First time here, pass by and decided to walk in and see what's like to be in Sotheby's. And I am glad that I did, my experience was wonderful, saw lots jewelry and arts soon to be auction off. Some are belong to Marie Antoinette. They offer drinks and coffee to all guests not discriminating if you are a buyer or not which is very nice.

Came here on the Thursday 10th August to see the Freddy Mercury collection that was taking place. The exhibition it’s self was stunning however on arrival the extremely rude guard was insisting on me leaving my bag with the reception staff whom when I spoke with them and explained I was carrying medication that was vital to my health they let me through. However when through many other people had bags, so I assume being dressed in casual attire made them think I didn’t look the “right type” to be in the building or something. The next issue was the fact that despite using a walking aid and having used the lifts to get up and down there was another rude security guard that insisted he wouldn’t let me through and I had to go up some stairs then down the other stairs to exit at the back. I explained I couldn’t do the stairs and had just come back down in the lift. He proceeded in a very rude and argumentative manner to tell me that I could go up in the lift them down the stairs to get out. Again someone else had gone out the front way which was the only disabled access however I figured that clearly as I was only dressed in casual clothes or something that they thought I was no loss to the auction. I was truly upset by the way these guards treated me and my friend. I ended up getting completely lost from my partner who was made to exit the back way and walk all the easy round to find me. A beautiful exhibition that was ruined by rude staff, a lack of compassion for anyone who has a disability and very clearly judging people based on their appearance. This review has nothing to do with the exhibition of phenomenal Freddy Mercury items but is purely based on the business due to very inexperienced staff who had no empathy, experience and clearly don’t care if someone has any kind of disability etc. The first security guard when I tried to explain about my medication said it didn’t matter and I could die if I had to but I wasn’t taking it in. So the collection of items was great, really worth visiting but the whole place really needs some better trained staff and security.

Went to see the Freddie Mercury exhibition, which was fascinating. The building itself is beautiful to look at. There's a cafe attached to it, which looked nice but expensive. Unfortunately, the souvenir shop had very limited stock and lacked variety. The few items available were very pricey too: tote bag for £20 and a coffee table book for £50!

Amazing experience... attended my first auction exhibition. First time in Sotheby's too. Brilliant art, stupid pricing of course...but very enjoyable. Loved the atmosphere...art was beautifully displayed. Great seeing so many artist's works being displayed together. All staff very friendly, helpful and polite. Highly recommended.

Tiara exhibition. One of many fantastic exhibitions run by Sotheby’s. Located centrally in zone one on new Bond Street. Lovely venue. Disabled and wheelchair friendly. All displays are well lit and well spaced. Lovely staff and security workers. All displays are accompanied by clear information and scannable QR codes.

Visited specifically for the Freddie Mercury exhibition, exceeded all expectations! The most incredible day. Didn’t queue for too long and the staff were all friendly. Once in a lifetime experience to see items owned by my idol. Thank you Sotheby’s for this experience!!

Saw the exquisite and deeply moving Freddie Mercury exhibition. Queued for about 1hr beforehand (this was on a weekday, 11am). Inside, Sotheby's had carefully recreated parts of his Kensington home. Highlights for me: Freddie's outfits, his bookcase, Japanese art and personal photos. Dont be put off by the long queue, this is the best exhibition in London right now!

Great gallery and lovely exhibition when we went. But the shining star was the doorman. If it wasn’t for him, we never would have even stepped through the door!

An interesting alternative to a visit to a gallery. Sotheby's is of course an internationally famous auctioneer. When one of their sales is coming up, they put everything on display for the dealers and those with deep pockets to consider. Content will depend on the sale of course, but there are always some treasures. When I visited you could see old master drawings, sculpture, a collection of European paintings and more. And unlike galleries, these all have price estimates, so you can see how much you'd have to pay to take something home, eye watering amounts usually. On sale day you witness an atmosphere more exciting than most west end plays. ("It's down to you, sir, at sixteen million, four hundred thousand..."). Some people have a lot of cash! And if I had a couple of mill spare, I could make that space at the top of the stairs really interesting... Hmm...

Visited today to see the Freddie Mercury 'A World of His Own' exhibition prior to the auction which begins on 6th September. Amazing insight into a rock legends private and on stage possessions. Set in 14 rooms over two floors, a unique opportunity for a limited time only. Toilets, cloakroom and cafe at location also.

Was here to see the Freddie Mercury exhibition which in itself was amazing and totally worth queuing for, we arrived about midday and waited just under two hours to get in. The queue was fast moving and the staff were so upbeat and friendly. The building is stunning and clean and the exhibition was set out so well, staff were extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. To top it all off it was a free exhibition! The cafe was also nice although it was quite busy and it is quite small and there isn’t loads of seating. We had sweet treats and a drink to go, all delicious, slightly more on the pricy side but probably much the same as most places in that area.

We visited Sotheby’s in September 2023…the great first day of the „Freddie Mercury“ evening sale. An evening to remember….fantastic atmosphere and the most important point was, that the stuff was so pleasant, nice and lovely….

Visited the Freddie Mercury pre auction exhibition. Long queue moved quickly, well worth the wait. Superbly presented. Well laid out and plenty of information. Helpful staff. Great idea by Sotheby's.

What a privilege to see such a vast collection of antiques up for auction in a few days. The contemporary tables are by British artist.

Visited a couple of weeks back for Freddie Mercury exhibition. First visit to Sothebys as well, I was really impressed with everything. Very well organised, the staff we're helpful. It was facinating to see a personal part of his life up close.

I went to view the Freddie Mercury exhibition. The queue was long but moved quickly. The organisation was excellent and you were given the time to view the exhibits but were gently persuaded to move along.
