Staff were attentive and friendly. Wonderful and conscientious service with good attention to detail with regards to guests' personal preferences and needs. Food was amazing. Flavours and textures really took me back to eating with my family in Malaysia and Singapore. Much thought put into elevation while preserving the distinct aspects of South East Asian cuisine, which I found so nostalgic. I was enamoured with the lobster laksa I almost cried. It really brought a lot of joy to my heart but this might be becuase I am so sentimental when it comes to the foods of my childhood. Pictured are: coconut dessert, stir fried seafood noodles, mallion sharing starter and lobster laksa.

By far one of my favorite restaurants in London, amazing & authentic Singaporean food with exceptional service. Will definitely go again. The platter is a must order!

Singaporean chili crab wasn’t authentic but good portion. Not enough broth and toppings in the laksa. Disappointed in the pastries by renowned pastry chef Cherish, and the “fun element” of our dessert leaked everywhere

2023 reviews: I recently had the pleasure of dining at Straits Kitchen Sunday Roast, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The restaurant offers a relax and inviting ambiance, and the service provided by the staff was exceptional. I was particularly impressed with the friendly and attentive nature of the staff members, who were attentive, to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. One of the highlights of my visit was the roast section. The selection of roasted meats was outstanding, and the Hainanese Chicken was soft and tender. I couldn't help but indulge in extra servings. If you're a fan of perfectly cooked meats, the roast section at Straits Kitchen is definitely worth exploring. However, I must admit that I was slightly disappointed with the desserts offered at Straits Kitchen. While they had a decent variety, the overall taste and quality fell short of my expectations. The desserts lacked the finesse and creativity compare to my previous experience, and they failed to leave a lasting impression. I believe there is room for improvement in this aspect of the dining experience. Another aspect that didn't quite meet my expectations was the laksa broth. As a fan of this iconic Singaporean dish, I was assuming its consistency and authentic taste at Straits Kitchen. However, I found the laksa broth to be below par. It lacked the depth of flavour and way too much sugar. It felt rather plain and didn't deliver the burst of flavours I was hoping for. Despite these minor setbacks, the overall experience at Straits Kitchen was still enjoyable, thanks to the excellent service and the standout roast section. The friendly staff members truly elevated the dining experience, and their attentiveness was much appreciated. I would recommend Straits Kitchen reviews it menu and don’t let the good reputation ruin for a minor mistakes. 2022 reviews : The best Sunday Roast in town, love the hainanese chicken and roast pork. Always leave some room for the amazing sweets

Very elegant restaurant located on the second floor of the Pan Pacific Hotel. Service was very good and attentive. For starters I ordered the tiger king prawns. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce was full of flavour. For mains ordered the prawn and squid noodles. This was also very tasty and the seafood tasted fresh. Finally for dessert I ordered the apple crumble which was my favourite course. 100% recommend coming to this restaurant which is often overlooked by tourists.

We booked our reservation for Christmas Day roast buffet at Straits kitchen to celebrate anniversary. Unfortunately we didn’t feel any special about this place that stands out, there’s no special arrangement even though my partner leave a note that we were celebrating our anniversary there. Food The buffet range is too less choice at the price level. I don’t find anything that could tally with the price (£118 per pax) for eg the meat selection is only roast duck, turkey, pork and salmon. The meat selection tasted very bland and dry. We thought this place too highly when we saw it was a “buffet”. The sides selection has nothing special with only Glutinous rice, basic veg, fried shrimp, Yorkshire pudding and that’s it. Really basic stuff they offer when the price is at £118pp I thought there could be some seafood/ more main selection. However the dessert selection is more than main and sides but we just find the price is not worthy for the meal… the menu also mentioned there will be magician/Santa performance but we didn’t have any sight of them throughout the whole time we sit there😂 Service Service was fine at the beginning but when I started to dive in and finish my plate during second round the waiter(looks like one of the manager judging from the outfit) just cleaned all of my plates and cutlery but didn’t come back and replace me a new cutlery. I find this action impolite as it makes me feels like I have to go quickly whilst I’m only had my second plate of food. I honestly do not appreciate this and I didn’t bother to ask them to replace my cutlery afterwards, I have the expectation that they will noticed given you are a fine cuisine locate in a 5 star hotel. Overall quite disappointing experience and would not recommend..

The vibes and service level was really good, with the staff being very pleasant and friendly as well. However, the food was not authentic at all, with the hokkien mee being really disappointing. It was a poor representation of anything you could get in Singapore, with the taste profile being really bland. Thou the chilli that accompanied it was really good. Duck confit was however done pretty well. The Cod that we order was decent, but the taste profile was rather mild. We also ordered the 5hour slow cook beef that was not as tender as we imagined a 5hour slow cook would give. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant.

We saw influencers on TikTok and Instagram recommend here and wanted to treat our Malaysian Chinese dad for his big 70th birthday. We pre-ordered to make the experience a bit smoother, and asked if we could bring a special cake for him, for which they charge a £5 per person cake cutting fee! I arrived 30 minutes early to drop the cake off, letting them know it was a surprise and I described my dad so they would know who to place it in front of. Things started to go downhill from there. We ate "family style" (everything comes at once), but all but one dish came out warm or room temperature. The hot and sour lobster soup had overcooked lobster and it was so bitter, it was like a whole yuzu was squeezed into each individual bowl. The crispy pork belly was tough and not crispy. The Straits Kitchen platter was average: the chilli prawns' sauce was mostly on the head, leaving the prawn itself tasteless; aromatic duck rolls were dripping in hoisin sauce, making them sickly sweet; the crispy black cod had more batter than fish; the morel golden cup was the best but tiniest thing on the platter. Of the large plates, the umami black cod was cooked well, but rather than umami, it lacked seasoning. The saffron rack of lamb was cooked inconsistently: the first chop perfect, the second too gristly, the third overdone. The char kway teow had flavour, but the kway teow's texture was chewier than it should be. The vegetarian mee goreng was far too sweet, more like a dry mee rebus; not to mention that we pre-ordered seafood mee goreng, not the vegetarian one! We also pre-ordered rice, but they didn't arrive, so we had to re-order. Traditionally, Hainanese chicken rice is cooked using the chicken broth, but we could barely taste it. The tableside sauce flaming was fun to watch, but that's where the excitement ended. On the menu, you can choose wok-fried crab (which is more hands on) or soft-shell crab (easier to eat). Since we pre-ordered two crabs (XO Sarawak Lada Hitam, and Straits crab) with soft shell, we were confused when two wok-fried crabs came out. When we asked to replace them, they were only going to replace one until we showed our reservation email to prove we asked for both to be soft. The accompanying mantou were lukewarm when first placed on the table. We hoped hotter replacement mantou would be brought with the correct crabs, but we were left with the now cold ones. Both crab sauces were overpoweringly sweet. The Straits crab sauce lacked any heat from the chilli, despite it being marked with two chilli icons in the menu to denote spiciness. The XO was less sweet, but still much sweeter than it should have been. After the table was cleared, we hoped the cake surprise would help. That was until our main waiter said “So actually, we have a little something special in the back. How many slices would you like?” I was stunned; clearly my request for discretion wasn't passed on, leaving me embarrassed and I apologised to my dad for the ruined surprise. We had to check if they were planning to bring the cake out whole so we could sing Happy Birthday. The waiter then asked who he should put the cake in front of (so the description of my dad wasn't passed on either). As he put it down in front of my dad, the plastic cake collar was still wrapped around the cake!!! To wash it down, my sister's cappuccino was more like a piping hot latté, and we could not taste oat milk, which she requested. The waiter’s answer when asked was still unclear, so we asked them to take the coffee back and not replace it. Even the other coffees came tepid, with our family friend finishing his coffee in less than 5 sips. The manager offered to welcome us back for the Weekend Roast, but we just aren't confident it would be a good experience. Even upon checking the “final” bill, one of the incorrect wok-fried chilli crabs was still on the there! Our dad at the end of the meal remarked that the food was “edible, not fantastic” and was visibly unhappy with the cake scenario, leaving my sister and me incredibly disappointed and embarrassed.

Such a fantastic lunch at Straits Kitchen! The food and service was excellent. In addition as my wife and I were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary, they pulled out all the stops and made us feel incredibly welcome.

Straits Kitchen at Pan Pacific was just the perfect ending to the weekend. The Sunday Roast Bottomless Brunch was just amazing and I would definitely come back. The FoH and staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was impeccable and delicious. My lovely and sweet friend picked this place and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. A true hidden gem.

Straits kitchen positions itself as providing close to genuine Singaporean cuisine as possible. Atmosphere is good, in a modern hotel. Staff are attentive. Food is the disappointment. The chilli crab lacked heat and it was not one crab but lots of bits of crab. Plates were delivered cold. Side dishes were all under seasoned and cold. As a festive £88 per person menu plus drinks, it is very expensive for the quality of food. The chef was clearly not present the night we ate there.

We went on Saturday 29th January for a birthday meal, great location and decor, thats where the positives end, the sharing starter of duck rolls was 2 standard sized rolls, mot enough for 2 people, the chicken satay consisted of 4 small satays, again not enough for £14. The main meal of chilli crab for £55 was not tasty and the chicken rice portion was an insult. Bill total £150 for two people which one alcoholic drink left a very sour taste. Definitely not worth the hype or money.

Dining at Straits Kitchen in London was an absolute delight! First and foremost, the soft-shell crab was a real treat, tantalisingly fresh with a hint of sweetness. The prawns were impeccably cooked, succulent and tender to the bite. The lobster laksa was a triumph, with its rich coconut broth paired brilliantly with the fresh lobster meat, each spoonful oozing with Southeast Asian flavours. But the pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the Hainanese chicken rice. The chicken was perfectly tender, and the rice was aromatic without being overly greasy, truly evoking fond memories of meals in Singapore. The appetiser platter showcased a fantastic array of treats, each one moreish in its own right. To round off the evening, the apple dessert was the perfect endnote, sweet without being cloying. All in all, Straits Kitchen offers a veritable gastronomic journey to Singapore. Heartily recommended to anyone with a penchant for Southeast Asian cuisine!

My second time coming to SK. FoH was extremely lovely and friendly. I got a check in call as I was running late, which was really nice. Our waiter was also lovely and topped up our prosecco. The food was lovely too. The Laksa was my fave today. Definitely a spot for special days. Thank you.

Festive 4 Course Set Menu was wonderful. Compliments to the chef. Snow crab melts in your mouth, Peking duck was premium quality, sauce to the steak was magical, rice was special. Ambiance was perfect. Service great (thank you Siddhesh). Drinks enjoyable. Few minutes walk from Liverpool Street station. I had a fantastic evening

It’s different cuisine if you want to try something different as a person who lived in Singapore for 7 years its definitely authentic! The apple dessert is to die for!! A must try! We tried: - 4 different unique and original cocktails combination of SEA drinks and mix of west (a must try!) 1 - Merlion sampler platter - Singapore chilli crab and fried mantou buns - Pak choi and red chilli - Apple dessert which was very clever and amazing presentation

The service is atrocious, in spite of it being very overstaffed for the very few diners. The atmosphere is only slightly better than that of a morgue. Staff are completely disinterested in serving and need to be asked constantly. The food is very very poor; bland, unappetising and cold. I feel very sorry for those who created the space, which is beautiful and perfect for a City restaurant, but the food and service wouldn't be tolerated in even a remote suburban high street. The restaurant really lets the hotel down and won't be there for long, surely.

Atmosphere and service were impeccable- ambience is great and so is the decor. Great views of outside and the city. For food we got the platter which was lovely, very tasteful. We also got poppadom chips which needed a sauce and the mandou bread which was nice and sweet. For mains we got the lobster laksa which was lovely but difficult to eat- the broth was really lovely as were the fish cakes. We also got the lamb with rice which was good but needed a bit more and the quantity for £40 isnt great. We also got a mocktail which was great and they have a fantastic selection to choose from. We had a discount so our overall bill was £75 but I wouldn’t say it’s worth £140.

I had dinner with my brother and I would highly recommend this place. They have a wide range of very tasty Asian dishes. From starters to mains with succulent deserts and banging cocktails; it's definitely the place to go for a foodie! Great service and friendly staff on top of it all! Cocktails are really amazing!!! 🌟

Arrived from the US to Liverpool Street Station and was looking forward to finding something unique London. We found a gem... Straits Kitchen. Once there the atmosphere and service was top notch. I especially like how the greeter offered us a spot near the bar until our table was ready. Also, when our table was ready, we didn't have to do anything. The bartender brought out drinks to us and he remembered what we ordered. I believe his name was Dominic. The shareable food options were flavorful and portion sized just right. The duck rolls were my favorite. I imagined the brick prawns to be much larger than they were, but very tasty. Lastly, I think the prices were reasonable. Definitely will visit again during my next travels to London.

It was a Wednesday evening. We were here for a birthday meal. We haven’t experienced a great fine dine-in restaurant in London for a while. But still have a hope for this place. We love the fancy vibe and chilled atmosphere here. The staff are very attentive and friendly. We ordered red lantern and lucky tiger as drinks. A platter and beef tataki as starters. Mee goreng, slow cooked beef ribs, and duck leg as main courses. Apple and mango as dessert. They also offered a complimentary birthday dessert which is very thoughtful. The food is well-presented and absolutely delicious. The taste of the food are all beyond our expectations. Totally nothing to complain about. It’s also a dog friendly restaurant. They provide cushion and water for dogs. Overall, it is pricy but definitely worth it. It was a satisfying birthday meal. We can’t wait to go back to try the Sunday roast and more dishes on the menu. Highly recommend this place. Thanks to straits kitchen for giving us such a great evening.

Lovely service, nice decor, mocktails were great, the platter was tasty, but the hokkien mee and mango dessert was particularly disappointing. Portion size really small, especially considering the punchy price tag. Not at all authentic, but a classy place for a night out.

Delicious food in a very upscale environment. The service was thoughtful and fast. The food style is similar to elevated Singapore Hawker food and the restaurant manages to take it to the next level. The deserts were absolutely fantastic. Recommend the Orange themed desert particularly.

Finally taste of authentic Singaporean flavours in London. Pan Asian Sunday roast is what London needed. I can't wait to go back again!! That ROAST pork belly, duck and chicken all chopped right in front of you by the chef!! The staff were so attentive and smiling all the time which makes it almost perfect dining experience.
