Very sparse these days and prices have rocketed. Cafe was a great addition but it is long gone, half of the outdoor area with the plants and pond bits is cordoned off. We have been travelling an hour each way to Porton for years for our pets / aquatics equipment, was great seeing the place crammed to the roof with the best value stock and full of customers. Always saw the same faces working in there but I hardly recognised it on this visit. Prices now on a par with pets at home etc and so many things i used to regularly buy unavailable, so I don't think we will be visiting again.

Seems to have everything you would ever need including very helpful staff. The fish and reptile areas are worthy of a zoo - they could charge admission! Went there for a few pounds items and ended up buying more goldfish and a 4 ft long underwater wreck for our pound

Always nice to visit. Ordered via their website quite late in the evening, had a confirmation the next morning to say my order was complete and ready for pick up! Lady at the collection point was lovely. Would order again.

Be aware of accepting deliveries that are damaged. I thought I was doing the right thing taking delivery where there was damage to only one piece of paving. Therefore just requiring one piece to be exchanged. However I didn’t have a leg to stand on as I accepted the delivery. Read the small print, don’t get caught out like I did ! Inspection of the goods is required and any damage needs to be reported to the driver at the time of delivery. We cannot accept claims for damages once you have inspected and taken delivery of your goods. It is therefore essential that you are satisfied that your goods are in good condition at the time you take delivery. If the goods are damaged you should contact us immediately and we will be able to advise you how to proceed."

Great advice . Water tested for tank. Large selection of fish . Loved vegetable snakes and tarantula my grand daughter was thrilled to show me she had found nemo

Excellent for Aquatics and for pets - whether mamal, avian or reptile - but limited selection of plants for my idea of a garden centre as I tend to go for the plants (often more indoor plants than outdoor plants). I have found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgeable about their animals and Aquatics.

Went in search of info about reptiles, and were not disappointed. The chap there was extremely knowledgeable and told us all we would need to know to get a tortoise. Lovely, clean and tidy place 👍

Ordered cannister filter yesterday around 2pm delivery before 2om next day. Packaged securely not unpacked yet but great service and great price

Lots of choice, multiple species catered for. Livestock well looked after. Very competitive pricing. Lots of parking.

Fantastic service and advice. I can't praise the staff at Porton enough. I went there to look at aquarium lighting units with lots of questions about the various types. Excellent service as usual! We love Porton Garden Centre and actually travel nearly 40 minutes to get the best service 🥰 We have brought several animals from here and always had professional advice! The time the staff take to make you feel welcome is second to none and they always make an effort when possible (not too busy) to really dedicate time to each and every customer. Special shout out to the reptile staff, you’re all amazing 🤩 From Sarah, Simon, Al and Max the geckos, and Blue the beaded dragon ❤️

Amazing shop but I must say that they sell quite a few unsafe/unsuitable stuff in the rodent section. The cages, softwood products, food mixes and some of the bedding isn't good at all for rodents. Please take that into consideration and do research before you buy products from them. Really good selection of safe products though!

Went to see the reptiles. Very helpful staff. Opened cages so I could see the tiny geckos. Also looked at the fish stock. Little bit of everything. Marine. Tropical. Cold water

We visited the center in the week to purchase some new weed for our tropical tank. The guy we spoke to was so informative and asked all the right questions. We wanted to say a big thank you as he really is a credit to the team.

I was needing to buy a companion for my rabbit who recently lost his partner. I initially telephoned to check if they had any rabbits, and the person I spoke to was courteous, and helpful. Following my enquiry, I visited in person, and when making further enquiries they immediately recognised me as the person who had telephoned previously. All staff I dealt with were caring, knowledgeable, and friendly. I can definitely recommend their services, and livestock. I would happily use them again.

Great place, that's why I've been going there for 8 years! Staff are very knowledgeable, huge range of stock for most pets and some of the pets as well. Very highly recommended.

Extremely good service from this company. I ordered a Laguna tub from them a couple of months ago and finally got round to setting it up. I noticed that the plugs for the pre drilled hole were missing reducing its capacity. I sent them an email on Friday evening, by lunchtime Saturday I received an email back telling me a plug had been sent, along with DPD tracking for delivery. I was expecting to wait until at least mid-week but It arrived on Sunday! Extremely quick service especially given I’d already had the product 2 months. Laguna tub itself is a fantastic product and there is little else like it available in the UK. Perfect for smaller turtle species, overwintering larger species or Goldfish/Koi grow on tubs.

We hadn't visited the aquatic centre for a few years and were blown away by the incredible range they have. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. If you're looking for aquatic supplies this is definitely the place for inside and outside supplies....and other pet supplies too! And that's before even venturing into the garden section. Very impressed. Worth the drive.

Large stock. We went for fish.... First visit our tank water hadn't cycled enough so not permitted (they want to ensure fish aren't going into a toxic environment)to buy fish... Next visit (after following advice at the centre) our water was good and we were able to take fish home. Happy people, and happy fish.

Bought some cobblestones and slate pieces from here which was fine. Charged for 2 pallets carriage which I didn't question as didn't know how they were going to be packed. However, I did question it when it turned up and barely made half a pallet and didn't even reach the number plate of the nearest car (see photo). Essentially their attitude was 'well, you've paid for it and when you paid you signed the terms and conditions so you can go and.....'. Check carriage costs very carefully.

These guys are just the single best online aquatics retailer I have ever used. Their pricing is unbeatable. I bought a Ciano Nexus 25 from them for less money than Pets at Home were asking for the smaller Nexus 15. I just got a Ciano Tartarium 40 for use as a shallow planted shrimp pool and it was under £25. Delivery is fantastic, low cost, fast and with constant updates and very well protected packaging. Fantastic range and selection. It's worth noting they expand far beyond aquatics and have stock for lots of other types of animals too. Couldn't recommend any higher 👏👏👏👏

Don't usually do reviews but bought the biggest betta vivarium (huge) they had but unfortunately arrived broken twice (not their fault). Ended up picking it up however wanted to feedback on their excellent customer service, especially the Web team (fantastic!) No quibbles, arguments, just how can they get it sorted as well as staff in store. If it was a bit closer be my place of choice.

All things fishy. I go here to get all I need for my fish/wild life pond. From plants to pumps. Also a pet store, not just furry pets. Garden plants and lots of everything for the garden. Today we needed advice about pond filters and met a lovely chap called Jeff/Geoff. Font of all knowledge when needing advice about pond equipment. Worth the drive to find this place. Best of all are the prices, they certainly won't break the bank. P.S. say Hi to the Parrot. X

Lovely shopping experience here today. The gentleman who helped me was excellent and so knowledgeable. He was very helpful and friendly perfect service. They have a good selection of house plants and some great plant pots, fish and tanks and lots of stuff for different pets. Their plants for the garden is very limited compared to what they used to have. A big selection of sweets as well.

Lovely shop, worth the hour long journey to get our gerbils and all their accessorises. Shop assistant called Gemma could not have been more helpful, she even came to the car to check I had set the cage up properly. I would 100% recommend this shop.

It's a good place found everything we wanted at decent prices fish looked well looked after But did notice as u walk in heading straight towards the indoor aquarium there is a strong smell of dog wee. It's awful and I notice that even though someone has previously said this on a review and they can't be bothered to do anything about it Also it was a warm day not too hot..and various birds in the aviary were panting as too hot and no air flow bar the open entrance ... I dread to think what they will be like in the really hot weather.. need more side or rear air flow guys I will be back in 2months to check pics n vids etc and if any animals in distress it will be documented and reported so do something about it !!!!!!

Had a lovely afternoon looking at all the varieties of fish, reptiles, birds and cute fluffy animals they house here. They also have many amazing things for the garden. We then finished it of with an amazing icecream, I indulged in a mint choc chip and salted caramel cone yum!

I used to love going to this place,but I didn't feel it was as good as it used to be. They previously had a lovely little shop outside with sweets and gifts and a cafe inside. They had both gone. Plenty of choice for pet food, and accessories, fish etc. Just not as good as I remembered it.

Porton Garden and Aquatics Centre is not often busy and a good family trip. Its a pity that they removed there cafe with lunch time in replace for an outside to sit and eat ice cream 🍦. -Information- Dog friendly Toilets Pet food Gardening supplies inside + Outside -Price Range- £ - £££

Had what we needed at reasonable prices. Friendly polite staff. You can recycle pet food pouches here which is great. Good range of pet supplies from reptiles to fish to cats and dogs. Nice now they have reopened fully so kids can see the animals but a shame the cafe has gone.
