This little store ouses quality and a very personal service, everything the big stores struggle to provide. My wife and I found everything we needed here.

Terrible. Avoid at all costs. My mum bought some trousers for work for £29.99. She took them back as they didn’t fit. The man in the shop was extremely rude and refused to give a refund. He then turned the receipt over and read off ‘no refunds’ off of the back.. this was not explained to her at the time of purchase and I don’t know about you but I’ve never studied a receipt on purchase.

I ordered a leather jacket, it arrived quickly but when I tried it on it was a bit small. Ordinarily that would be that but no, not at Charles Hedley, they ordered me a new one in the next size up at no extra cost. Thank you so so much, can't wait to get my new jacket! Would definitely recommend

Been into the Town 3 times during the week has on here it says they're open, yet they are shut. That ain't really good if you want peoples custom.

My dad needed a colourful tie for my grandads funeral service and they went all out to get him the two ties that he had whittled it down to. They ordered them in and they arrived a day earlier than we were told so was so very happy to know it was one less thing to worry about. I have purchased leather goods as gifts before from here and my dad has had a few jackets we have always found the gents who runs it to be friendly and very helpful. I recently had a problem with a new pair of Moleskin trousers purchased here. The people contacted Hoggs Of Fife and the following day a brand new pair were delivered for me - I didn't think service like this existed anymore ! Fantastic at all levels !! Speaks for itself.

I have been looking for a Tweed jacket and had an idea of the style I wanted, however the cost was way outside my price range as I’m retired. Bryan understood what I was looking for and picked a jacket that I could afford and it fitted perfectly. It may not be a expensive Tweed but it certainly suits me! Thank you and I shall return to get a few more items I need.

I got a vintage LV Keepall from them and i really love it. It was in a very good condition considering i don't want to lay much money on this one. Visited today, 10 January. I had been looking for a top quality Harris Tweed blazer. Bryan was able to help me understand the difference in quality and pricing of the blazers/jackets he's got on offer. Luck was with me as I was able to find just the right HT blazer that fits as though it was made for me AND a wool/cashmere overcoat I've been wanting for some time. Bryan and Vanessa couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. I'll definitely be back and will do my best to spread the word. On my 'soap box' now... it's common we bemoan the hollowing out of our city centers, empty shop fronts where once we could find honest, trustworthy traders. Charles Headley have been in business 40 odd years, knowledgeable, honest, helpful, impressive range of stock, grateful for our business. Please stop by and consider buying from them rather than making a purchase online.

Finding a luxury pre loved item can be a journey fraught with hazards along the way from authenticity to the actual quality all which can take the shine off your purchase. Not forgetting a huge amount of trust. Charles Hedley took that journey on my behalf with a little patience they got me to where I wanted to be. I would recommend you speak to them and take the journey together. You won’t regret it.

Had a gorgeous tweed bag as a gift with a purse. Purse was a bit big for my needs, although very lovely. Explained my dilemma and shop happily swopped the purse for a different one. Great staff and customer service. Chesterfield needs more shops like this!!! Thankyou ☺️ xx

Had a lovely hat, I think it's a federa style, bought me for Christmas the style and quality of it is very good, unfortunately it was too big. Was able to exchange it with no problem. Very good service and very pleased with my new hat 🤠. I have also a lovely Harris tweed jacket and a trilby style hat from the same shop which are great and comfortable always excellent service 👍.

Visited yesterday looking for birthday gifts- loved what was on offer- beautiful bags/ coats/jackets/accessories. Great range of stock and some gorgeous colours. Found a pair of proper lined leather gloves and matching purse. Great value for such well made items. Proprietor was very helpful and allowed us time to look. Great Experience. Ordered something using the website on Monday evening. I got an email confirming shipping, giving a time frame when I should get my delivery 2-5 days. Visited family over the weekend 5th November and had a walk around Chesterfield. I am so pleased we did, we popped into the indoor marked and found the Charles Hedley shop. I was greeted by Byron/Brian the shop owner. The service was fantastic and honest. I bought a sheep skin coat from his wide range of stock, which i had been after for a few years, exactly what i wanted. I also have to say the shop is fantastic with a stock of leather, sheep skin, barber etc. Well worth a visit, you will NOT be disappointed, however, be careful you may spend more than you wish, it`s that good. We will be visiting the shop again in December upon my next visit North.

Bryan has made my Christmas, yesterday he helped me to design the leather coat that I had been searching for, for years… It won’t be ready until February but I am so looking forward to it! Bryan was very professional, informative and kind. Many thanks Lorraine Bytheway
