I am. HSBC was one of the most comfortable bank for me to go to because of the service I have always received, I feel so uncomfortable to go back to carry on with my business.

Do not use HSBC. Use Metrobank across the road. I used HSBC for years and never considered changing bank until I tried a different bank out and was blown away with the difference in service and quality difference in their mobile apps. HSBC is awful, both as a current account and business account. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have switched to Metrobank and have no idea why I didn't do it sooner or why I ever put up with HSBC and their service or lack there of.

Came in to open a savings account, I am a foreigner and don’t know how the system works here. The woman was very respectful and did not rush me. They opened two new accounts for me for my savings and explained what I should use each one for. Each time I have gone in they have been lovely to deal with. Thank you!

Terrible experience at the Wimbledon branch yesterday. I was trying to withdraw a significant sum of money at the counter. The teller did the usual checks and then proceeded to count the money in a rushed fashion so quickly I couldn't check myself and he wasn't sure himself. I was a bit anxious as the tall man customer at the counter to my left was watching. The teller then puts the money on the weighing machine..it doesn't tally. So he counts it again and the same thing happens. He keeps repeating this a total of 6 times. I asked him if there was a problem and that I've never had this issue before. He proceeds to blame the 'new notes' and then blames the weighing machine. At this point I am super anxious as the customer to my left and behind me realise I'm taking out quite a lot of money. The teller then offers me a room to count the money myself. At this point the queue behind has grown and an elderly couple have been waiting almost 15 mins. A customer behind me pipes up that it's not a good idea for me to count the money in a separate room in case there was an error. The teller then proceeds to ask the lady teller to count the money. She does so at a pace that I can count & check for myself and then puts it on the weighing machine, it all adds up. It took a total of nearly 25 mins making me late for another appointment. I left the bank in fear of being mugged as the customers around me knew what was happening. The man teller was totally incompetent. He lacked awareness of the risk he was putting me at. From the experience I had yesterday I don't know why he is working in a bank, he simply could not count money accurately and blamed the 'new notes' and the weighing machine resulting in his fellow cashier having to count it for him. I sincerely hope the manager of the branch is aware of the sheer incompetence of this man.

Don't bank here, by far the worst bank in Wimbledon by far. Staff are clueless and happy to discuss personal details out in the open. Also wait times for staff to even help you are unacceptable

This branch is the worst in the area, the first people you have contact with have not clue about almost anything, they are not able to find basic information with your ID, not even if you tell them the last digits of your account, totally useless, they didn't know if I was able to open another new account and they sent me home without an answer for that, can you believe it?! They said they would contact me by phone to let me know about that. Seriously? That is the level of ignorance and incompetence of this branch is unbelievable and the person who is in charge doesn't care, and he doesn't know what is happening there. Having 4 people at the entrance chatting to each other and watching tik tok videos while you are trying to get something done is a waste of resources, but then you have to spend 1 h. waiting on the phone to get help. HSBC responsible manager, have a look into this branch and improve it if you really care about customers.

Had the best customer service experience in HSBC Wimbledon today from Teddy. My account was having issues with transferring money and I needed to urgently transfer a deposit for a flat. Teddy took my matter seriously which I really appreciated and was very kind and patient. He spent the best part of half an hour helping me fix my account and was just in general a very lovely person. Great customer service! Thank you.

Writing as I found. I was first through the door. I have been with HSBC in UK, Guernsey and Hong Kong since 17 April 1955. I was dealt with promptly. Gilberto was courteous, knowledgeable, and patient. Five Stars from me, but 18 minutes after opening a queue of eleven people had built up! More evidence if more was needed, that the Canary Wharf bosses are simply not interested in retail customers. They close branches and do not staff remaining branches adequately. 'They' blame online banking, but in reality the problem for 'them' is us!

Please train your staff its unacceptable to ask personal questions. I came in to exchange my old bank notes and was inundated with questions such as why did I have old notes and how did I obtain them. To add, your staff also said "I look too young" to have old bank notes. What an ignorant thing to say.

I went in hoping to get help on car loan and just information about getting a loan as I have never taken a loan. But the staff was very unhelpful. I asked to book a appointment for another day to just ask questions and have more information about taking a loan as she said they were short staffed. She said I couldn’t even do that and told me to go online. I said clearly I wasn’t taking the loan out today just needed information. And still proceeded to say go online.

I don't have enough time to write 10 pages about incompetence and about my experience with this bank wich lasted about one year and it was disgusting. Before my rating this branch had 2.9 stars out of 5. I'm pretty sure that's the level. Probably even lower.

Terrible, perfect example of the death of high street banks, but Lloyds across the road is somehow better. At HSBC you stand in line for 20mins to talk to the solitary person who seems to continually getting up to push a buzzer on the wall to get help, but no-one arrives. They then try and help the customer which makes the line even longer. Finally it's your turn, only to be told that you have to go around the corner and wait another indeterminate amount of time behind another group of people. Finally get seen, I check when I checked in to HANG on Google, 49 minutes of waiting, just to print some statements because the their machine was broken. Oh and now their tablet can't print because the printer is broken and we have to move to another terminal.. Coming up to 1HR now...
