Great food drinks location and service. A very interesting restaurant with multiple dishes like tapas that offer great tastes and flavour combinations. Reservations are required as this is a popular restaurant and will probably be required. I tried many dishes and I was very impressed with them all. The corn on the cob was absolutely amazing. The pork belly again was superb and everything I tried I really enjoyed. Great cocktails and choices too. Excellent service highly recommended

Came here for a nice date night. Had a good evening, staff were attentive, and knew what they were talking about when recommending the food. Definitely three dishes per person it enough. The cocktails were lovely. The food flavours were good. Apart from the pork belly (too chewy for my liking) but that's personal preference. Would come back again!

Off the charts - I would give more stars if I could; best tapas and cocktails - simply bursting with flavour! Beautifully presented, so tasty and filling. We are tapas enthusiasts, and this was very special! Portsmouth - you are lucky to have such a unique and wonderful restaurant like Maya!!

Lovely food, great service too. Didn't get many pictures because we were running out of space on the table and needed to get it eaten! The portions are bigger than standard tapas dishes, so be wary of ordering things thinking there won't be enough to share! Cocktails are good as well, the caiparinha is particularly good, just like they make it in Portugal. I had a non alcoholic one, think it was called a refresher, and it was so good! Highly recommended over-all.

There is only one word I can use to describe the food, and that is outstanding. In my opinion, this is the best restaurant in Southsea. Offering a great menu to choose from. A bit like tapas, it serves multiple dishes, which includes meat, fish, and vegetables. I can recommend the corn on the cob dish it was really delicious. The restaurant is busy so booking a table is recommended. Service was excellent and friendly. Highly recommended

Lovely restaurant, fantastic service. Celebrated a birthday and the food is always delicious. Few new things to the menu, including tacos in lettuce which were amazing! Huge variety and many dishes to select from. We shall be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Now this place is a gem in Portsmouth. It has rave reviews and I can add to that collection of positive feedback. The interior is very welcoming and warm - perfect for a group reservation or table for two. The food is phenomenal in it’s flavours and presentation. The tapas style allows for a mind blowing mixture of flavours and textures. You can order some of the meat options, fish and vegetable options all at once and have a really fun feast. It is a great concept that is used all over the world but it’s executed perfectly at Maya. The cocktails and mocktails are just that cherry on top for your experience to be complete. You will love their variety of options for alcoholic and non-alcohol drinks which cleanse your palate as you move onto your next small plate. Be aware that this is a very popular restaurant so be sure to reverse a table for yourself and make the most of the dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for the locals, students and anyone visiting the area. You’ll be left feeling highly satisfied.

Had a lovely dinner in Maya a few weeks back- really loved the prawn tacos, the gorgeous corn and the crispy pork!! Wasn’t a big fan on the ceviche, I felt that it could improve in terms of freshness but flavours were on point. Still super keen for another visit for the other dishes and cocktails.

Date restaurant. Price alright, atmosphere awesome, service outstanding. Flavor... meh. Food do look exquisite but it is “ok”. Tortillas/nachos should be standard ones and quesadillas cheese was a bit tasteless and too oily (oil in the dish, added). Speed for food super good. I ordered these 3 dishes 19.50£ The “chimichurri” on the steak was nothing to do with a real chimichurri. Meat was ok.

Great service and wonderful food & cocktails! Three little dishes per person were enough to satisfy ourselves although the were so many choices to pick from! Had Garlic Quesadillas (not too garlicy so safe to pick for a date meal and it was sooo good!) Jalapeño Fritters, Duck Tacos, Carnita Tostado, Avocado Tacos... Loved the portion sizes, presentation, taste, service and prices were very reasonable too! It's a smaller restaurant but very lovely intimate interior! Highly recommend for a lovely occasion and would love to come back!

Do not hesitate. This is the place to eat in Portsmouth. Loved it. Food is super and there is something for everyone. Take the advice of the hosts on how much to order. Will return, so book your table before I book it.

Amazing vibes, looks and feels great inside, really cosy and welcoming! Staff are lovely, food is Yum and cocktails also amazing. Great night, thanks Maya!! They reckon you need 3-4 plates each but I think we had 5 between 2 of us and that was genuinely a nice dinner. See how hungry you are :)

Yea so this lives up to the hype. We had heard from lots of our friends that this restaurant wasn't to be missed but hadn't managed to organise an evening to visit. It was well worth it and we should have visited sooner. The restaurant has great vibes; good music, busy and welcoming staff. The colleagues that served us were friendly and well informed of the restaurants offerings. We had a recommended amount of food to order which of course we ignored because there were so many dishes we fancied ordering! Between two of us we have three nibbles (starters) which were very well presented and tasty. We opted for the manchego, katsu bites and garlic quesadillas. All of these dishes were fantastic. For mains we ordered a bit more, in hindsight maybe too much. Each dish, again, was very well presented and tasty. Our favourite main were the ribs, patatas bravas and tomato salad. All of our dishes were washed down by some well made cocktails. We had a great night and will definitely return, this restaurant was a hidden gem to us.

Really good quality food - tapas style. Would absolutely recommend trying Maya - we will come back when we are next down from Kent. Waiting staff first class. Add a few minutes to find a parking spot. Some unusual beers as well. Well worth going. 4 of us all in £135.

Ah, finally a really good restaurant, which fully deserves its 5 stars! I am delighted to have pushed the door of this establishment. I had a very nice trip thanks to the impeccable cuisine and presentation of the dishes I tried. A little advice, book a trip quickly!

My girlfriend and I came here for our first dinner date and we had a lovely time. Staff were friendly and really helpful. Food was really good, full of flavours and beautifully presented for photos to share with family and the fine dining experience was wonderful. We would recommend 3 dishes per person since it is more of a tapas style restaurant. It is a bit pricey but well worth trying. We will try to visit again on a special occasion.

Popped in on a Friday night with the hope they could accommodate a couple wanting a drink. I wouldn't have been surprised if was a no but as always very accommodating and helpful service from the staff who cleared a table for us. Great drinks and great atmosphere. Highly recommended
