The best in the country for a reason. Has a restaurant, bar, club, shop, cafe(s), lots of university advice. All staff are very helpful.

Easily one of the best places ive ever been in my life, some people are taken aback by views of example Niagara falls or the Taj Mahal, etc. I for one experienced a much deeper, emotional connection when i first walking through those marvelous automatic doors which gave me an insight into the astounding world that was Sheffield Students Union. The wide variety of food catering to many cultures and backgrounds is amazing, like taking a flight each time you visit a new shop. The main SU Shop hosts a selection of goods at reasonable prices which are useful when you forget your wallet and only had 50p in your bag. I would continue describing this 8th wonder of the world but then you would have no reason to visit.

Having spent five years previously at another university that had a union that consisted of a small shop, a cafe and a “club”, this union building far exceeded my expectations. Decent size, has a good bar, multiple places to get very reasonably priced food, a lot of places to sit and work, computers to use, as well as a uni merch shop and a shop where you can buy general food, coffee, toiletries and more. Really like this place and think it’s a great place for the students to visit.

Good food at a variety of outlets in the union and two excellent bars catering to different styles. The union has been stylishly remodeled over the last few years, and the funding put into the union clearly shows. For the most part staff are attentive, though there is a distinct lack of communication between departments in the union, which can make getting stuff done rather difficult.

Perfect spot to study, meet your friends for coffee or grape other a quick or more extensive lunch. Student Union offers numerous seating areas, multiple restaurants/cafes that offer something for everyone’s taste. The building is solely operated by students who are always up to helping you out

The best students union around. At most of my friends Uni's a night out in the union is a pretty grim proposition - in Sheffield the union nights out can be the best you'll experience! It's also has a bunch of great places to eat during the day.

Good place to ask questions, student related. However, Too Many students, can't fit through doors to reach wherever you wish to go in the building. Gotta wait for your turn to pass through door frames due to overpopulation in the corridors. There is....traffic inside. (Advise not to walk around with a hot coffee)

Best student support service ever, I was impressed by the level of support provided to students, very comprehensive, they think of everything to make your study a unique and enjoyable experience. They are swift, online and on-campus, and always available. I remember several times where I dropped suggestions using the feedback mechanisms and thought nobody will even read them; however, each time my suggestions were taken into consideration and became a reality. I am impressed, very impressed.

I highly recommend the Student Union of Sheffield University for anyone in need of a great space to study, eat, or socialize. Best student Union comparing to other universities.

The best place to come if you are looking to volunteering whilst at uni. The staff are really helpful and there are always loads of options. Found an amazing charity in Sheffield through the SV Hub and found it super easy to get involved.

Best students union in the country. A great bar that serves food and drink during the day and then a nightclub for the club nights which are renowned throughout the UK

Lots of good memories over the past few years. The only downside is that it could be a bit bigger! All in all a good student hangout :-)
