The staff at this store is the best! I bought a coat then returned it (it was great I was just gifted another one). They were equally as patient and helpful with the complicated return as they were with the purchase. Everyone in the store knows a lot about the gear and is really friendly without being pushy. Some of their outdoor clothing is brilliantly engineered - not cheap though. You can get a lot of use out of cleverly designed outdoor clothing

Went above and beyond resolving ill fitting ski boots, very knowledgeable, patient and pulled out all the stops to adjust my boots. Credit where credit is due, the staff at this Ellis Brigham store are a credit to this company. Highly recommended .

I spoke to two staff members who were very friendly and knowledgeable. I had questions about a particular brand comparing two items of different warmths for outdoor long walks. They were both knowledgeable about the products I was interested in and were happy to recommend. I would happily return should I need advice or want to try on an item.

We used this shop for the first time last Tuesday - wish we had been before. My husband needed walking boots, I needed a waterproof jacket. Great range of stock. The service was brilliant - she really knew the stock, went to a huge amount of effort and we left feeling really impressed. Will definitely be back, thank you.

Incredibly knowledgeable staff who were very willing to share their expertise with me and help me choose a pair of walking boots. They got me on a measuring machine that was able to provide a very accurate sizing of my feet and arch profile, from which they were able to recommend several pairs of boots that would be a good match (and all were). They ordered in a pair I liked in a size they didn't have, with no obligation to purchase, allowing me to test them out first. They seemed un-phased when I mentioned that I didn't like the colour they stocked in-store, pointing me to the website (many shops would have pushed for the in-store sale). I had confidence that every product they had for sale was of good quality, allowing me to then just focus on their relative differences. Will definitely return.

It feels like this store is some kind of a disaster: no plan or scheme at all. Things are separated by brand and that's all, hence it's difficult to understand where womens clothes are, where mens, where unisex. No signs at all. Is it expected that I can understand that by looking at the jacket or brand name or colour? Not sure. Because of the above, I'd say that it's impossible to find anything. This needs some logical and reasonable approach to separate clothes in correct groups.

Similar to the previous reviewer, went for the first time yesterday, and wished I'd been before. I didn't catch the name of the guy who helped me (Tall, young), but his service was top notch. Helped me get some perfect fit walking boots (the terrex ones, over the the too narrow salomon's) and couple of other things. This will be my first port of call for outdoor stuff in the future.

As a couple we have just completed our purchase of two new pairs of ski boots . Not our first , but our first from ellisbrigham . We were assisted by Alex and Tom , and the level of knowledge and service they both gave us was outstanding ! Alex in particular had fantastic product knowledge and guided us both through all the boot options , ordering a range for us to try on , the fitting process was amazing and we have come away with two great pairs of boots . We both work in retail and the level of service , not selling was amazing . They truly understood the value of listening to the customer and suggesting the best products to suit our needs . Truly celebrity service ! If you need ski boots , don’t waste your time going elsewhere, book your boot fitting with Alex and Tom and you will not be disappointed . Thank you 🙏

Professional and thorough service. Just bought my new climbing shoes and am very satisfied with the staff's knowledge and patience. Only a pity they don't have a little section of climbing wall (even just footholds) to test shoes properly - it would really take very little and add a lot.

I visited today and the level of service was very low. First of all the women had no knowledge what they were selling and for what prices. More even I was recommended to visit other shop in Cambridge for cyclists to find down jacket. Do no expect any serious advice from them about more advanced issues. I was treated like an annoyance and a problem for asking questions when two employees were chatting between each other. Then the guy instead advice was claiming that there are no discount no Black Friday sales and that I am wrong about how heat is working in heated jackets, perfect example of arrogance and lack of knowledge. Luckily I found great down jacket they had in the shop Mountain Equipment Trango, but I wont buy it there because of the poor level of service. I found the same jacket online but much cheaper.

We had the help of Art in store to get gear for a family member for the Arctic. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. I then used Alex on the phone to get more Arctic gear and he also was equally helpful and knowledgeable .

Came in to make an exchange, but the size needed wasnt available. Rupert served us and took the time to ask other stores with great customer service :). He was very helpful and gave us lots of options!

Visited twice this week - gearing up for a multi-day hike. I found both young men who served me very knowledgeable, unfortunately I didn't keep any names. I was offered any amount of help by the first chap, including a card for the store and the offer to order in anything I needed in multiple sizes to ensure I could find a fit. His attitude prompted me to revisit once I'd figured out what gear I needed. Today I visited with the intent to spend a fair chunk of cash on a full layering system. Initially the second young man was very helpful, and clearly very knowledgeable. But he then seemed to lose interest in my business and refocussed on putting up a tent in the middle of the shop floor with two other members of staff - this after I'd asked him for some more help and told him I was ready to purchase. I was fuming about being left unattended in a, frankly, very quiet shop. After a few minutes waiting to purchase I walked and will be purchasing elsewhere. A real pity considering that the hard work had been done by Ellis Brigham.
