Absolutely beautiful food and a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere. My husband and I found out about this hidden gem on TripAdvisor and are so glad we did - we couldn't fault the place! Meal portions were deceptively large and everything was fresh and aromatic. Authentic Bombay street food is mixed with traditional dishes so there really is plenty to choose from. The staff were friendly without being overbearing and overall we had a fantastic experience. The first of many more visits I'm sure!

We'd heard this was one of the best rated Indian restaurants in Glasgow, but it was on trip advisor so you never really know. But it really was amazing. The waiter was extremely helpful and informative and stopped me from way way way over ordering. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who asked.

The best and most authentic Indian curry I had in the town. We were a group of 4 and tried out different starters and mains. All were 10 out of 10. From my more than 30 years of experience with Indian cuisine, I can tell that the food Couldn't be better. The lamb chops starter and the monkfish dish was the star of the show according to my friends. They also have an extended menu for the vegetarian which I found quite helpful and unique as a vegetarian. I had the tawa sabzi which was a mix of maybe 6-8 kinds of vegetables. Could taste freshness in every bite. The amount of oil was controlled to perfection as in my past experience found the curried of most of the places oily. From the waiter, I got to know that they don't use any Ghee or food colour in food which expresses their concern for healthy food. The spices used were fresh and not too much in amount which you can tell as you eat. The service was the best. Couldn't imagine this level of service at this price point. Was my first visit but can guarantee it won't be the last. Would recommend it to people who really know Indian curries.

One of most amazing Indian restaurant. Foods are halal, delicious and plated beautifully. The best battered prawn we had in Glasgow.

Mind-blowing food at Madras Cafe. Went it on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was quiet. I’m a fuzzy eater. Was looking for something lite for lunch. The menu looked appealing and was in a dilemma about which dish to take. Thanks to the waiter who helped me when I told him to pick something lite for me. Had a South Indian mixed vegetables dish with lentils and the classic chicken tikka. Both of them were outstanding. Could taste the freshness of vegetables. The chicken had a smokey flavour of coal which I guess was cooked in a clay oven run by coal. The meat here was surprisingly not dry like other places I ate in. Good balance of spices and freshness everywhere. Another thing that surprised me was their washroom 😃. It was clean and shiny which is surprising at places with this price range. Thanks to Madras Cafe for their incredible food and service. Will return and definitely recommend it to my friends.

I'm changing my reviews based upon our second visit. We didn't have a great experience in our first visit, but Hussain ensured our opinion changes and personally invited us to come over again. In our second visit, we really enjoyed the food and it was served exactly how we had ordered. The food not only tasted great but the service was impressive from Hussain himself. We had also noticed the ambience was significantly improved and was very soothing for a perfect dinner with family. I'd highly recommend this restaurant because we have seen a massive upgrade ourselves in all departments from our first visit.

A really nice place for a date, night out with friends or really any occasion. The decor is thematic but not overwhelming and it makes for a cozy, relaxed but refined atmosphere. We were very well attended to by the friendly staff, who kindly took note also of dietary requirements. The food prepared by their award winning chef was the best - actually being able to feel and identify so many different flavors was amazing. All of us- my Glaswegian foodie friend, my spice-loving Turkish husband and myself were impressed. And no feeling of heaviness or bloating afterwards or the next day! If you’re willing to take your Indian food to the next level - this is the place to go :)

The staff (one person) at the restaurant had a very idiotic attitude. After paying the bill I gave my feed back about the so called Veg Biryani which was nowhere near biryani flavor nor the ingredients. They had just put random veggies with no flavor at all (no salt nor spice and who adds ivy gourd in biryani). When told about, the one who is supposed to be the manager there, told we cannot satisfy everyone's taste buds and we change according to the locals. Then why the hell you call it an Indian restaurant if you cannot keep your authenticity. Throughout our dinner duration none came to check how everything was, whereas the same person went around where others were seated with all his teeth visible checking how everything was. Such a disgusting attitude which really spoiled our evening. Never going to visit back again nor suggest the place to anyone. As all other dishes we ordered were good I have given that rating for the food. Learn to treat people equally. 25th Nov Thanks for your great response. You have mentioned respecting others and the main reason we gave this review was for the same. Not respecting people equally who visited your restaurant. We have visited multiple Indian restaurants in Glasgow and had Veg Biryani as well, but to my surprise never saw Ivy gourd in one. Maybe all other restaurants are yet to diversify. Also in recent conversations with known circles, we did get to understand that we were not the only ones to be treated with such disrespectful behavior at your restaurant and that says it all...

A great and authentic culinary experience with very friendly staff and southern style Indian food. Staff will guide you through the menu and the best experience. Wines however are a bit sub standard with a generous mark up, I would be happy to pay a little more and have a proper bottle - overalls great experience - best to book on en ends

Ate here recently for the first time and won’t be the last time. Clearly marked vegan section and other items such as starters clearly marked where vegan friendly. Good service, fabulous food and nice friendly atmosphere. Good value too.

Absolutely amazing meal at Madras Cafe! We were so excited to find a local, reasonably priced, Indian restaurant with exquisite food! From the starter to our dessert, every mouthful was just bursting with flavour. Hussain was incredible as our waiter and was extremely knowledgeable about each dish; offering us alternatives when the vegetarian option wasn't available. We will definitely be back! Hats off to the chef and staff. Thank you!

Outstanding food and service. Really stands out amongst the crowded market, many Indian restaurants in Glasgow but the quality of the food here and value for money is second to none. Special mention to Hussain for great service and doing everything possible to ensure that we had a great experience. We will definitely be back very soon. Our new favourite restaurant 😍

Had seen the great reviews and decided to give it a go. Ordering from the main menu we were really pleased with the flavours in everything we had, the garlic chilli chicken was delicious and the deserts were really good too. Will definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu.

OMG take my money.... This place is a different league! Without doubt the best curry I've had in Scotland 💯 everything is fresh and cooked to perfection, so tasty and well presented. Found out after we finished that they won an award for the best curry house in Scotland and employ the best southern Indian chef. Had a nice chat with the owner who is very passionate about his food and you can tell by the taste. I even tried a masala tea that he recommended and that was amazing. I work in Glasgow a lot and I will definitely 1000% be coming back again. Very nice 👌🏻

Visiting Glasgow to see a band and were looking for somewhere to eat, spotted this place was highly rated online and decided to pop in and try it. It’s not often that a restaurant genuinely passes all expectations you have of it but this place was absolutely fantastic. The staff members we spoke to were genuinely lovely people, attentive without being overbearing and promptly took our order. The food was excellent in both quality and taste, especially recommend the Chicken Karahi. If you’re on the fence about whether or not to visit here please don’t hesitate, you’ll be genuinely missing out. Will 100% be back when next in Glasgow. Thank you Madras Cafe!

We booked this restaurant from google after seeing some excellent reviews. Our expectations were high. It was busy for Monday. Staff told us they opened only last week. Amazing Indian food and even better service. Honestly, it’s like the best Indian meal we had in long time. I recommend this place without reservation. Will be back soon.

My brother and I had a beautiful three-course meal at Madras Cafe - Lots of interesting vegetarian choices for me and new-to-Glasgow-diners fish dishes too! Restaurant will look better with the funky photographic decor planned, but the food and guys were most welcoming. Looking forward to going back...

Visited today on the strength of previous reviews and we LOVED it! We had the Idli/Vada starter, veg pakora and poppadoms (with their delicious home made apple pickle). Masala Dosa and Tarka Subzip for the main with coconut rice and garlic & coriander naan. Really delicious veggie/vegan food, authentic flavours and lovely, friendly staff. Clean toilets and plenty of hand washing stations/sanitiser with good social distancing. Can't wait to come back! (ps the pics on their profile are of their actual food)

This restaurant is rather new, just 3 weeks operated when we had our early dinner there. The butter chicken was nice, the taste and texture suited well the name of the dish. Work nice with naan and rice. I personally do not prefer the masala stuffed in wrapped dosa, but the dosa itself very crispy!I’ll certainly order plain dosa next time. For eat-in in Indian-based restaurant, mango lassi is a must for me. And, I’m so satisfied with their thick & creamy well-flavoured mango lassi. I’ve heard their punjabi lamb is a must try too. Will definitely go again soon to try new dishes and and surely repeat plain dosa & mango lassi!

The food was incredible I don’t think I’ve tried anywhere as authentic as this establishment. Had a South Indian chilli garlic it doesn’t blow your head off just a mellow lovely taste to be enjoyed after some crispy Chicken pakora. It’s just a shame it’s not near our house. The staff were very attentive and the owner came round and chatted with us giving it a very friendly and almost family feel which was amazing. But what made the night was they give us some Homemade Gulab Jamun to try which was amazing. Again thank you very much for a fantastic meal and service.

My wife went for a pleasant meal here before our gig. The restaurant was surprisingly very quiet. I feel that the restaurant could do with a bit of a renovation as some parts of it look a little old and run down. The mirror in the toilet needs cleaned. Staff were friendly. Menu is extensive. Everything we ordered tasted nice apart from the special fries which I regret ordering. They were very basic and had spices on them which made them taste even worse. The naan bread was our favourite - very delicious. Our starters were also particularly nice. The restaurant is very affordable especially if you choose the pre theatre menu. Overall I we enjoyed our meal but was expecting better, considering the excellent reviews on Google and Tripadvisor but maybe we just ordered the wrong things.

We went here for a lovely midweek meal. The food was delicious and so fresh and was easily amended for those who were vegetarian and wanted something specific. The menu has allergens on every item and has a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options. There was even a gluten free bread which I couldn’t believe - it was very tasty! The service was very friendly and the food wasn’t greasy and heavy like some other Indian restaurants. Would definitely return and recommend.

Madras Cafe, You Guys are really great in all aspects! Your service is great! Food packed well, everything is so fresh, nice and hot all the time, delivery in time! I've tried few of the dishes, those all are just superb. Butter Chicken is utterly delicious, I've never had the better anywhere else so far! Your Seekh kabab, Naan, Chicken Wings, Chicken Desi Handi... All of them are so good! You have earned to become our favourite restaurant and I'm sure anyone will become addicted to your food quality if they have once!

Me and my mom visited Glasgow, and we decided to check this place out. It had a warm and friendly atmosphere, and the food was amazing. The portions are excellent (not small). I loved that they had a wide selection of dishes, drinks, and appetisers. The food was delicious, I’d definitely recommend it for anyone who likes Indian food. I’d be wary about spices if you are sensitive to them, and ask the waiter if you have any questions, they were very welcoming and equipped to answer our questions. This place is a 10/10 for both me and my mom:D

We went there on a weekend and the staff was very welcoming and polite. The food was delish and the presentation was very unique and beautiful. Not your typical Indian restaurant, each dish has a uniqueness that’s waiting to amaze you. The samosa starters were crispy with tangy green chutney (dip) and enjoyed the North Indian main courses with paneer served hot with the fluffy naan breads. It’s a great place if you are dropping by just for some coffee and a chat after a long day of shopping nearby. We also loved the complimentary gulab jamun (Indian dessert) at the end which made it extra special since it was my husband’s bday. I’d definitely recommend and revisit.
