Fantastic cafe/restaurant with delicious scones! Great place to stop for a relaxed coffee and a chat. Good selection of healthy plants which appeared to be well cared for.

I recommend you to visit The Mains of Drum if you want to spend a pleasant time and also if you'd like to have something to eat. Clean, quiet and relaxing place to visit. The staff is knowledgeable, kind and helpful! It's near Crathes Castle, just 10 minutes of driving. Beautiful place and beautiful people ❤️, we love it.

Absolutely lovely location, set in beautiful countryside of Royal Deeside. Perfect place for cup of tea and cake. Lovely lunch choices, however ordering and ques was little confusing - you have to pick table number first then que to order, when busy and solo with kids it’s hard. Only concern is of the ladies when ordering isn’t very pleasant, could do with some more customer service training. Otherwise lovely friendly staff all around. Great choice of goodies in the shop, handy to have milk for the local customer also!! 8/10

Really like this place, staff are always ready to help, the Café is delightful, so is the food. The garden staff are so knowledgeable, with good advice. I always enjoy popping in on the off chance.

Had expected hot food to be placed on dishes from hot plates. But no, hot food was brought to tables directly from the kitchen. This meant that it was piping hot. We had Roast Beef, it was excellent and tender. Good quantity of vegetables and a generous portion of roast potatoes. It was reasonably priced. We will certainly be returning. .

I love this place in many ways, but the only complaint would have to be about cafe/restaurant. We were there Last Sunday to see the Christmas displays and Christmas shopping, but the cafe was very busy with long queues, and it was taking the staff such a long time to prepare coffees for everyone wanting coffee. Everyone seemed to want coffee! I gave up wanting coffee. We ordered fish and chips which seemed to be saturated in oil. The little sachets of sauce were foul tasting. No bottles of sauce were there. When i moved my plate, there was a puddle of oil on the table. I was lucky not to have got it on my sleeves. Apart from that the shop sells the most beautiful Christmas decorations.

Well. This place is quite far from Aberdeen the question is,is it worth a visit, answer YES.We arrived on a partularly frosty day.The pond outside was glistening and there were small isicles on the trees, the grass was crisp under your feet as we got the bus,so walked through the grounds to get to the entrance where we were greeted by the most beautiful Christmas tree.We had lunch in the spacious and well laid out restaurant. The food options are good,a little expensive, but all the ingredients are locally sourced so it's worth paying for.Place is definitely worth a visit

Very nice home + garden centre with a large array of goods for purchase ranging from craghopper clothing to garden 4 piece suites. Restaraunt is very nice but a bit expensive for certain items i.e. Cheeseburger was priced at £13.95. Area is very well maintained and would make for a great stop when travelling or for a day out.

A garden centre with some of the prettiest and healthiest houseplants I've seen. The chocolates and lifestyle sections are also really enjoyable to browse. I got the cutest salad tosser that are shaped like whales from here. Really happy with the place. Don't forget to join their loyalty program to get some free tea/coffee for your visits!

Good food in pleasant surroundings. Unfortunately, the service procedure regarding meals is very poor. Quese form to serve hot drinks, which ultimately impact customers with hot meals. Easily rectified, in my opinion.

We popped in 15 minutes before the cafe / restaurant closed for a coffee, still quite busy. Staff were friendly and service was good. Nice shop as well for a wander after coffee. 2 x lattes & 2 x tray bakes £12, maybe slightly on dearer side but still good.

A standard modern garden centre. With a nice cafe. The scones were delicious.

Went for lunch the other day with five friends. Three of us chose Cullen Skink. It was dreadful. It was green, thick and "gluey" with big chunks of hard potato through it. I feel sick thinking about it. The three of us agreed that it was not good and we were unable to eat it. We did draw the matter to the attention of management and were told that the soup had stuck to the bottom of the pot. That may or not have been the case but it didn't have a burnt taste. Just tasted weird. It should not have been served. Manageress did her best to compensate but I don't feel we would have been compensated adequately if the matter had not been pressed. Hopefully this was a one-off bad day for the chef.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Restaurant was half full but the service was very Good. Our food was at our table within five minutes of ordering it.

First rate garden center with just about as much variety and quality than one could wish for. Some truly remarkable bronze statues of deer which unfortunately we would not have been able to fit in the Mercedes but we will return.

What a shame, have not been to Mains of Drum for some time. Went this morning for my Birthday breakfast and was disappointed. The sausage was definately pre-cooked and either sitting under a heat lamp or microwaved (this was at 10am) making it tough to eat and only tepid. Would have been more palatable freshly cooked and hot.

Have visited several times and have afternoon tea as a treat and it's always been outstanding. Unfortunately this visit was very disappointing, the service was as usual excellent the staff are all friendly and attentive. It was the actual afternoon tea that was very poor, sandwiches had hardly any filling, scones are tiny now and were plain not fruit as expected, had to ration out the small amount of jam and strawberries,as for the other cakes one was tasteless and the other was sliced so thin it was a slither of cake rather than a slice ,we couldn't actually pick it up Will still visit shop as its excellent but will have afternoon tea elsewhere obviously cutting back on everything but same price ,so disappointed.

Today we have thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon tea, the staff were so helpful and polite. I chose the vegan option of caponata sandwiches and they were delicious the two regular eaters chose the tuna and the prawn and both said how delicious a we all agreed there was plenty of filling. We then enjoyed some wonderful scones with cream, jam & fresh Strawberries followed by fabulous cakes all washed down with coffee and tea. We will definitely book this again, highly recommend it. 😋

I had looked for a restaurant for a nice lunch out for my family and very pleased I chose here. I booked a table in advance and it was great to see our table ready for our arrival. All staff throughout our visit were absolutely amazing and provided excellent customer service. They were all polite, immaculately presented and were a credit to the restaurant. Point to note is it’s not table service. You order at the till then food is taken out to you. There are menus at the table so to save each of us having to go up I asked for some paper and a pen so I could order for everyone at once so wasn’t a issue. We ordered a range of drinks and food and everything was very tasty, good quality and taken to our table very quickly. We had a great table next to the open patio doors so lovely breeze and views as we ate. I have to give the front of house and kitchen staff credit for providing us with a lovely lunch out and can’t wait to return.

Lovely afternoon tea, can't fault the quality of the food or the service from staff. A child's version was offered for our young guest and his eyes lit up when his very own cake stand arrived. Plenty vegetarian options too.

Nice and clean restaurant, friendly staff. Unfortunately however the lunches were not up to scratch. My wife had soup, (sweet potato and carrot). Just like coloured water and hardly any taste, bread that came with it was quite dense and heavy. I had haddock and chips. The fish was OK but the chips looked just like a plate of Tesco oven chips, peas were stone cold. I would go back for coffee but that's about it. I'd be very wary about cooked lunches. A nice clean place with friendly staff but shame about the food.

Great shop and a lovely cafe! Amazing food especially for lunches. It's usually quite busy so booking a day+ in advance is probably a good idea.

What a lovely garden centre. Dog friendly on the ground floor, which is always a bonus. The restaurant (upstairs) looked fabulous. I only bought 2 coffees & 2 slices of a fab chocolate drip cake (to go, I might add. Remember the dog) but I think the meals would be very nice. I also spoke to someone who'd had an afternoon tea (this has to be booked) & said it was truly lovely. If you're in the area it's worth a visit. Also, there's a really nice area outside, we pulled a couple of chairs out of the car & ate our cake on the lawn.
