Fantastic experience! We hired a mega paddle board - 5 of us all on one board. It was so much fun! Our wonderful instructor Joe made the experience all the more perfect - not only did we learn tonnes with his informative coaching, he was funny, charming and a dream to be instructed by. What a guy! If you are thinking of booking, do it, we haven’t laughed that much in ages! And request Joe if you can! 5 stars

An excellent school trip for our 46 Year 5 children. The staff were superb and did everything they could to make it a memorable day. They were kind and helpful. The weather was perfect! Fab activities! Would definitely recommend and we’ll be back next year! 😊

I did the 2 days introduction to sailing course here (RYA 1) and it was an excellent experience all round. The staff in the centre were really helpful and the instructor Debs was brilliant. She explained everything really well, even when it was the 4th or 5th time :), and made us feel confident and secure on the water. Would definitely recommend for anyone interested in giving it a go.

Always busy in the summer. Something for everyone. Go out on the water unaided, or have guidance/lessons. And of course, theres always the ducks and swans

Wonderful experience! For a family of 6, we opted for the Katakanu activity, which did not dissapoint. It was a lot of fun! Make the reservation if you are considering it. Definitely outside of some of our comfort zones, but we had a wonderful day and will go again.

Been a few times and been great fun. Easy to book and well managed. Both adults and kids really enjoyed it.

Great day out, opportunity to get on the water without committing to joining a club. Staff friendly and helpful. A bit awkward queueing to get in then going back to the car park to inflate paddle boards, taking paddleboards to launch point, then walking a fair distance to Changing rooms and lockers (another queue). Water looked clean, enjoyed paddling around the islands. Swimmers have their own protected area but many swim in the main part of the lake with no hi-vis device and can be a hazard. I took my own equipment, however it can be hired as indeed I noticed many people did. There's other water activities too but I can't comment on those as I didn't use them.

Booked an instructor one hour paddle boarding session for me and wife. Bit hesitant not something done before. Really enjoyed it. Pat our instructor was great explained everything and was really relaxed and patient with us which made us feel really at ease and enjoy the session even more. Great time definitely going again.

Attended on a hen weekend and what a laugh we had!! Deb was fantastic at supervising our raft building (and guided us so we didn’t sink too quickly!) adding on some extra fun of ‘barrel riding!’ too expertly demonstrated by Pat. Thank you!

Easy online booking and friendly team at site. Easy access to Mere from the reception area and small grass area to sit and watch. What's not to like :-)

Had a great instructor session (with Pat); kayaking and capsize/rescue drills. Brilliant. As ever the centre staff were friendly, welcoming and adaptable. We'll be going back.

Had an amazing kayaking experience for 5 people aged from 10 years to 67 years. I was really wary thinking I wasn’t good enough and would struggle but the instructor was really encouraging and took it at our pace. She pushed the children out of their comfort zone and let the adults do as much or as little as they wanted. The time flew by and would definitely return for another go 🤗🤗🤗

Excellent experience again. We have been a few times and every experience has been excellent especially the treatment from the staff. Tom has been training our offspring for the RYA stage 2 and has been so patient and built a great rapport with all the children. The courses are an excellent introduction to sailing for the children. There are a range of activities on offer and we will be looking at more visits based on the confidence and trust that has been built.

Great staff, good equipment. Only complaint was the small area we were allowed to canoe in, which also had a bjg group of children in kayaks with an instructor and 6 paddle boarders.

Called to enquire about self launching at astbury mere for paddle boards. Spoke to 2 different members of staff who both gave me incorrect information. Ended up driving there only to be told they don't allow self launch until after 1pm. I pointed out that I spoken to 2 members of staff who both told me to turn up any time after 10am and just got told we don't advertise self launch on our website to discourage it. Either wait till 1pm or leave. We ended up driving all the way home and having a amazing day completely free on the river weaver. Paddle boarders avoid!

Came here for my son's first canoeing accreditation. Beautiful setting, friendly staff and clear communication throughout. Joe (instructor) was fantastic with my son all day and it was worth the 50 minute drive to come. We'll be back!
