A small fish market, where we go to get some fresh fish and prawns. When our local supermarkets stopped selling fresh seafood due to the pandemic (not exactly sure why), we have been using Vivers for our seafood needs and they never disappoint. Couple of top tips from me: 1. If you are driving there, you can park right outside the shop while you buy your fish for free. There is also a large pay and display car park a short 2min walk away from the shop, but it will cost you at least £3 to park there. There is also pay and display parking on the nearby streets. 2. Make sure you go nice and early especially on weekends, if you want the widest choice of fish and other seafood. Great place with fresh fish from the boat. I got so much fish, prawns ect for such reasonable prices . It was wonderful to be by the dock hearing seagulls, having the real fresh fish smell around you. Awesome experience. Definitely be back

I LOVED the staff!!! Knowledgeable and very friendly. They may not have had fish I wanted, but that's inevitable. Me not being SPOILT - that does not affect their rating. Prices are very reasonable for freshly caught fish. Obviously frozen salmon from local asda might be cheaper, but it's not quite the same, is it? Been shopping here for few times and I will definitely return for many more times. Mackerel after smoking - literally the best I've had in my lifetime. This sort of freshness cannot be achieved from frozen fish! 👌👌

My last two visits the place has been shut despite visiting during advertised opening hours. On the 30th April there was a sign up saying closed until the 4th may. On the 7th may there was a sign up saying closed until further notice. Two wasted journeys.

Not many things to buy when I been there on Sunday, but the price is very attractive and the staff are lovely.

Come early to avoid disappointment. Lots of varieties of fresh fish. Fresh crab, prawns, Dover sole, bream, sea bass etc etc. They also sell fresh seafood sandwiches to take away to eat by the harbour when the sun is shining while watching the big boats in. Frozen seafood. Friendly staff. They will clean the fish for u while u wait. Parking available. Walking distance from Gunwharf Quays. Few restaurants n pubs around Fish Portsmouth too. Highly recommended.

Fish Portsmouth has taken over from Viviers. It’s open 6 days a week now. Absolutely fantastic. Great quality and wide choice of fish and shell fish. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff. We go every week and are never disappointed.

Simply perfect. Great selection of fish, always exceptionally fresh, good prices and served by knowledgeable, helpful staff. Also wonderful prepared items like lobster and garlic butter or maybe fish pie. Highly recommended and not to be missed.

Sadly, having written a glowing review after my first visit (see below), my partner went in today (30/5/23) to get 1.5kg of wild sea bass (at £21/kg) only to be told "I can't clean it today", with no reason given 😞 It's so nice to go to a quality fish market. On the flipside, everything looks so good that if, like us, you've got a small freezer, you've got a tough job deciding what to get and what you're going to have to come back for. First world problem! We started with two whole sea bass, that were an impressive size, compared to the tiny fillets you get in the supermarkets. We had them filleted for us, and kept the rest to make a stock with. We bought several other nice bits as well, but it was a few weeks ago, when Google wouldn't let me write this review because it said the place was closed, so I can't remember everything. I do remember us buying skewers that we barbecued on the beach the next day, that everyone was impressed with, and saying we had to go back.

Disappointing. Raw mussels and dressed crab were put in the same bag. Prawns were tasteless and full of grit. Can only assume the dust from the building works has contaminated the fish?

I got some prawns yesterday 01.07.23. I can honestly say they were the best prawns I have ever had. Absolutely beautiful intense flavour. Thank you from the last customer of the day.

Dressed crab was delicious. But very disappointed with the prawn and crab mix. I couldn't read the label on the plastic box and as it was placed in a white plastic bag and a carrier bag along with the dressed crab. It wasn't until I got home and removed it from the packaging and read the label that I realised that it's not crab or prawns but some over salted crab flavoured processed fish scraps and a waste of money. Looking up the word that's used in the ingredients list it comes up as a paste made from fish/ seafood........ and tastes disgusting!

Located in Old Portsmouth very near Gunwharf Quays and adjacent to the Wighlink ferry terminal. The shop was comprehensively refurbished in autumn 2023 and the result is nothing less than a transformation. Clearly a lot of money has been spent in bringing the shop bang up to date. A very popular venue judging by the numbers of customers when I visited on a Saturday morning. Plenty of free parking immediately outside. The shop is spotlessly clean (no nasty fish smell) with a vast range of fresh and frozen fish and seafood for sale including live lobsters, crabs and prawns etc., plus a comprehensive range of fish orientated accompaniments (sauces, spices, condiments etc.) to suit a range of cuisines. Well worth a visit if you are in the market for fresh fish.

Cheaper and more choices than Littlehampton that I usually go, maybe because most of seafood are originally from Portsmouth.
