Fantastic environment with food to match. Had an amazing evening tonight. The whole team was so friendly and everything was about providing a great experience. It's been added to our very small list of places to go again.

We went to Ember last night. I've been meaning to try the place for a while (after having moved out of London not too long ago, and missing restaurants that aren't pubs, which are common in Northants). The staff are great, very friendly and there are a lot (or enough) of them to mean you're never waiting long if you want another drink etc. or the bill. The owner is clearly very passionate about what the restaurant is, the food and how it feels to be in the space - which I am here for. The food is fab - very good quality ingredients, and the smokiness is lovely (the octopus picks it up especially well). Plates come out as they are made but at the right speed if that makes sense. The only (slight) irk was the Flat Iron steak being fridge cold in the middle. I understand its hard to get a rare steak warm all the way through, but it isn't impossible (perhaps this is down to the cooking method - it's all over coal/wood in a fire pit). The cost is representative of the quality of the food (and so is good value) - but its not a cheap meal (and it shouldn't be for the quality). For two, with a couple of drinks and 7 plates (which was probably one too many for us), it was around £140. Go! NB - Be mindful of the (fair) cancellation policy (which is buried at the end of a slab of text on the booking form as you're looking at filling the form out, you may miss it like I did). Open Table want to put this in bold/red or something, but it is there.

Ember is a wonderful restaurant and ticks all the boxes. It's a unique small plate bbq restaurant with quality food and excellent service. We arrived for lunch and sat at the counter in front the bbq grill where we could see our food being prepared and cooked on the charcoal fire. You can also chat to the chefs Dave and Hannah about the food on the menu. Today we were served from the new Spring menu which was delicious and inspiring. We ordered the flat iron steak which was served rare as to our liking. The baby patatas bravas were delicious and we had a generous portion, The swede was cooked overnight in the embers and served with a tasty Mole sauce. The lamb bacon taco was full of flavour and beautifully garnished. A treat for teyes and palate. To end our lunch we ordered Hannah's amazing Burnt Basque cheesecake which was melt in the mouth paradise! Even better than the cheesecakes we'd sampled on holiday in San Sebastian last summer. The staff here are friendly and welcoming. Kaiya did an excellent job of looking after us and making sure we had everything we needed. She is an asset to this restaurant and also makes wonderful Espresso Martinis. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ember to anyone looking for a unique and memorable dining experience. It's a restaurant you can keep returning to serving beautifully presented high quality delicious food. Well done to all the team at Ember. You rock! 😊👍

I nipped in at lunch time on the off-chance that we could grab some food without a booking. We were blown away by how nice the staff were, how nice restaurant is and how incredible the food was! This place is a hidden gem, and if you enjoy eating quality food then you have to try for yourself. The open-table style, where you can see chef's at work and also chat to them is brilliant. An all-round brilliant experience... thank you! If you go, make sure you try the pork collar, it's amazing!

We had an amazing lunch here, and I could not fault a thing. Food was outstanding and we really enjoyed watching it be prepared. The choice and options available were great. The sticky toffee pudding is the best I've ever eaten! As was the beef! Service and friendliness of the staff made the experience top notch. We will definitely be returning.

Outstanding food with some truly amazing flavours. I always order an extra dish for the table when I can’t quite decide what to choose from, at Ember I honestly think i will have to work my way through the entire menu on a number of sittings as all the food stood out with a massive invitation to try. To top it all off it’s seems to be a family run business so the passion for perfection is evident with their level of service and attention to detail. The young waitress was absolutely incredible, enthusiastic to explain the dishes and pleasant to talk to, dining is not just about the food it’s about the whole experience and Ember really ticks all the boxes, can’t wait to return. Highly recommended the Norwegian doughnuts for the complete indulgence experience (see photo)

A wonderful friendly and warm greeting started off our evening along with a card on our table congratulating us on our anniversary. A fabulous start to our evening and it just got better and better with the exceptional food. A refreshingly new dining experience that is becoming the talk of the town.

Had to smile at a previous review when someone complained about smelling of smoke and bbq when he left; given that this restaurant uses an open, log fuelled BBQ to cook on why did they go? I have now been once and my wife twice and it is BRILLIANT! We had 4 plates to share between us (sorry the belly pork and hasselback potato dishes didn't get photographed as we were too busy eating) This is something a bit different and a bit special.

A really great place with a very unique menu, great atmosphere and super friendly and welcoming staff. Loved the whole experience. The ceviche was delicious. Also absolutely loved the cauliflower tacos. Would definitely return when I come back up to visit my friend 😀

Had a fantastic time many thanks. Nice touch with the happy anniversary card when arriving. All the staff where excellent we engaged with bar, floor, chefs and kitchen staff just about everyone and they all represented Ember magnificently. Loved seeing the food being cooked and was all delicious. Stand outs were the cauliflower taco, carrots and sticky toffee pudding. Definitely got value for money. Will definitely be back Many thanks team Ember.

A Hidden gem. Set on the site of the Original Wellingborough Gas Light Co the place has been very well restored, similar to Coal Drops yard in Kings Cross. The restaurant offers an eclectic mix of barbecued foods. Each is handmade to order and taste surprisingly, good. Good range of drinks and well-made cocktails. Convenient and plenty of car parking

We went in for lunch because we noticed it was new. In short the food is absolutely incredible. I’ve had some good meals at some nicer restaurants and this place is better than all of them. The food is BBQ tapas with a selection of meat, vegetables and fish. The menu is small but they have very clearly worked hard on perfecting the dishes on it. It’s not very big so if you plan going for dinner would be worth booking a table.

We drove quite far out to try Ember and it was defiantly worth it. Food was great. Cooked on a open fire, you can really taste the char on the meat and it works well with the extra items on the plate. You can either choose what items you want or you can go with a set menu. We chose what we wanted which worked well. If you are looking for a nice date night out or something like that, defo worth the try. We will be back!

Celebrated my partner's birthday here and it was AMAZING! Staff were super friendly and professional. The food's amazing and reasonably priced. The ambiance is really good, background music is not too overwhelming, and they also have a thoughtful card for my partner! Overall, highly recommended! Will definitely come back again.

Creative Quality. Fantastic. Date: 8 October We visited for our son's birthday as a party of 5 adults and a toddler and had a fabulous time. The food was simply fantastic. Everyone enjoyed all the various dishes without any caveats. The quality of the ingredients and the way the individual dishes are created is perfect. The service was very good, everyone was proffessional, happy, informative and always attentive. I would, and have since visiting, highly recommend Ember.

The food was nice and the staff were friendly. A good experience however we just weren’t impressed as much as we thought we would be, unfortunately, and in our expectations not being met the prices didn’t seem justifiable. We wouldn’t return.

Everything was amazing but the pork belly was just exceptional. And the sticky toffee pudding desert was just perfect. Everything was freshly prepared . Will definitely be coming back and will recommend to everyone .

Who knew one of the best restaurants in the country could be found in a business park in Wellingborough? We can't rave about Ember enough: the pork belly is a work of art, the lamb tacos are enough to make me take up residence there and the only problem is that if you, like me, are greedy and have terrible food fomo (their menu changes weekly with some of the classics always available) you will eat until you can't (and don't want to) leave. So many BBQ restaurants rest on their laurels with BBQ sauce, pulled pork and brisket. Not here; Ember is a lesson in honouring quality ingredients with a beautiful, creative skill. I want to eat everything on the menu. The beers from local Three Hills Brewing are fantastic too

We were greeted with enthusiasm and warmth and shown to our table promptly. The menu is a mix of small dishes and we were told its like tapas but barbecued food. We ordered a mix of dishes and shared them all. It was so much fun working through a good selection from the menu and getting to try so much, rather than picking one main meal. It was like a little food tasting adventure. My favourite items were the steak and the king scallop. The scallop was on a smokey bed of hay, still in the shell and was cooked to perfection. The steak and juices it was in was just so full of flavour I could have just had that and been happy. My husband loved the Pork collar and Argentinian potatoes. We had two rounds of savoury dishes (6 plates in total) and then desserts. I think 4 plates would have been better but it was just too hard to resist and we rarely get out so got a bit excited. We have not been so stuffed in a long time, but it was so worth it. I want to go back, I need to try the items on the menu we didn't choose. Exceptional food, relaxed atmosphere and more of an experience than most restaurants. A great gem of a place and such a real treat to have nearby. Well done guys, the hard work and passion really shows.
