Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales

Childrens hospital Hospital department

😠 Nurse fell asleep in one to one care with my brother, he vomited 5 minutes after our father returned to him HE COULDVE CHOKED. She then fell asleep on the front desk and our father had to stay up all night to watch him because clearly can’t be trusted. Nobody wanted to mention to the consultant that... People often mention staff, hospital, ward, care, years, nurses,

Nurse fell asleep in one to one care with my brother, he vomited 5 minutes after our father returned to him HE COULDVE CHOKED. She then fell asleep on the front desk and our father had to stay up all night to watch him because clearly can’t be trusted. Nobody wanted to mention to the consultant that his stitches were leaking ( it was brain fluid! ), and tried pulling a PULL OVER t shirt over his drain and knocked the drain out and could’ve killed him as they weren’t taking care!😡 don’t know how this has such a high rating- nurses are very uneducated especially at caring for patients as I have witnessed ( using a hoist and sling, checking pads, remembering medication, putting the beds down after personal care providing risk of patients falling out of bed ! , and more dangerous behaviour. Would think staff are more trained than this!! Appalling.

I’ve been in and out of hospital these past few months , the first time I was on the owl ward and the last 2 times I was on the jungle ward the staff were so lovely and so understanding and caring of my situation, Adele the worker who works with patients dealing with mental health issues and I’ve seen her every time I’ve been in hospital she’s so lovely and kind couldn’t ask for anyone better to come and speak to me about what I was going through

I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in Morriston and I got transported here. All the staff in rainbow ward/rocket are lovely. I was a inpatient here for 1month. Once I had to get a blood transfusion and my bampi is scared of blood so they put a sheet over it 😭. I was in remission on New Year’s Eve 2021.

One of the best children's hospitals in the country, they need more staff though.

So disappointed! Is more than 2 years being on waiting list for surgery to remove the tonsillitis and the nasal tissues! My son situation is getting worst and worst… he’s screaming and crying every night , snoring, caugh , he never close his mouth because he is not able to breathe on his nose ! During the day he caugh a lot and do a noise when he talks and obviously is hard to understand what he is saying and I can see people around they thing he got an handicap! But his Handicap is NHS system and his parents mental health which is very low , we have to go to work as well with 3 4 hours sleep ! having this 2 years waiting and nothing happens! I called them a month ago to talk to the secretary of the doctor Hole, one lady trying to transfer my call, nobody pick up , she did this for 3 or 4 times and at the end said she will send an emergency email . Has been a month and nobody contact me ! Gp they keep telling that he needs surgery and they can’t do anything and his tonsillitis is huge ! For example last night fever 40 degrees !

The staff here are brilliant and a real credit to the hospital. The ONLY 2 faults i can ever seem to see are: - They're in desperate need of some upgrading in the main building - The parking is DREADFUL add at least 20 mins on to your journey time.

I had to take my daughter here for an outpatient in starfish. It's so clean and modern offering self check-in terminals for easy booking in. Plenty of toilets and facilities for breast feeding etc. Wide screens displaying appointment time and what room to go to. Nice pleasant cafe offering refreshments whilst you wait.

I felt I had to give this place a review. The staff are a credit compared to other hospitals around the UK e.g. London. The ward is very clean as well which gives you comfort when you are taking babies in there.

Good luck trying to get a correct department's direct telephone number if you've lost it, as even the website is wrong. Now for the 15th attempt at getting through..... 😡😡😡

Amazing hospital, amazing staff from the drs and nurses right to the physiotherapists and even the play specialists from the children ward on what was then called Paeds south not sure what its called now, I have been in and out of the hospital since i was 6 months old in September 1997 These drs and nurses are my life saviours after contracting meningitis and Tb as a baby i was really Ill to the point the hospital didn't think i was going to make it, honestly if it wasn't for my consultant doctor who persistantly pushed and Pushed for every test possible i may have never survived that week let alone the next 23 nearly 24 years the consultant doctor found out after numerous tests and scans i had fluid on my brain and a condition called hydrocephalus within minutes of receiving the results i was preped and whisked away to the operating theatre where they worked for hours and hours fighting to save my life, placed a VP shunt in the back/Bottom of my brain which Drains off any CSF that surrounds my brain. I do have a few side effects from the Meningitis and Hydrocephalus now still 23 years later (Off balance, Slight Weakness in right side of body and deafness in the right Ear) but i am a Hydro warrior and a meningitis survivor and i honestly owe my life to these doctors because (touch wood/wishful luck) although despite the few side Effects from above i am a Happy and Healthy adult and Have been surgery free for the past 9/10 years from my last shunt placement in 2010 and the first replacement since it was placed in September 1997 so all in all lasted 13 years which amazed the nurses and surgeons as the expectancy of a shunt tube is only supposed to last 10 years. So i say it again To the nurses, doctors and Especially my childhood consultant doctor francese Gibbon of Noahs ark children hospital i owe my life to you all, THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH 💖. Xx
