    Came to the branch to report the change of address - was told that I cannot do this in the branch and as I had to print off and bring a signed 'change of address' form. Asked whether I could get his done in the branch - response - no. And here is a screenshot of HSBC's website confirming that I was lied to. So, not only HSBC's approach to such simple things as a change of address appears archaic but they also have employees who give negligent advice.

    Furious with this bank. Elderly relative, lifelong customer, wanted to transfer money electronically into savings account. No counter service in branch. Told to either do it online or to do this in branch incurs a fee of £17. Just to make an electronic payment (not CHAPS or international - a UK bank not HSBC). Staff were abrupt and impatient with her, no consideration for her age and limited understanding of online banking. Came home in tears and is still upset about this days later. I tried to phone them to discuss this and complain.. no branch number, only automated system, unable to proceed as a non-customer. I will help my relative to change her account to a different bank. Absolutely abysmal bank.

    So slow to serve, no apology for the wait time. It seems utterly chaotic with people waiting in multiple areas and customers having to check with eachother who's waiting for what. It's even hard to spot staff because they wear trainers and t shirts now

    One of the reception with a scarf on head was so rude and she didn’t have any patience for listening. Miss information telling but didn’t realize her fault and just pretended or acted she was confused and she didn’t know what happened. Such an awful experience.

    They shut the branch near me so went to this one, took 1 hour off work to open an account. Because it was 20 minutes before they shut wouldn't open an account for me asked me to come back tomorrow earlier even though I cant get there earlier due to work. They didn't want to help me out and clearly take customers for granted.

    I remember going into this branch on fargate & wanting to open a basic savers account and being flat out refused and rudely dealt with by one of the employees assigned to deal with me. I was a young lad at the time and had just started a new job and needed a basic bank account so my employers could deposit money, but was met with hostility and suspicion. My advice is to avoid this branch and possibly go to another branch or even a different banker.

    It does take an awful long time to get anything done. HSBC used to have a branch in Broomhill - always busy - closed down due to "lack of activity". This branch has only 2 counters. Double this and you would cut the waiting time (which can be an hour) by half.

    Througth the pandemic HSBC have been unhelpful. Their opening times have been completely impractical for anyone running their own business and dealing with cash deposits. All banks have been the same totally unacceptable when they want other essential services to be open normal hours. Poor.

    A task that could be handled in 5 minutes in another bank takes at least an hour here. Hard to understand , you should go downstairs and upstairs and downstairs again and finally someone comes and takes you upstairs to handle the task.Once you get to he served the staff is quite helpful though. I guess there is a problem with the system.

    Bank here if you want staff to refuse to answer a simple question and if they do answer, just know they will tell you to do EVERYTHING on the app or telephone banking. HSBC why not allow your staff to sort things out for customers in person?

    Awful awful service. You wait ages in a ramshackle queue whilst members of staff walk around ignoring you, and then when you do finally get to speak to someone they say you need to perform the action on telephone banking!!! Additionally you cannot make an appointment (I was told) and the information they provided was incorrect anyway. Finally, as you walk into the building there is a 'performance' chart on the wall informing customers how well HSBC are doing, but the chart shows they are consistently useless. HSBC is the worst performing, in terms of service and functionality, of any UK bank, digital or on the High Street. They prioritise profit over people, as evidenced by the numbers. Terrible terrible bank and Fargate is a prime example of how useless they are at customer service. It is always rammed and never do you get satisfactory service.

    There is no coin deposit machine as advertised on Web site. However the lady on the counter served me well and corrected a mistake. She was very good. Was asked yet again if I wanted the app, please stop asking.

    Absolutely abysmal. Loads of staff wandering around doing nothing but staring at laptops, one manager constantly smiling creepily at you in the queue but yet only two people on the counters which inevitably leads to long waits. All I wanted was to deposit money but couldn’t do this at the machine where i was told too. If this is HSBC’s idea of banking of the future then I’d hate to see their ideas for staffing. Shocking

    Been having issues signing up to online banking, went in twice and staff managed to sort no problems, turns out they had put my phone number down wrong and were able to change it right away instead of waiting 7 days as normal

    I've never had bad service at this branch, always been helpful. Depositing money, no issues With drawing money, no issues Internet banking issues, resolved Staff always been friendly and professional.. Alot easier face to face, than over the phone or internet

    We have just been into the HSBC Fargate branch to get help for my partner Mrs Entwistle, who has just changed to the HSPC bank, but needed assistance with dealing with opening up Online Banking etc. We were assisted by their member of staff Rebecca, who was so helpful. She was patient, understanding and knowledgable, and was fabulous at putting my partners mind at rest with the formalities. Thank you again Rebecca.

    A big downgrade on the old Fargate branch. Totally wasted my time when I visited on Saturday to pay some coins in. They've removed the automated paying machine so you can only pay in over the counter but despite HSBC making billions in profits they won't pay for someone to man the counter on a weekend. The counter is only open Monday to Friday.so anyone who actually works for a living will have a problem during those times. Absolutely pathetic service

    A lovely shiny new branch. Lots of staff on the shop floor but only 2 counter desks meant I had a long wait in the queue. One member of staff even had sufficient spare time to tell the queue of people we were not queuing properly. Please note there is no coin counting machine at this branch despite it advertised online so I spent 40 minutes in branch just to despit £14 in coins. Staff were pleasant but wasn't very interested in reducing the queues.
