My wife took me and my daughter for my birthday. I've been with birds of prey before but the range of birds there was great. Got to fly many of them and really enjoyed Millie the Raven. Excellent day and well worth the money. Chris, Don and Sandra really knew what they were taking about. Superb experience. Ten out of ten

Booked the half day experience for my wife and I. An excellent way to spend an afternoon. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable and obviously care a great deal about the birds. On arrival we were shown around the birds that they have and given a little background information on where they are from and eating habits. We got to handle a Kestral, Falcon and Vulture amongst others, under the watchful eye of Rhiannon, who provided us with more info about the birds we handled. I would highly recommend this place to friends and family, or anyone else who listens. Would definitely consider visiting again in the future.

I am very glad that I booked a full day experience; this was a highlight of my stay in England. I have been interested in falconry (especially owls) for a long time, and SMJ Falconry did not disappoint. Katy was my superb main trainer/guide for the day. She explained details of each bird and it was fun interacting with all of them. The staff were wonderful and I will go again.

Booked a half day event for our local school. ( Eternal Light) what an experience! Rhiannon the bird handler was very knowledgeable about the birds and delivered an excellent presentation with lots of fun facts and dismissing any myths about the birds. The students were in awe when the birds were in free flight in the playground. Can't wait to book next year. Keep it up guys!

Fantastic place for photography and photography workshops, location is perfect in natural surroundings for birds of prey. Worth every penny . Professional staff and bird handlers. They were hapoy to position birds where we wanted them too . 100% recommended

I bought my husband a day experience & myself a Spectator (I wish I’d of bought myself a day experience now) My husband loved every minute of the experience especially Millie the raven who is one very talented bird. All the birds are mesmerising and they all have their own unique personalities. The staff are very friendly & knowledgeable. The on-site shop is well stocked with souvenirs & a donation tin is available if you wish to donate towards the rehabilitation of the birds. Free tea & coffee is also available. We had a great experience and I would highly recommend it.

We saw a falconry display by SMJ Falconry at a local event, and we were in awe of how beautiful all of the birds brought along were, the team were really pleasant and helpful, and had plenty of time to have a chat with us and answer all of our questions before the display. The display itself was absolutely amazing! The birds put on an amazing show, and the team were great, interacted with the crowd loads and even got a group of kids and their parents involved in the display! We can't wait to see them at another event in the future, and hopefully pay them a visit soon!

What an incredible morning! We went for a hawk walk but the hawks were a little over weight to be able to fly. However, we were given a tour of all the birds and then I flew 3 birds. Holly the hawk is usually a hunter but she flew to me twice. I thought she was shy as she only did it when no one was watching her. Julianne the Vulture was such a sweetie and flew to me over and over again. It was awesome to be able to see her so close. Heidi the owl was a stunner even if a little grumpy. The team were full of interesting facts and obviously care for their birds. An unforgettable experience that I would recommend to anyone!

Fantastic collection of birds that are well looked after. Instructors are knowledgeable and cater well to their audience. Will definitely be flying with them again.

We booked a family half day falconry experience for my sons 9th birthday. It was a fantastic day. We all flew 5 or 6 beautiful birds and our guide, Steve, was so knowledgeable and patient. It was the the best day and would happily go back. Well worth the money!

Wonderful half day, getting close up to so many amazing birds. Staff made sure I got all the photos I wanted to create my art from, and had brilliant knowledge about the birds and their personalities, with lovely interaction with them. A fabulous and special experience.

Great location, lovely people, amazing birds! My experience had to be cut down due to the bad weather but they said they would let me go again to make sure I have the full experience 😃 can't ask for any more than that! If you are looking for a flying experience choose SMJ!

Absolutely enjoyed being talked through the different species of birds, their origins etc. Then watching the birds in flight was stunning. Absolutely recommend to anyone.

What an absolutely amazing day we have both had today! We did the VIP experience day. Rhiannon was just excellent and really knew her stuff. Our favourite quote if the day was 'the brains arent bad, the eyeballs are worse, they stain' which made us laugh! We were able to handle 14 birds during our visit and fly we think 10 of those - one on a short hawk walk which was just a great experience. We were also introduced to a lot of the other birds in their aviaries perches. We genuinely couldn't choose a favourite but Willow was amazing, Tonto was adorable and friendly, Ivan was so majestic, Julianne such a great character, Peter was lovely, Twighlight a good showgirl and of course Arlo was such a show stopper! The surroundings are stunning. We cannot recommend SMJ enough. 5 stars not enough!

Spent the day hunting pheasants and rabbits with my lovely bird Holly. Such a great unique adventure for this Canadian tourist! I would love to be back on my next visit and I have already recommended a stop in for all my English friends.

Brilliant team of friendly and professional staff and owners, beautiful birds and just the most amazing experience. In such a gorgeous area as well, surrounded by rolling hills and valleys carved over many years by the streams and rivers. A personal favourite is Julianne, a Hooded Vulture, cheeky and full of character; she reflects how happy and well looked after all the birds are at SMJ. **Discovered today that SMJ have a 20% discount on loads of their visits and experiences, well worth a visit and vouchers are valid for 12 months, so now is a great time to buy.

Had a fabulous day, despite the weather. Bought the experience for my husbands birthday. Loved getting up close to these amazing birds. Everyone is very friendly and give you lots of info about all the birds. Loved Julia the vulture running across the grass and Midge the tiny owl 🦉 Would highly recommend a visit.
