I went to this school and left in 2015. Honestly, avoid this school at ALL costs. I had multiple teachers (especially in maths and science) tell me on a regular basis that I wasn't smart enough to get an A grade, I had teachers embarrass me in front of my entire class when I didn't understand something, and they NEVER cared when I was seriously struggling with my mental health at 14 even when they knew what was going on. I got zero support. From what I've seen and heard about the school now, I can gather that they haven't changed. I can even admit myself, the English department is amazing and is the only shining light at Ninestiles. They were the only ones who encouraged me while I was there. However, if you care about the education and well-being of your child in the slightest, please DO NOT send them here. There are many, far better schools in Birmingham. Edit: I never "provoked" a teacher. I was actually a really quiet student. Brushing off my review as fake proves that nobody wants to listen to the honest experiences of real students who were under Ninestiles' care for 5 years. Just accept that some teachers at Ninestiles DID embarrass students. Some teachers DID berate us without provocation if we didn't understand something (even the quiet ones!) If your gut reaction is to blame students for every negative reaction from a teacher, then you're very naive, your ideas are old-fashioned, and it further proves my point about the type of teachers you find at this school. I never "deserved" to be insulted by adults without reason.

WORST SCHOOL IN BIRMINGHAM. This is not even a school, it should be called a prison or an army camp. They have have unrealistic expectations for their students. They expect silence in corridors and for a single word or laugh they give out detentions(c2). In class rooms the students are expected to be statues, no moving or talking, if they could ban breathing they would. The behavior teachers exaggerate everything and bully the students, they only punish , and for silly reasons instead of providing support. The students are not given a voice what so ever. My son has had 100 c2’s this term for no plausible reason: dropping a tissue on the floor, running in the play ground during break and lunch and moving the chair when sat in lesson to see the whiteboard better.... I COULD GO ON AND ON. Due to the depressing school environment my 3 sons HATE going to school and arrive late everyday. The school makes their students unhappy and unmotivated for education. They have devistated my son and many many other students in the school. They want to wipe away their confidence because all the teachers do is emotionally harass them. They never reward students or give out a single certificate to create a positive environment so students can feel proud of their achievements. Disgusting. Do NOT sent your child here unless you want them to experience hell.

Detentions for talking in the corridor between lessons..... This is a rule of a prison camp not a school and every student have the right to freedom of speech in class or between lessons. Definitely something that could affect the confidence of a young person in future life. Staff can be very rude at times and lie about the contact they have had from a parent about the information regarding their child. Very disappointed at there lack of understanding this school and the staff within have for others. After calling and speaking to a very up tight and rude pa.... I asked if my child has freedom of speech within the school but she wouldn't answer my question after I said this call was being recorded..... She ended the conversation and put the phone down...... Which is not good at all they have just provoked the issue not solved it.

Fozia who is in charge of careers really knows how to arrange a Careers Fair. So many external exhibitors in attendance and so many parents attending with their children - lovely atmosphere, well executed and it was doubly nice to be offer food as it was an evening event. Ninestiles School have a really good asset in their Careers Advisor!! She's a keeper!!!

The event was very well planned and communication before the event was detailed and relevant. The staff actively signposted students and parents to the providers stands and provided support if required. The students who I spoke to were very engaged and were taking the opportunity to look at a range of options and making applications. I look forward to support future events in school. Thanks, Marcia Roberts- Grey BMet

Careers Event - 20 October 2021 Welcoming staff, polite students, well organised event with plenty of varied options. It was great to see so many students and their parents and I enjoyed speaking with Year 9, 10 and 11 students about their next step plans. Well done Ninestiles, a great event all round.

First time I've been to Ninestiles School an Academy and I was made very welcome the minute I signed in. Delivered a presentation to all of Year 11's in their morning assembly and the interaction off the floor was fantastic! Thanks for inviting me Fozia, looking forward working with you and your pupils in the near future.

I had a wonderful time at this school today delivering an Employability talk for the Year 11 students! The staff (particularly the Head of Careers) and students were so welcoming and it was a real pleasure to talk to them. I look forward to visiting the school again soon!
