Great fishery always plenty of pegs on the Oak tree lake which fishes well, but north and south day tickets waters look a bit neglected, ie trees need cutting back on a lot of pegs , seems like all the resources are being used to keep the match lakes up to scratch ,

I have just spent four days at messingham sands. What a experience absolute jewel. first I want to thank Matt Pillay for introducing me to this place. First thing the tackle shop.. it's fishery pellets only hook and feed pellet. They are really good pellets and at affordable price. The owners are extremely nice people and helpful if you're not sure they will put you in the right direction and I will tell you the best things to fish on.the lake's are well stocked..loads of fish. The place is amazing the lakes are deep from 5 foot to 12 in places but if you ask they will tell you..and I will be going again soon to book a match just send a text it's as easy as that.. massive thumbs up 👍

Hard to rate really...they deserve more stars for the help they gave me and the fishing seems to be very good but the access to the pegs is very poor for people with mobility issues...some peg access feel like navigating cliffs to get to, very difficult to approach ...and some pegs really need a trim (hardly any casting room was booked for two nights ended up going home first night)..lovely people THANK YOU for your help but please sort some pegs for those who struggle

Fantastic runs water, caught 39 carp & F1's on Friday with 31 on Saturday, absolute bargain at £8 for two rods. I'll be back.

Visited this place to see a friend fishing, wanted to see the place and it was very peaceful. Love the picturesque views, nature at it's best. Highly recommended for people who love to fish for sport. You do need to be a member though, see their website.

Great fishing location, friendly members! Choose runswater (day ticket) lake, North or South Lake (day ticket) - for members there is Lennys Lake or Ralph's Lake

Our small fishing club have been booking matches at this venue for over 20 years. Previous owner Kev Johnson and the current owners George and Griff Robinson have been brilliant. A very good selection of match venues, well organised and fabulous fishing throughout the year. 😁

Fished a match on "Tripps" pond yesterday which is a match only pond located off normal site. Very well spaced pegs compared to most fisheries. Nice platforms and not too bad access but some pegs do have reasonably steep slopes down to them but parking is available directly behind each peg. Brilliant weighing procedure after the match done by member of fishery staff, he uses waders and stays in water whilst all weighing is done and fish are moved to slings whilst still in water...brilliant way of doing it. 😀

I gave 5 stars because the fishery deserves it. brought my kids in their first fishing experience, they caught quite a few, and some big ones too... Very friendly staff, nicely maintained place. But... there is a but: i think there's a racing track or something right next to them, and there were motorbikes racing, revving engines drove me and my son mad with the noise. If you want to leave town to go into nature, and getting more traffic sound than you could ever hear in town, then you'd be hit just as we were. Not the fishery's fault but know that if there's racing the day you want to go fishing, you won't have a moment of quiet. If you manage to avoid racing days (if there are any non-racing days that is) the place is fantastic. Will give it a try again during week days, maybe going on a Sunday was uninspired. Hate leaving a black spot on the place, so i will say it again: the place is beautiful, people are nice and helpful, and the lakes have plenty fish for you to enjoy. Nothing bad can be said about the fishery itself.
