Incredible food!! If you go with a big group I’d recommend ordering a side portion of everything to share like tapas. Worked really well! Everything was fantastic.

Went out for a wonderful meal this evening with the family. If you want great tasting authentic indian food then I highly recommend! The host was super friendly and accommodating, also told us about the save the soil movement which was very interesting. The food looks wonderful, fresh from the kitchen and is delicious. Great prices and portions. Was a very enjoyable evening and we shall be coming back again!

Exceptional food but just let down in other areas. On a positive note, the food is unique full of flavour. It’s modern, fresh and seasonal. Hard to fault and if the review was for food alone this with be a 6 star review. Food prices fair for what is clearly a lot of effort to create. Dietary requirement’s excellently catered for. Regarding service, in my view having one front of house person is a mistake. I just felt it not relaxing to see someone so busy while I am meant to have a relaxing meal out. We were not ignored, and service was attentive but that extra pair of hands would give customers a better experience. You try to explain elements in each dish while new customers enter the restaurant and other customers want drinks and other customers wait for their starters to be cleared… etc etc Atmosphere was let down, the music was so sleepy my dinner companions nearly fell asleep waiting for the starters. The table was so sticky too… I mean really sticky! don’t think it was dirty, perhaps just needs a sanding down. Soap dispensers in toilets empty too. Drinks menu a bit odd and overpriced . £6 for a coke! I wish Kesarum nothing but success. Glad I visited but for me not a 5 star overall.

Lovely place. Great plant based menu really enjoyed our meal here. Chatting to the front of house guy I could genuinely see the passion and hard work they are putting into this business. The food was really well throughout we had the snacks, starters and main! All of which was well presented and tasted delicious. I would highly recommend dinner here.

Wow. Just wow. The service the food and the drinks all 10/10 Service: We were welcomed with the utmost respect and hospitality. Greeted and seated in no time whatsoever. We were given a suitable time to choose drinks with no feeling of being rushed at all. Most high end restraunts want you to be in and out so the next customer can get in and be seated. As the food and drinks were brought over, any questions we had were answered correctly and with fun/witty comments to go aside with it. The overall experience was incredible. Drinks: Now as a high end bartender/cocktail makerim always quite critical about other establishments drinks. This menu however has no fault whatsoever. The drinks accompanying the food, and the combination of both was perfect. I say this and will say again this was mine and my partners best meal we've ever had. Food: Now honestly, I don't know what way I can describe this because there is no word for how good it was. All I can say is that even a non veggie ( like my partner ) would not even bat an eyelid to how amazing the food was. Regardless who you are. I know for a FACT that there is something for everyone. I wish I took more pictures but the food got all the attention, not the phone. I implor you to go. The experience is sublime. Thank you to everyone there. 20/10

This is an Indian cousin and a vegan one. They change their menu twice a year and it is very unique. This time their menu had south Indian dishes from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka. Don't think that they serve traditional dishes but they experiment with the dishes and I am very happy that all those experiments were successful. Having maintained the basic dish taste and consistency, they enhanced the taste with new ingredients. This is more like an experience rather than having a meal. Once they serve the dish to the table, they then explain the ingredients and brief you how it is supposed to be eaten. They even give a small description for you to understand the dish explaining how to eat. This is a very unique restaurant, and the owner has a very good vision. Since there are a lot of different dishes around India, why not present them one by one and hence they keep changing the menu 2 times a year which is even better if we want to visit again. We missed having desert but will surely try them the next time. They have a limited menu at a time but the 2 dishes and the starter we ordered were very delicious.

Lovely food and very different and unique. We really enjoyed it. To help the proprietor, we would only say to seat us closer to the window to help boost the ambience for passerbys. The jackfruit is incredible and I would definitely recommend any meat-eater to try this restaurant. A teeny little more time in between our courses and more alone time to decide a dessert would finish it off well. The mocktails are amazing! We went away thinking we could suggest to Kesarum that they make more on these as a bar (as well as restaurant) as it was one of the best mocktails I have ever tasted.

We had such a great evening at Késarum! The food was truly unique, with delicious flavour combinations I've never tried before. Service was delivered with warmth and insights into each dish. The cocktails were great and the smoky old fashioned is highly recommended! We'll definitely be coming back to check out the new menu in the summer.

Highly recommend eating at Késarum, absolutely incredible food, lovely staff & atmosphere. I recommend the Beet Aloo and the Butter Chick'n. The host is also very attentive and great at recommending dishes. The cocktails are great too!

Second time dining here and once again it was an excellent experience. The dishes are presented beautifully but more importantly taste delicious. Different menu to last time as it changes seasonally but equally impressive. Lovely atmosphere. Indian fine dining that’s fully plant based!

This is the best 'fine dining' approach to Indian cuisine I've ever had. Every dish is immaculately presented, carefully flavoured and very unique, with multiple aspects to each meal that the server will talk you through before you eat. The food is immaculate, we will be back and will definitely be recommending to friends.

Everything about the experience was AMAZING ❤️ The food✨ The service ✨ The atmosphere ✨ The price ✨ It's worth every single penny. We are a vegan family of 3. We had 1 of each starters-mains-desserts along with a glass of recommended red wine per person. At the end of our dinner, we were so thankful to find this vegan fine dining restaurant in Southampton. From now on, we will definitely be booking all of our special occasions dining here at Kesarum. So much more than just heading out to dinner, a real experience and flavour sensation. It was difficult to pick from such a thought out menu so we are already looking forward to going back. The team were friendly and their passion for the food made the overall evening one we'll not forget.

I visited Kesarum tonight with a very dear friend. It was genuinely one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The setting was convivial (from outside it doesn't look particularly unique or exciting but when you go in it's truly great). The food was fantastic. The owner and his small team were warm and above all passionate about their truly original food. It is obviously perfect for vegans and those who love Indian food, but more than that, it is great for anyone who really likes to eat (omnivores like me are very welcome but frankly if I could eat like that every day I would be a vegan). Please, please, please support this local restaurant because they deserve to thrive and go on to earn recognition and a Michelin star.

I am a meat eater, always have been and likely always will be. I'll be honest, I was nervous about going out to a vegan restaurant having never been to anything similar before. I was worried there would be nothing I liked, I was wrong. I trusted the owners recommendations and wasn't disappointed. It was delicious, the presentation beautiful, and I wasn't left feeling hungry, the portion size was perfect. Thank you for a lovely evening, I will be coming back.

My family and I had dinner here a couple of months ago and we were blown away by the quality and standard of the food. The presentation was very visually appealing and was only surpassed by the subsequent tasting of the food. We had a couple of cocktails also all of which were very tasty and inventive. This vegan/ vegetarian restaurant is beautifully marrying traditional Indian flavor with a modern twist and inventive preparation. The manager was very courteous, often asked us how we were liking our food and if we were happy with everything. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very welcoming, cozy and a very enjoyable place to have a meal or a couple of cocktails. Great place for couples, families, friends or going solo if one desires. Highly recommend!

Went to this restaurant as it was highly recommended. The entire menu is plant based, as are all the drinks. The service was attentive and everything came out in a really timely fashion. The food itself was sublime. Absolutely amazing quality with wonderful presentation. I've found it isn't always easy to have a fine dining experience as a vegan, but this far exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be returning again.

Lovely pure-vegan Indian restaurant - beautiful presentation and delicious flavours. Particularly recommend the Amritsari Soya Chaap - absolutely fantastic.

Me and my husband wanted to visit this restaurant for a while and I have to say we weren't disappointed. The food looked and tasted amazing. We were pleasantly surprised about the different textures and were given a lot of information from the staff what we needed to combine together for the best flavour profile and so have better experience eating the food. It's a shame they didn't offer mocktails as part of their menu. Something for Kesarum to consider in the future, but this wouldn't stop us coming back again. Update: they offer mocktail now as well, and they are fantastic.

An absolutely incredible meal, completely vegan. Beautifully presented, delicious, and varied food, with lovely cocktails. It's up there as one of our favourite restaurants now.

This was hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had. And it was all vegan. I don’t think I’ve had such a smile on my face leaving a restaurant, ever… absolutely superb. Everyone in Southampton needs to check out kesarum bistro you definitely won’t be disappointed. What a hidden gem.

This could be the next Michelin winner in my opinion! 🌟 The food itself is a celebration of all the senses - beautifully presented and explained before you're taken on a journey of flavours. Loved the paneer dish I had - made with homemade vegan paneer, especially all the sauces that came with it, as well as the rice and raita. The dessert was also very fun to eat with a bit of everything to satisfy the palate. Finally, the interior of the restaurant is gorgeous and the service is excellent. Thank you for the lovely meal! Would recommend to anyone visiting Southampton.

Had a wonderful meal here (Sept 2022) with my partner. I'm vegan, he isn't but we both thought the food and presentation was fantastic. They know their flavours and how to create beautiful dishes! Considering Késarum is a small team, the service was attentive and friendly - it's easy to see they're working really hard to deliver a fine dining experience. Book ahead though as they have limited covers. We'll definitely be visiting again soon!

Intimate small setting, on main High Street; a hidden gem. Took a while for food to arrive because we where a large party and staff of 3, but boy was it worth the wait!! The food fabulously plated. A feast for the eyes and the taste more than met the expectation and then some. The owner explained the taste notes and history of the dishes adding to the dining experience and it was a glorious experience!! Definitely will be returning. When dining out a luxury these days this restaurant was worth it’s weight in gold.

Took my mum to Kesarum for her birthday as she's veggie, the atmosphere and food were absolutely brilliant. Such a gem in the middle of Southampton, will definitely come back and have to try some of the cocktails next time! Thank you so much for your hospitality and well thought out menu. I've been blown away with the quality of the food at Késarum. I couldn't have had a better experience. The service, the drinks, and the food were provided to such high standards. I'd really recommend making a visit!

My wife and I are both committed meat-eaters but do like to explore different cuisines. We'd heard through a friend about this amazing vegan restaurant in Southampton and thought we needed to try it out. Well, we weren't disappointed as the food was utterly out of this world. Incredibly fresh, beautifully presented and bursting with flavours, this was one of the most unique taste experiences we've had since visiting Jamie Oliver's 15 Restaurant some years ago. Not only does Késarum bring Indian cuisine into the fine dining arena but it also manages to create sumptuous dishes which really play with your senses. We also enjoyed the attentive service from the owner who talked us through our meals and ensured we had the best possible dining experience. Whether you are a committed vegan looking for a totally unique dining experience or you are a meat eater who is sceptical about trying plant-based food and needs to be convinced by something out of this world, then do give Késarum a try.
