The highest commission on buying, selling at auctions in Belfast. You have to buy what you don't want as last minute items are linked to several numbers by the employee who shows the goods sometimes even the auctioneer is surprised by what is going on but does as the showman says. The valuation of the goods put up at auctions is underestimated and is made by the employees collecting the goods, the office employees say that they are appraisers, I do not recommend taking something really valuable for the valuation. The goods can be purchased without an auction, just agree with the employees. I do not recommend this auction.

Don't be taken in by this clever man, Angus Clark. He will seem unimpressed by unusual and rare objects (such as my 'unsold' pendant...((*See enclosed photo of it, it is out there somewhere if anyone were nto recognise it*))and as such, undervalue them...GROSSLY. My 'unsold' 'mislaid' vintage Chinese jade/22ct gold donut pendant was valued in 1987 at over £1000 so I was surprised by and disappointed by it's amazing 'depriciation' in value to the reserve price of £100 put on it by Angus Clark, particularly at a time when vintage Chinese jewellery is in such high demand. *Read Iw Iwka's review.* It in my opinion, her review pretty much sums up what I believe, eventually did happen to my 'unsold' pendant. I completely agree with all the negative comments on this review page and with reference to the above, I would strongly advise anyone NOT use this auction house. As mentioned earlier, unsold items can and do get 'mislaid' or *'lost/stolen'* (** These were Angus Clark's own words to me, after many months of enquiry as he told me, that the matter of my pendant was now closed). So, unless you retrieve unsold goods a.s.a.p after auction, they can and do 'walk'. Avoid this auction house. Angus Clark is the worst!

I have frequently used the online auction to buy items of jewellery and have been very satisfied with the outcome when a bid has been successful. The prospective total cost with a breakdown of different elements is clear when using the maximum bid option which I find works very well. The dispatch and delivery usually arrives within two working days which is great.

Buying from Ross's is an easy and efficient process. The website works well; in general the payment process is pretty straightforward and deliveries are very quick. Having bought paintings from them over the past two years, I have only once had a problem with damage and the cost to replace the broken glass on the painting was quickly credited to me. Selling is another day's work! Angus seems to think he needs to talk down anything being offered for sale. It comes across as that he thinks he knows the price of everything but hasn't a clue about the value of anything even to himself. Like many owner managers, the further he is kept away from customers, probably the better it is for the company.

First purchases from Ross auction and I’m very happy. Bought 3 items at a great price and they are in very good condition as described . Ross auction where very nice and accommodating on email and offered to hold my items for two weeks for me to pick up which I greatly appreciated. Will definitely be purchasing again. I have bought mainly paintings online from Ross's over the past few years and have never had any issues. The items were as depicted and condition as stated. I have always found the staff courteous and very efficient. Any supplementary condition reports, or request for additional photos, was dealt with promptly. The painting were shipped within a reasonably time frame, very securely packed and delivered by courier. I have no hesitation in recommending this auction house and have found dealing with them easy and rewarding.

This was my first time dealing with Ross’s. I found the online interface intuitive and user friendly and the registration process was not cumbersome as is the case on some similar sites. I was hugely impressed to discover that my items were dispatched the very next day and arrived promptly. They were very carefully packaged and exactly as described. The Ross's online auction site is very user friendly, well presented, and straight forward for registered users to bid on items. I have been happy with the service I received from start to finish and have received many item large and small from Ross's . I just had an issue with my last delivery as sometimes happens it did not arrive at my address on the day it should have , but when I phoned Ross's it was dealt with and I received my item a few days later . Staff where helpful and I will continue to buy from Ross's auctions.

Starting to understand the one star reviews. Online auction closing time is not the actual closing time - if you’re in a bidding war, it will keep extending by 30 seconds instead of going to the highest bidder at the closing time as in the case of eBay. What is the point advertising that the auction will close at a given time?

I have been dealing with Ross Auctioneers and Valuers for approximately eight years now and it has been a most satisfying and positive experience in all respects. Staff are most helpful and responsive to any queries one might have and I have recommended the online auctions to many friends with an interest in art and jewellery. Couldn't praise it highly enough!

Valuation of the goods is an absolute joke... You drop your stuff at the auctioneer and verbally they agree 20% commission then you receive a green slip..like a receipt that you get in a shop...BE CAREFUL.. on the top of the 20% they take another 14% saying that the terms and conditions are at the bottom of that slip in the fine print...Noone tells you that there will be 34%, will be taken from the total selling price which is not just ridiculously high but that 14% is a chancer so obviously they will not inform you..No confirmation or information about it whatsoever ..if you don`t see it then thats you paid an extra 14%.. I emailed in regards of this issue...The answer was simple..Its there in the fine print on the receipt if you haven`t checked it then noone really cares. I have not received an response for my second email. I think their customer service as bad as their rip off service... 34% at least could have the decency to inform people properly about the extra 14% rip off or at least send them proper terms and conditions. Absolute Joke... There are so many other great auctioneer in Northern Ireland.. Don`t get yourself into this mess

I am always impressed by Ross’s auctions; The user friendly website, the reliability of the lot descriptions, and the speed and quality of their dispatch arrangements. On the most recent occasion when I made a purchase they phoned me to say there was a mistake in their description of one item, and to ask whether I wanted To withdraw my bid. Good service.

1st ever visit to get someone to look at stamps my deceased father had left me. Very unimpressed with the unprofessionalism. No formal introduction. Unfriendly. Insulted my fathers memory by stating 'its a schoolboy collection' which, i know, it is not. Insensitive. Won't ever be back and i won't be buying anything from them either. Obviously only interested in their own pockets.

I have found my dealings with the staff to have been helpful, courteous and flexible. For the first time, I will be putting items into auction this year and am hopeful that the service will be just as good.

I have bought & sold a few pieces here over the past year, mostly paintings. Staff couldn't be more helpful. I have read a few negative comments on here & cannot say they are justified. With regards to the comments surrounding costs, every auction charges fees. Based on the location alone of this auction house, one would imagine fees would be slightly higher due to the overheads. My experience purchasing items has also been great, with staff going over and above their call of duty to accommodate during covid. Would highly recommend to anyone considering going here.
