Excellent selection of art books and art related items. Jackie is most helpful and very friendly.

I love the quirkiness of this place. It has gadgets and gizmos for all kinds of people. I really like the card, poster and book collections for sale. The two employees I interacted with were friendly and helpful. I wish there were more shops around like this.

An absolute institution in Reading! The perfect shop for gifts, cards and art. Amazing customer service too - really really helpful staff who saved the day when I last minute couldn't get to the shop to pick up a Christmas gift.

Lovely funny, unique gifts and an amazing selection of cards. Great array of presents but not suitable for children as many are crude. Prices are on the higher end for what you're getting but lots are unique and funny for locals as personalised for the area.

But is it open? It’s not. Travelled into Reading today to visit the store but found it closed 😞

Staff are always pleasant, definitely some unique, funny and (potentially) abusive cards & gifts. Visited this place for year's and will continue to do so. If you're looking for something decent, this is the shop to go to 👍

Such a fun, cute gift shop. Lovely selection of gifts. My favourite place in Reading for Jellycats! They can order-in for you, the staff are so lovely; I always stop here when going to Reading Town Centre. Definitely recommend!

A caveat: I visited in 2016, so my review is just a bit old. And yet here I am, writing this seven years later, because this afternoon I found myself thinking “What was the name of that amazing gift and stationary store in Reading? I f*cking loved that place. I want to go back the next time I’m in the UK.” As an American who feels ✨seen and understood✨ by British humor, But Is It Art was a veritable cornucopia of products that can’t be found in the US. A wondrous treasure trove of profanity-laden, sarcastic stationery. My husband at the time had to drag me out. I spent more money there than I did anywhere else in the UK. They remain my favorite souvenirs. Anyway, it’s fantastic. Highly recommend.
