The staff was really friendly. We had a nice evening and enjoyed the lentil soup the best.

This place was suggested by the young lady from the hotel. It was a great suggestion. The food is amazing and do full of flavor. We got the platter to sample the olives and dips. Then they suggested the Fah'sa. It was wonderful. So bubbly hot and flat bread to dip in it.

Yemen Heaven is an oasis within the walls of York. The food is delicious, the service amazing and so friendly. The atmosphere and vibe is so chilled out. I spend my time having lunch and sipping mint tea while working away on my laptop.

One of the best lamb tagine I've had. Was piping hot and full of flavour to the last bite. The home made flat bread was soft to baked to perfection. Highly recommend this little gem 💎 lovely family run business.

Amazing Came upon this place by Google and glad we did. Luckily weather allowed us to sit outside and enjoy this delicious meal. Everything served was superb 👌 and the lamb mandi was the best! I wish these lovely people success and hope they continue to serve beautiful food this way.

On a brief visit to York I went to Yemen Heaven after friends suggested it and I'm so glad I did. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Don't miss out on the Bisbas Chutney, it will make your mouth feel very much alive! Everything was fresh and delicious and the service simply outstanding. A gem!

Arabian desserts are 10/10. Outdoor seating is lovely, music's great - sets the tone. Food's halal (thank you!!). Love to go there for shisha with my friends, it's good fun. Just a very cute and chill space. Also the chicken mandi!!!! It was actually the best; the chicken was so soft and tender, praises to the chef! No picture of the chicken mandi because we ate it so quickly. And everything is decently priced. The three of us altogether spent £65.00 for a main and sides, desserts and shisha. Good customer service; be a bit more attentive to clearing up. Maybe a bigger selection of soft drinks. But love you guys!!!

Visited with my friends today and it was the best restaurant experience we’ve had in york in the last 3 years that we’ve lived here. Service was amazing, food was AMAZING and the atmosphere / vibe was perfect. Definitely a hidden gem. Sad to only discover it in our final year. Lamb was succulent and falling off the bone, chicken was tender, and the salad/yoghurt was lovely. The outside garden area is beautiful. Sooo worth the visit💖

Superb early dinner. My wife, 2yr old son, and I visited Yemen Heaven for an early dinner with two friends. We sat in the cosy outdoor seating area in the sun and received warm hospitality. The food was very fresh, really well prepared, and authentic. The owner kindly brought out freshly cooked bread and traditional Yemen tea on the house. Good place for kids, however no baby changing. We felt really well looked after and we can highly recommend this place for a casual lunch or dinner!

The best Arabic food in York. Mandi is cooked very well and the owner hospitality is amazing. Adani tea is great. I will recommend it if would like to try delicious food. Thanks Om Mohammad.

I highly recommend this Yemeni restaurant for any occasion! The portions are very good and the quality of the food is very impressive. We got the occasion to try new flavours with the salad, the lamb tajine and the bean tajine, which were all delicious! The service was as good as the ambiance with local music. We were disappointed with the Jack Rabbit Malbec that was weirdly very sweet. The rest was absolutely perfect.

Our 1st visit to Yemen Heaven after reading the great reviews. The food was fantastic,particularly the lamb tagine and homemade bread, however we were a little disappointed at the portion size, particularly the tabboula salad which was £6 for a tiny bowl (see photo) . Albeit a starter but felt it was overpriced for the size of the dish . The service was great, very attentive and friendly staff. We'd recommend visiting if you're looking to try something different, with great flavours but feel it's somewhat overpriced for the portion sizes.

The Chicken Mandi was undoubtedly the highlight of our meal - hands down the best chicken we've ever tasted, cooked to perfection. Muna, was an absolute sweetheart, attentive to our needs, and made our visit truly memorable. Kudos also to Moe and Tom, who were incredibly hardworking and involved in ensuring every guest had a fantastic time. What a lovely, unassuming restaurant. Great aesthetic choices. Food was small tasty menu with a Yemeni spin on some Middle Eastern classics. Staff were very pleasant! They even have a headed back garden. Reasonably priced. Just raving about this place

I've been wanting to check out Yemen Heaven since hearing about owner & head chef Muna's inspirational story a while back. As someone quite familiar with Arabic food, I actually hadn't tried many specific Yemeni dishes...it was beyond my expectation, flawless quality food really- I went twice for a reason during my short trip to York. I tried the Fahsa tagine, lamb isn't my favourite thing but it looked so good and it was- ate the whole thing!!! I had the best Chicken Mandi I will ever have in my life here too! Also delicious Knafeh.. and one of the best Limonana I've had- my favourite drink that I'm so picky with! It's run by the most sweetest hospitable Yemeni family- I had the loveliest of conversations about family & food with Muna, her son & daughter. Muna spends all day from morning preparing & cooking fresh authentic Yemeni food- so rest assured you're getting the best. Can't wait to come back ❤️

The food is incredible and the staff is very friendly. They accommodated our silly request to sit in the back so we could surprise our family, and we had a lovely meal.

The food was good. Ambience was lovely and the Staff were great. My friends had Shisha and they thought the offerings were suitably diverse. Decent Night out to be honest.

Lovely experience here this weekend. We booked prior to arriving, an absolute necessity at this time of year. A little confusion on ordering as not been before and was unsure on some of the dishes and the waitress was unable to understand what we were asking, but we got there in the end. The food was absolutely delicious, service was good and we would definitely visit again if in the area. Thank you for a memorable evening.

This is a amazing place to eat something different, real home cooked family recipes, it's a small menu but that's what makes it great. The staff are amazing from the greeting to even the chef saying hello. We had the hummus and freshly made flatbread as a starter. For the main we had Fah'sa which came out in a hot stone bowl, served with fresh made flatbread again. The atmosphere is lovely, however the decor is a little run down.. However this is due to not fault of their own as they got broken into by vandals that destroy the place. Overall: simple home cooked food by amazing people working hard to make their dream come true. The most Authentic Middle Eastern(Yemani Cuisine) Traditional Restaurant in the North Yorkshire, superb quality and great taste full of flavours just like Mothers recipes , prepared and Served by a lovely family who looks after the customers very well. They got shisha too and is quite decent. A must try in York. Keep it up Team Yemen Heaven!

So glad me and my sister found this place! Lovely family run restaurant. We sat out at the back garden, loved the decor! Felt like I was on holiday! The food was the best I’ve had in York. We ordered the fool dish, baba ganoush with flat bread and the fattoush. We enjoyed every dish and would definitely recommend :)

What an amazing gem we found on our weekend away in York. The food was absolutely fantastic,full of flavour,the lamb tender,the rice fragrant,everything cooked to perfection. The Adaan tea is like a sweet hot dessert in a cup,increadibly tasty,warming deliciousness. The service is very friendly,attentive. We had a great night out,and thank you again Yemen Heaven.

The food was authentic and delicious . Everything was perfect and tasty from the mains to the desserts. The Om Ali was a highlight.The Arabic coffee is also one of the best I‘ve had and I am usually very picky. It felt like you‘ve been invited to a home cooked meal in Yemen.

Food, surroundings and staff were all really great, the drinks could have been served quicker but that didn't spoil a lovely afternoon experience in their garden. Would recommend and definitely go again.

The food is delicious and seems quite authentic to me. It is a small menu but has enough variety, even for a fussy eater like me. Service was super friendly, relaxed but efficient. We will be back!

Great food and very welcoming staff. Ended up ordering too many bread based items, and unfortunately didn't have time for dessert. But all very tasty and will definitely be going back to try out the other dishes as soon as I can.
