I'd always wanted to try open water swimming but had been a bit anxious about it. I decided to take the plunge (pun fully intended) and do the open water course at the start of the month, and am now swimming regularly at Divers Cove. The course was very helpful (our teacher Rona was great) and it included a guided swim, which for my first experience of lake swimming really helped my confidence. Everyone is super friendly and the water couldn't be nicer, especially with the heat we've had this season. Looking forward to swimming for the rest of the summer and hoping I can stick it out when the weather cools down too!

Diver's Cove is more than just a beautiful swim, it holds a wonderful community of people with a shared love for being in wild water. Whether you are a beginner, seasoned race swimmer or someone who just wants a natter while swimming around the turquoise quarry, everyone is welcome! Take the plunge and visit, you won't regret it!

Love swimming at DC. The team are always friendly, there's coffee and snacks if you want to extend your visit and and chat. It's a great location and I highly recommend it as a place to have a swim. The entry into the lake is a bit steep and I'm always a bit nervous about slipping but once in, it's wonderful.

Amazing!!! 😊 love it, a fresh water swim, well organised and lots of facilities, sauna, hot tubs and Wimhoff classes etc. There are always pop up events and stalls sometimes with pizza, sometimes locally handmade skincare, sometimes fresh pastries. An awesome hidden gem. Big thumbs up from me 👍🏼

Lake is gloomy, everyones stuck up, you're not free to do as you please you must swim in a set route, not allowed to have fun. Don't waste your time, go to the beach.

I really don’t want to say too much about Divers Cove, but this is because rather selfishly I want it kept a secret! So, I won't say that it is a well run venue , with a relaxed style of management that aims to allow access to open water swimming for everyone, be they the first-time splasher or a semi-pro triathlete. All the staff are friendly and will make time to chat, and you never feel alone. It's a superb place to make new friends and to push yourself in a non-competitive environment. But honestly, it's none of the above so read on and head to Brighton 😁😁😁😁 and you can trust me, I’m an open water swimmer. Just remember that when you wrote your review, you'll probably want to keep just how great DC and the team are a secret too!

Went yesterday with a friend for our first open water swim. Staff explained everything and once we got used to it we both loved it and will go back. It was a lovely setting and although no showers it was open water swimming basically in the woods so what would you expect. Staff friendly and helpful, tea and coffee available after together with some cakes and snacks. A lovely way to spend a Sunday morning. I hope next time the sun is shining so we can see the water looking it’s best.

Fabulous gem of a place for outdoor quarry lake swimming, great setting, more for seasoned swimmers. Membership is required for swimming. The lake appears very clear and clean, onsite facilities available, lots of safety measures in place. Friendly staff.

I love Divers Cove. Highly recommended swimming here especially fantastic for a lap or two after work or a weekend morning in this hot weather. Just beautiful and peaceful. Staff are friendly and helpful and very welcoming for newcomers. The cove has so much potential. My wish would be more social areas perhaps overlooking the lake and more events/activities throughout the year and also the winter too. Would love to see it progress and perhaps allow quiet watersports. I am sure these have all been considered and reasons why they aren't yet here. Also maybe a paddle zone off the beach for less able swimmers or kids as it really is geared up for good swimmers only at the moment. Really promoting wild swimming in an inclusive way.

The water's gorgeous here. Beautiful and clear and so tranquil. The Team at DC are always helpful, friendly and professional. They also sometimes have the most amazing cakes (but watch their social media for when it's available)

We went on one of the hottest days of the year, 32C, humid and the sun was beating it down. Pros: the customer service is great, employees are engaged, friendly and nice to interact with. The setting is beautiful and looks just like in pictures. The water is clear and fantastic to wade through to cool off. The cons: our biggest complaint is that there is no area to just chill by and in the water - the whole thing is essentially an exercise ring where you swim in a 450m or 750m circle a couple times. We wanted access to the water at our leisure to dip in and out. You only get an hour - on a day like ours, you want to spend most of the time there so we don’t have to confront the heat for the whole day. My advice would be clear some space and sell a day pass so people can enjoy the weather and the water! Overall it was a positive experience and we will consider coming back on a hot day next year!

Great little swimming hole. £10 pay as you swim and you have to bring/rent a swimming cap and tow float.

This is my fourth season swimming regularly at Divers Cove and I love it here - the large lake provides a beautiful natural environment for safe open water swimming. The staff here are always friendly and helpful. This season, there's been a great addition of freshly-made pizza on Fridays nights and other baked snacks on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Highly recommended!

Picturesque, tranquil and with waters so clear you’ll find it hard to believe you’re in a location as tropical as godstone The location can be a bit tricky for some to find but the perseverance is worth the effort Sauna and swim sessions will transform your life and well-being

This is such a gorgeous 'hidden' spot and apparently the water is lovely, I haven't been in personally but is a lovely place to sit and take in your surroundings.

Beautiful wild swimming spot with really friendly staff. We paid for the sauna which wasn't quite hot enough as we were the first time slot of the day but it was still nice to warm up a little after a swim, and the staff let us stay in a little longer to make up for it. Can't wait for the hot tubs to be ready, qell definitely be back!

Open water paradise! Just wish it was open at lunchtimes in the week. Jack and the team are always super friendly and helpful and the general swimmimg community are lovely.

Great place for a swim in crystal clear waters and saunas in quaint wooden huts. Lovely and peaceful, plenty of fish too. After swimming and saunas my skin felt great

Very disappointing first (and probably last) visit to Divers Cove. Tricky to find due to a complete lack of signage. Very misleading website. Says they have a 'mixed shower block' but they actually have no showers at all. Says they have 'heating changing rooms with lockers' but instead they have unheated and very poorly maintained portakabins with no lockers. Says they do 'artisan pizza' at every session, but nothing like that when we were there. Everything was run down with a lot of facilities (toilets etc.) not working, which is not good when they're charging £10 a swim (where is all the money going?) Also, as often the case with venues like this in Greater London, it suffers from an excess of arrogant triathletes who treat the lake like it is their own private space and who can't differentiate between competing and training in an overcrowded public lake with mixed-ability swimmers. If you like being swam over by aggressive and intimidating triathletes, this is probably the place for you (and I'm an experienced, long-distance, open-water swimmer). It's such a shame (and a waste) as the setting is lovely and the water is clean, but the place is run down, poorly managed, and they don't provide the facilities they advertise.

LOVE THIS PLACE - I did the night swim last night and it was spectacular, such an amazing evening and the event is so well organised and the organisers do a fantastic job, what a great end to the weekend :-)
