Amazing
hospital,
amazing
staff
from
the
drs
and
nurses
right
to
the
physiotherapists
and
even
the
play
specialists
from
the
children
ward
on
what
was
then
called
Paeds
south
not
sure
what
its
called
now,
I
have
been
in
and
out
of
the
hospital
since
i
was
6
months
old
in
September
1997
These
drs
and
nurses
are
my
life
saviours
after
contracting
meningitis
and
Tb
as
a
baby
i
was
really
Ill
to
the
point
the
hospital
didn't
think
i
was
going
to
make
it,
honestly
if
it
wasn't
for
my
consultant
doctor
who
persistantly
pushed
and
Pushed
for
every
test
possible
i
may
have
never
survived
that
week
let
alone
the
next
23
nearly
24
years
the
consultant
doctor
found
out
after
numerous
tests
and
scans
i
had
fluid
on
my
brain
and
a
condition
called
hydrocephalus
within
minutes
of
receiving
the
results
i
was
preped
and
whisked
away
to
the
operating
theatre
where
they
worked
for
hours
and
hours
fighting
to
save
my
life,
placed
a
VP
shunt
in
the
back/Bottom
of
my
brain
which
Drains
off
any
CSF
that
surrounds
my
brain.
I
do
have
a
few
side
effects
from
the
Meningitis
and
Hydrocephalus
now
still
23
years
later
(Off
balance,
Slight
Weakness
in
right
side
of
body
and
deafness
in
the
right
Ear)
but
i
am
a
Hydro
warrior
and
a
meningitis
survivor
and
i
honestly
owe
my
life
to
these
doctors
because
(touch
wood/wishful
luck)
although
despite
the
few
side
Effects
from
above
i
am
a
Happy
and
Healthy
adult
and
Have
been
surgery
free
for
the
past
9/10
years
from
my
last
shunt
placement
in
2010
and
the
first
replacement
since
it
was
placed
in
September
1997
so
all
in
all
lasted
13
years
which
amazed
the
nurses
and
surgeons
as
the
expectancy
of
a
shunt
tube
is
only
supposed
to
last
10
years.
So
i
say
it
again
To
the
nurses,
doctors
and
Especially
my
childhood
consultant
doctor
francese
Gibbon
of
Noahs
ark
children
hospital
i
owe
my
life
to
you
all,
THANK
YOU
ALL
SO
VERY
MUCH
💖.
