We have been to Ness Woods a number of times. There are various entrances, we now park at the main one as it is a sort walk to the play park and has toilet facilities. There is also disabled parking available. They are continuing to add more picnic areas from the car park right along the path by the park. They also have picnic tables in the park that are under a roof, which is great if you get caught out in the rain or need a break from the sun. Toilets are disabled access and have baby changing table. The walk through the woods is lovely however, there are areas with steps therefore we would use a baby harness instead of a pram when our son was younger.

A lovely park with enjoyable walks of various inclines and abilities. The walk over and around the waterfall is lovely. Well worth a visit. Another location to add to the list in Derry and Donegal where you can get away from the noise and hassle to have a nice cup of tea in the fresh air.

Figure out when the waterfall is at its fullest in order to best appreciate. Really clean toilets at the car park and frequented, safe, multi-skilled trails.

Lovely walk, playpark and picnic area. Free parking - recommend driving down to the second car park so you don't have to walk back up the hill at the end

A wonderful hidden gem. Stunning scenery and a good mix of easy or more challenging walks. The highlights are the rapids and waterfall, though: fantastic. Great for the whole family

Nice place for short or longer walk in the forest, in very warm day you can hidden between trees so no feel heat that much. Forest also protect from strong wing. Few benches that you can sit and relax, listening sound of river or birds. Definitely recommend.

A brilliant place, well kept and a brilliant walk way path with waterfalls. Been going to this place for 25 years and the memories I have made here are precious, everytime I go, there is a place in the river where you can stand in the rocks (albeit unsafely) This is where my gran made paper boats and let us run through the shallow water after them. This is a special place 😊

Absolutely loved it even though everything was soaked and rightly so it’s mid winter will definitely come back summer time great wee playpark for the kids very woodsy. The evry wood walk is a great wee walk would however like to see more fences along the river side just for safety with small kids and another minus I suppose is there was dogs let into the playpark it should be fenced off along with the piece of green my kids ran to the car as soon as the seen 6 dogs run into the playpark and bark at them

I paid a visit here a couple of weeks before this visit though didn't go far as I was alone. However on this recent visit I had company and I have to say I really enjoyed the walk around the forest. There are picnic tables and wooden seats along the way to enjoy. A playground for children, toilets on hand which are really good. A visitor centre albeit still closed due to the cronovirus outbreak. In due course it will be open again. Before the walk two very kind rangers approached me and handed me a map of the country park and explained to me that there were actually two forests to choose from. There are red squirrels and some different animals to be seen if one is fortunate enough 🐿️ Some nice waterfalls to view on route and the babbling of water running through just adds to the character of the park. A good place for dogs to roam and take a swim in the water 💦🐕

It was 20 degrees, didn't see anyone else there. This was a very peaceful hike. Some hills and stairs

Ness wood is a delightful, well laid out and airy big park. Lots of trails to follow but the main attraction is the magnificent gushing waterfall. Toilets on site, clean and safe. Good parking and wheelchair friendly. Opted for the gorge walk up to the waterfall and it got the heart pumping 🙂

Beautiful place to walk. The natural beauty is unmatched and there are paths laid out with maps to follow, so it’s a great day out for all the family. There are flat paths and steeper paths, so you have options on what you would prefer to walk.
