Today I visited the recycling village in South Tyneside to empty my household bins. One member of staff was extremely rude to me and accused me very aggressively that I was dumping other peoples rubbish. He asked me why I have three bins of the same colour and when I pointed out to him I had my black, blue and green bin and not three bins of the same colour he got more aggressive with me and attempted to intimidate by threatening to ban me for a year, to take my vehicle registration number and my private hire vehicle number. I started recording on my iPhone for my safety. He refused to give me his name or the name of someone I could talk too about his behaviour too. I’m really not happy about this as it’s not the first time I’ve encountered the staff trying to be awkward. There was really no need for his behaviour.

Great site and very helpful staff. I live exactly half way between two recycling sites and south shields is my favourite. As it's always well kept so I'm not driving through debris to unload. Also if I need help the staff are always willing. Which as some days I'm crippled with arthritis is amazing.

Thanks for blocking the bus and working at a snail's pace, at the University of Sunderland and causing a massive delay and making me miss the scheduled bus and alternative train rides.

Very efficient. Need to watch to make sure you come on the correct days. All depends whether you have an odd or even number plate. South Tyneside Council website gives further details.

Just went and was told it's even number plates on this Monday, I have odd number plates so he wouldn't let me go in,I came the Monday before and it was odd number plates so I assume it was the same this Monday ,I was not happy as it was empty on the site.please make it clear so we don't waste time and petrol trying to do the right thing. NOT HAPPY.

Busy busy busy. Even arriving early (8.20) the queue was long. It did move fairly quickly though. Early opening hours are helping but be prepared to have a wait. Update 1/10 the new booking system works much better now.

Very Busy like Normal, surprisingly for Easter, on of the tips most busy times, S.T.C had Issued lots of Permits for Vans, but the Staff on the site, did restrict to just 2 at a time, so cars could get in. To Cut CO2 Emmisions and Quing then perhaps Appointment Scheme might be more Beneficial to the Carbon footprint and Local Businesses to, but staff on sight do a great job in difficult times

Been using the Village the past few weeks with decorating and renovating our house each time the staff pointed me in the right direction and where very friendly, even having a joke with the lad while waiting in the queue.

Not many people wearing masks we had ours on 2 meters not in place people just wanted in and out as massive queue to get in
