    Fairly standard branch that is on the border of Balls in and Shipley. I tend to only buy things from here when they do their bank holiday sales or when there's good cash back otherwise the goods here are really expensive compared to other companies like Screwfix. Some of the staff here are really good and some of the staff here really haven't got a clue about the goods that are for sale it is a bit potluck who you get. Interestingly on this particular visit we were served by someone who seem to have forgotten how to smile. So, lots of choice but pricey and a mediocre customer service experience. Screwfix is 5 minutes down the road.

    A really bad experience at the Shipley/Basildon store. I went into store on Sunday and booked a appointment with the kitchen design team for Tuesday and then when we arrived on Tuesday no appointment was booked due to the error of the staff which is very unprofessional also no one from the design team was there which was strange as usually when you go to a showroom there’s always someone there to assist. So in the end we ended up going with b&q as we received great customer service even though we was planning on getting the kitchen from wicked prior to this. Wickes Lost a customer 😀

    Very Helpfuly staff, A wide selection of building products good quality stuff. It may not be the cheapest but who wants to trail on a 20 mile trip to save £5...not me cheers guys.

    I would like to give a big thank you to wicks for the outstanding customer service today 3rd December the gentleman who helped my daughter was amazing he gave good advice he had a lovely chat with my daughter who had just left Screwfix in tears after the staff were rude & confrontational our daughter is recovering from major surgery and was extremely distressed. However having visited wicks and the kindness and service meant a great deal. I spoke to Omar who said he would escalate to his Manager Brenn. I hope that member of staff who was so kind will be recognised for his customer service & kindness. Not just by the store also the area manager he deserves to have some recognition for outstanding service.

    Excellent customer service by “Amar” . Nice to actually walk in to a shop with a problem and have the staff actually want to help and not be so robotic. Keep up the good work.

    Polite and very helpful staff. Did not have to wait for service. Good range of laminate flooring with free delivery over £76 and a promise of a quick delivery. Took away four samples at £2 each with a promise of a refund on return. Prices competitive.

    Wickes have been no help with my situation, their York White tiles are really bad quality. Check the product page reviews and there are loads of similar complaints. Here is a copy of my complaint to Wickes which was dismissed... I don't usually like to make complaints but I have had a massive headache with some tiles I bought from your Shipley store. I've never had issues with Wickes tiles before but I ordered York White tiles delivered and have had nothing but issues. The main issue is that the tiles are not flat. Some of them are better than others, but between the centre and the edge, there's 3.2mm difference on some of them, some of them are also not perfectly square. When I started tiling, I noticed pretty sharpish. But I tried to make it work anyway by overlapping at 3rds rather than half and half, because half was really obvious. At that point I really do wish I had stopped and returned them to store, but without transport I had these delivered from your Shipley store, and urgently needed a working bathroom again. Over the course of the fitting, I kept having issues from the tiles being not flat, it became really difficult to work around the windowsill which with flat tyres would have been so easy. I had to use an excessive amount of adhesive in the middle. I usually pride myself on my tiling but on this occasion I'm really not happy with the outcome. On Sunday it was time to grout. The tiles are a off-white colour, and the grout I got delivered is dark grey which I really wanted, but it would make all the uneven faces stand out even more. I took the grout to your Shipley store to explain to the staff and try swap it for a lighter colour, but they would not let me as it has been over 28 days. I was also considering swapping the most uneven tiles with some more, so I looked round the store. At this point I saw that the very tiles I had ordered were all being sold at £5 a box. They're marked as "faulty tiles" in the store. I have taken a photo but it won't let me upload here, but I can send to you. I checked the tiles on the pallet and they were the same as mine, not flat! I believe I have also been sent the faulty tiles from the same batch. I really wish I had returned them. I wanted to get in touch to see what can be done. I paid full price for these tiles. But in all honesty I am unhappy with it and would prefer to start again with replacements, or if flat ones are not available, some others from the store. These are shocking! Further research brings me to the reviews on the product page itself. There are lots of 1 star reviews with the same issue! I wish I had seen these before I ordered. They are not up to Wickes usual standard.

    Don't go to this store for DIY advice -especially if you're female. The alleged expert is rude, patronising and doesn't listen when you're trying to explain the issue. He seemed irritated at being asked to help and his advice was no better than what I already knew. Waste of time.

    Trusting in Andy a customer centric friendly helpful and kind staff member engaged and encouraged me to always go back…todays visit was the polar opposite and one which driven me to all the other competitors in the immediate area…an innocuous question if any staff could help that may have some knowledge of washers for a tap was met with hostile disinterested attitude from a woman who halfway through my helpful feedback on maybe a helpline or someone with some knowledge, as with Andy would be good to tell HO, she didn’t even listen she walked off not even finding anyone to try and help. While this was a small spend we were in the same visit looking for two bathroom suites and fitting as l had been told by a colleague in London…not now though…the manager I accidentally spoke to did nothing but share his colleague had managed to make negative commentary about this customer but no attempt to say…possible…can you help the customer…who needs this hostility when Wickes have no USP, staff usually pick up knowledge to help customers, as with all the other stores we visited near by did…no bad attitude no hostility no rude staff…so next time you want anything Wickes instead go to one of their many competitors where knowledge or an attempt to find out exists and you end up getting the right item with a smile 😊 not left with a bitter taste and feeling upset by the unfriendly hostility…HO get your staff to get it together and not drive business away…instead you’ve lost out on a sizeable spend and all those readers who go where staff care to help them…

    Needing to mend an old and fast dripping Wickes kitchen tap, I was greeted cheerfully by staff at the entrance desk who called their tap expert. He explained that the model was no longer in production. He showed me the version currently available and then generously gifted 2 small parts to try, as a good will gesture. These have fixed our old tap but we will most certainly be buying from Wickes again and again. The service we have received has always been kind and efficient . Thank you Shipley team!
