I cannot speak highly enough of The Edinburgh Practice. My experience with them has been truly exceptional. From the moment I walked through their doors, I felt welcomed and understood - the initial questionnaire provided was particularly useful in allowing me to know that the clinic fully understood the scope of my issues and what help I was looking for. What sets this practice apart is the knowledge and expertise held across the staff there - While I initially saw someone for one issue I was having, I was able to also get ADHD expert help from a different specialist later down the line. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for any kind of professional help.

I have been going to the Edinburgh practice since I was 16, I am now 23 and I cannot express in words my gratitude to all the staff. I have encountered numerous members of the team and must say I am so grateful to each and every one of them. I initially began seeing Dr Wilson in regards to my depression and anxiety and later also began seeing Dr Nadeem for my ADHD. Prior to going to the Edinburgh practice I had tried over 10 other private psychologists to help but none of them resonated with me. Once I started with the Edinburgh practice I immediately felt welcomed and understood. Whether it be small things such as remembering how I take my coffee, to big things such as helping me through trauma and loss, the practice has exceeded my expectations. It is safe to say that the staff at The Edinburgh practice have genuinely saved my life. I cannot recommend a psychology/psychiatry group more than I would the Edinburgh practice. I am so grateful to all the staff for their help and their ever welcoming attitude!

The Edinburgh Practice charge four times more than a psychiatrist I found in London to diagnose my son with ADHD. They know they can rip off Scottish people because CAMHS won't see your child (notorious for rejecting GP referrals), forcing us to use private services, so EP get away with inflated prices for urgent psychiatry. I think this is immoral.

I was suffering from severe PTSD and anxiety when I first approached the Edinburgh Practice as I lived through 4 wars and couldn’t go back home. I started getting treatment for my trauma with Dr Fiona 5 years ago and my life was completely changed. She has helped me overcome many difficult things in my life, helped me overcome my trauma and go back home, supported me every time I needed. I honestly had the best experience with the Edinburgh Practice and I cannot recommend this place enough! Very understanding and very welcoming staff. A safe place that will heal you❤️

I spent a long time researching specialists in ADHD, I found the Edinburgh Practice and was supported by the admin staff with my application and other queries and questions who were always very helpful polite and very empathetic towards myself. I saw Dr Shankar for my assesment and have continued to work with him to get to my ADHD managed. Personally one of the best decisions I have made I could not recommend or thank Edinburgh practice and Dr Shankar anymore for the life changing support given to myself

Thank you to the entire team at the Edinburgh Practice for helping me through my adhd diagnosis. I have struggled with my mental health for my entire life and been in and out of the doctor frequently over the past several years, most of whom suggested that my symptoms were caused by anxiety. It was only with the help of the Edinburgh Practice that I was able to explore the issue properly and get a diagnosis for adhd. Since then my life has completely turned around and I am the happiest I have ever been. Thank you will never be enough to describe the gratitude I have for the Edinburgh Practice and their staff.

My family member has an appointment with them, we scheduled and waited over a month. Everything was fine and we paid the invoice already, but they emailed literally 24 hours beforehand and said oopsies they double booked so they had to cancel our appointment. They had over a month to figure this out, including the time they sent us an invoice and made us pay the expensive bill, only to reschedule us to god knows when. As a clinic focused on mental health & more, they seem to underestimate how their mistakes can be detrimental too.

Avoid at all costs! Literally go anywhere else! I lost my apportionment because the person working there “forgot to hit send” on the appointment email. That was back in April. And best, they did not apologize for the fact that this mistake would cost me more than £350! I finally got a July appointment. After that I’ve had to call and email the staff multiple times for the last month to get my prescription. I still haven’t received it. They never even call me back to give me updates. This is malpractice. They should not be allowed to operate.

Initially requested an appt at Edinburgh Practice and heard nothing for 3 weeks. Requested another appt and received a reply within 2 days offering an appt and we were informed that the email inbox is very busy so initial request must have been overlooked. Appt then cancelled 2 weeks before and rescheduled 3 weeks later. We received a request for payment 48 hours before the original appt date advising us that the appointment would be cancelled if not paid. After a few calls and emails, we were reassured that this was a mistake. The clinic and doctor were very professional and welcoming. The report after the appointment took some time before it was sent out and contained many simple spelling errors. Overall, we are pleased we did go private for this appointment. We would have expected a much better admin service and report free from grammar and spelling mistakes for the cost.

prompt assessment and diagnosis however then sent our (confidential) report to the wrong people (was meant to be sent to us) and then took 4 months and much chasing to send the full report to us. Very abrupt and little acceptance of their processes failing with such sensitive information.

Only if place you can self refer. Prompt appointment. Had to call up and remind the doctor to fax through the outcome of the appointment to my GP Waited a further two weeks until he finally sent the fax.

The psychologist I saw at The Edinburgh Practice was fantastic, I could not fault them at all. Unfortunately, I won’t be seeing them again because the way the practice is managed is unacceptable. The admin team are unprofessional, disorganised, and unresponsive. You have to be prepared to chase the admin team up frequently; for some, this is a fair exchange for the quality of the professionals at the practice. However, I am not prepared to deal with the admin team at this practice ever again. They need to address the problems with admin as it is a great disservice to the wonderful professionals who practice here.

I have never done so much chasing and admin for the prices they're charging.

So helpful and kind - I was able to get an appointment really clearly. The doctor I saw and the staff were really accommodating (extra important during Covid times)

I'm currently using the Edinburgh Practice and have done so for several months now. I can already say that the service they provide is life changing. From the receptionists to my allocated psychologist, Dr Hannon, everyone makes you feel like you are welcome. The practice is an environment that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed - I feel free to talk and I feel they want to listen. The facilities are fantastic and I actually look forward to visiting and talking. They are very well organised, communicate well, have an effective booking system that makes the whole process easy. I would highly recommend them to anyone look for mental health support. I'm very grateful for The Edinburgh Practice and Dr Hannon for existing and providing the level of service they do. Thank You.

Cannot recommend this practice highly enough! My son was having some difficulties after the months of lockdown and the psychologists and psychiatrist at the Edinburgh practice have been so wonderful with him. They have made a huge impact on his mental health and well-being. I’m so happy to see him thriving again with the help of the team at Edinburgh practice. I feel so supported and I know he does too. Thanks so much!

Would really not recommend the Edinburgh Practice for any form of help with ADHD or similar. On multiple occasions I’ve had to leave multiple voicemails or email ‘chasing up’ psychiatrists and administrative staff in order to get a hold of my prescriptions / important documents that provide access to the help I need (over a month once). Wouldn’t say the practice’s culture is particularly conducive to providing those with ADHD greater accessibility or support. Was also never informed or spoken through the side effects of my medication (Elvanse) before being prescribed it, which although suits me fine now (after over a year) was a pretty tough battle to start with. The practice is very expensive and naturally people are willing to face these costs in order to access the help they need, especially given NHS waiting times. You’d hope that the service / support received would be reflected in the cost but it isn’t.

Lovely new clinic in howie street with calming interior. Got offered a cup of tea while my brother was being seen by the doctor. HOWEVER, what is not calming is having to wait 15 minutes before my brother can be seen, with no apologies from the staff. and to make matters worse, when I was sat in the waiting room while my brother is being seen, I had to listen to the two elder women on reception discussing how unprofessional and how much of a mess the practice is. word of advice keep your chatter for the staff room when no paying customers are around!! For this I have to give 1 stars and I will need to discuss this with my brother as I do not believe he is in the right care if this is what happens.

I found my experience at the Edinburgh Practice amazingly helpful. The service and follow up was first class. I had cause to use a Psychology Practice when I lived in London but the treatment which I received here was far superior. I would definitely recommend this Practice to anyone with concerns or issues. been to a few appointments here and been given diagnosis, psychiatrist was nice enough but seemed a bit disinterested and the speech and language therapist was lovely. i was a bit put off when i was barely asked any important questions pertaining to my mental health by the psychiatrist i think she asked me about 5 things before diagnosing me, when i asked her about a possible mental condition i thought i might have she made a confused face and immediately dismissed me without asking me a single question about why i thought i had it/what symptoms i thought i had. and just to top it all off it’s been 2 months since my diagnosis and i haven’t received my report yet! honestly i thought private mental health help would be any better for the price but they aren’t much better than camhs to be honest. anyways they should probably give their speech and language therapist a promotion because without her i would’ve rated it 0 stars

I spent an obscene amount of money at the practice and after my diagnosis I was basically told there is nothing they can do other than medication. There was no personal interest apart from a “check list” and I left feeling worse. The practice is quick to hound for payment whereas if I try to reach them it’s impossible. Extremely disappointing.

Psychiatrist lovely as a person and helpful. My son wouldn’t have not been diagnosed without this service in Scotland. Really appreciated so my son can get proper assistance in school
