This is a beautiful bay right on my doorstep. Have spent many a day there, swimming in the sea, having picnics & prosecco or walking along the break water to catch a gorgeous sunset. Everyone is very respectful and clears all rubbish after themselves. Such a community atmosphere too, especially on a lovely summers night with people hanging out around fire pits and having a good time!

Nice place just on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Stop for a walk along the beach or harbor wall which you can walk out. 1 mile in total there and back. Watch you footing. Take a coat if it's cold.

Came here for a swim, and had a great time! Parking can be tricky, but we managed to find a spot nearby. Beautiful little bay, and very well sheltered by the huge harbour wall to the west. Probably not a great spot if the wind is coming from the East.

Beautiful stunning views of the sea, you can smell the sea as you walk on the stony path towards the sea. Best to walk at thes side as the surface is flat to walk on. Also when walking back on to the sandy full of shells beach. You can see a notice that you may see seals and too not let your dogs of the lead. I didn't see any seals but you never know when you will see one. There is a bench to look at the sea. There were a lot of dog walkers who let there dogs of the lead and look on the ground as there is some dogs poo that hasn't been picked up by the owners. But regardless of this its a good place to have a gentle stroll not for people who have disabilities as the surface isn't flat.

The beach itself is good. Since lockdown a lot of people swim there. The water is clean enough and the beach is a lot cleaner than a couple years ago. We usually cycle there and there's space to lock the bikes. The only downside is if you have to drive there. You can only park on the opposite side of the narrow and busy road so not great when you have kids.

Bus no16 stops outside main entrance and great bus paths take you straight there, or walk along the shore (around ten minutes) and you Will come the most beautiful little bay Quite quiet most days and great for kids and dogs Super clean. Big long pier out to the ocean. Love it Sunbathing in peace! But I'd take juice!

It can get busy when the weather is nice, with lots of BBQs and smoke. In winter, a great place to find kindred spirits for wading through the seaweed for a wild swim.

Tranquil place to enjoy nature. The sea. The sun. And the breeze, indeed. Take a swim and enjoy your barbecue afterwards in any weather: rain or shine...

This is a tiny beach that is nothing special. BUT local people keep it clean and tidy and it has a very friendly relaxed vibe. It is the perfect place to go just to relax and think. It is surprisingly busy but never crowded. Overall is a nice place to hang out.

One of favourite places to go for a walk or fishing when Tide is High. I was sceptic when somebody told me you could catch something out there , but true is more colourful. If large group of mackerels' hit water along the pier , you could have 4-5 of them on one rod a time :) what are you waiting for then! Remember best time to Fish is between May until late August. You could try your luck for Plaice and haddock :) No mater if you fishing or just walking or having a pint along the pier its wort to go there again and again. Recently constructed new cycle path only encourage people to go for a bike spin along the coast as well.

Portobello is sometimes a little too busy and dirty. Wardie Bay is great all year round for swimming and views! If you visit, take your litter to the bins or home with you!

Beautiful city beach. Perfect spot for a quick swim. Lots of walker and dog walkers. Stunning skies.

The best wee beach if you live in Edinburgh North. Never as crowded as Portobello, cleaner, and when the tide is out is a great place for kids as they can’t really go far without you noticing!

It's a wee hidden gem of a place. Blink and you'll miss it if you're driving past. If you do go you'll find lots of paddle boarders and sea swimmers - seems to be the place to go for this in Edinburgh. Oh, and a great spot to view beautiful sunsets.

❀️❀️Love this place - as a kid and now as an adult with my own children. Walk, paddle, swim, nature watch - Harbour seals, birds. Views from the breakwater are beautiful, many a fishing spot there too.

Nice little area with bay, colourful little 'fishing village' type houses and small sand beach with grassy area at the top. Popular area for local sea-swimmers and beach BBQs

On a good day you can see forever, a delightfully unexpected cove safe for families and stand up surfers to enjoy the healthy energy of the abundant sea in the Firth of Forth πŸ’—

Clean and beautiful. Can either be really busy or empty! No16 bus stop all along shore road. Plenty places to go for a drink.. or bring a picnic and enjoy the beautiful beaches.
