This was our first visit to Hopefield and I was really impressed. There are a lot of animals here, over 500 according to the literature, and they are all very well cared for. The enclosures for the larger animals are vast and well laid out. You can easily spend a few hours here getting round everything. Staff are friendly, admission is reasonable and there’s plenty of parking available too. The only bad point is the cost of some of the items in the gift shop is beyond extortionate, however this doesn’t merit deducting a star. Didn’t visit the cafe but will certainly visit again in future and would happily recommend to others

This was a really lovely trip. We had not heard of it before and wanted something to do for the day so came along here. Really reasonable price to get in and a great selection of animals to go and see. it's obvious they care about getting the animals better as they all had good enclosures and looked well fed. Nicely laid out with plenty of things to see. Not too busy even though the car park was full when we left and we will definitely go back.

Our family visited Hopefield yesterday. They have an assortment of rescued animals from sheep, alpacas, horses to snakes, cats, and cows. They have a double-decker soft play bus and a huge bouncy castle. There was face painting, sand making, ceramic painting, and a tombola stall. The staff were friendly, and the onsite cafe was clean and reasonably priced. We received free adult tickets to visit again, which was lovely. I would highly recommend families to visit the sanctuary. It was a great day out enjoyed by all the adults and kids in our group.

We visited on recommendation and it’s really lovely, the animals have so much space and are well cared for. Great for kids as they can interact with many of the animals. They have a very nice play area with climbing frames, slides, etc. and they have a soft play bus and bouncy castle outside which was a brilliant bonus. Only negative is I didn’t think much of the cafe food, fine for snacks with ice creams and crisps but the baked food wasn’t great so we’ll probably pack lunch it next time.

It’s a well maintained animal sanctuary. With lovely rescued animals, they even have stories of many animals they have. Good service and refreshing day out location.

Had a wonderful day out at the vegan/wellness fair, my second visit so far. I absolutely love this place, it is so vast and clean, and the animals are clearly well looked after. The vibe is amazing, as was all the food/treats we got this day.

Such a lovely place and it's so heartwarming to see how happy all of these animals are. We noticed how well-cared for they are (brushed, huge enclosures, happy-looking animals, etc). As a vegan for 5 years, it was lovely to find a place where it shows there are some people making a difference in the world. I appreciate what you do so much, thank you for saving these wonderful animals and giving them lovely homes. I sponsored the reindeer Comet as he melted my heart, will definitely be back to visit! Amazing little vegan cafe too with delicious food (can recommend the "sausage" rolls😋)

Great day out for Halloween, entrance was just shy of £30 for 3 of us and included a pumpkin, a couple of actovies including crafting and slime making. My 4 yo loved it especially the animals in the reptile house.

This place is great. So many animals to see. Giving the current situation, they take great care to keep all clean. We seen the staff/volunteers cleaning even the sanitiser bottle. Fantastic. They do take great care on keeping everything running smoothly while doing at most to keep public safe and confident. 👍👍

Have been to Hopefield's a fair few times including my work experience in 2013. Since then the place has expanded massively and they have taken in so many rescue animals of all kinds of unusual species too. A great charity that deserves a visit. Vegan cafe is lovely as well. Would definitely recommend anyone to visit.

Fantastic place to visit! You can see the how well cared for all of the animals are. Couldn't believe how cheap admission was for a family of 5! Has a lovely little gift shop and cafe. Free parking. They often do events too such as Halloween, Christmas and in the summer with inflatables, face painting etc. Well worth a visit.

Spent a bright sunny day with the kids in Hopefield Animal Sanctuary in Brentwood and it was super exciting :-) All the animals were so dear and well petted! Kids really enjoyed seeing so many animals at a closer proximity and were able to pet many of them! It was also the Sanctuary's 40th Anniversary and hence had a lot of kid friendly activities like Bungee jumping, Trampoline jumping, Bubble dome, Bus play, etc Overall it was a refreshing day, well spent with nature :-)

Wonderful, dog-friendly day out in any weather! Our family of 4 (Mum, Dad, 20yr, 15yr) + our dog River thoroughly enjoyed spending a couple of (slightly rainy) hours meandering around the sanctuary, looking at the, surprisingly, diverse range of animals living there. It was very clear that a lot of these animals are dealing with ailments that affects their day to day lives and it was very nice to see that they are so well cared for. The entry was quite cheap for what you get and the gift shop is lovely, and is usually the favourite hang out of several cats and a little dog that greet you on the way into the sanctuary. It's a little bit muddy when wet so it's worth bringing old trousers and some boots to walk around in, but even when it was pouring down we had a great time and would definitely recommend this for a day out for any age.

The farm cares for animals who were left in bad shape. They are doing a stupendous job in maintaining the farm and all the animals especially the cows which are HUGE. The place has a small cafe and is a must visit.

Lovely afternoon spent walking round and meeting all the lovely rescue animals. Really nice play area and a bonus of the soft play bus/bouncy castle but watch out for the dinosaur 🦖 he gets very hungry lol. One major bonus is that you get a return ticket for free. A hidden gem.

This place is brilliant and well worth a visit. Love that the cafe is now plant based although gutted that there was no hot food when I went despite it being reasonably early.

Lovely wander round Hopefield animal sanctuary with friends and their children. Explanations written on the enclosures to give background on why each animal has been rescued. Plenty of open space to enjoy a picnic (large gazebo also available) or enjoy the plant based cafe onsite. Thanks to the volunteers for a wonderful sanctuary. Will visit again!

Worth a visit to see the wonderful setup here for the care of animals, credit to all the people volunteering and working in this place. The reasonably priced entry fee is being put to a good use. Cafe on site and picnic facilities provided.

Lovely place but on a cold wet November day was a quagmire esp parking in a muddy hugely rutted field. Car got stuck. Varied animals great for kids. Pigs were enormous fun.

Reasonable price especially as this is to maintain the upkeep and health of all the beautiful animals and birds. The animals are cared for extremely well, clean habitat, well fed and attentive, knowledgeable helpful staff. You can also pet some of the animals. Dogs welcome. Some areas may be a little difficult to visit if you have mobility problems as it trails over the fields. Unfortunately during my visit there was a large section and several enclosures closed. Staff explained this was due to licensing and there were restrictions as to when these areas could be viewed. A little disappointing. There is free parking, but at the time of our visit the car park was full to bursting. Did not visit the tea room but it was very busy.

Found this place whilst looking for a new animal sanctuary to visit. It was a family fun event, so it made it more entertaining for the children. There were lots of animals to see and interact with. It was especially nice to see them running around large areas and clearly taken care of. The children enjoyed time on the bouncy castle, fun bus and each got their face painted. Not 5 stars as the toilets were not very clean and we found the cafe food and drinks weren't as good as previous reviews said.

A wonderful place with beautiful animals, as so well cared for. The vegan café is fantastic to with a surprising amount of choice even with the current restricted menu. Part of the Sanctuary was closed due to heavy rain making the paths extremely muddy, which is fair enough. Oh,and the vegan Hot Chocolate was really nice :)

We loved it here! Very well organised, everyone kept a distance from other guests. You can only go if you have booked. The animals are so well cared for. It was £18 for us and our two Grandchildren. We spent a lovely morning here and will go again.

This is a brilliant morning out with the kids. We all enjoyed seeing the wide range of animals they Hopefield supports. There were species that you wouldn't expect to see in an animal sanctuary and all of their stories are told which makes it even more heartwarming as you see them. Please support this important local charity with your visit.

Fantastic visit yesterday, as usual, made extra special with the vegan afternoon tea! Possibly one of the best afternoon tea's I've ever had, which was completely unexpected as I'm not vegan! Will definitely be having more of these alternatives in the future. Tailored perfectly to our group and so very scrumptious!
