Appalling. Genuinely terrifying how this place runs. You're assessed by a Doctor (who was wonderful) but then a committee that you never see meets to discuss your 'case' and then dash you off, presumably because they've satisfied their quota. Utterly horrendous. I had hope for all of 24 hours that I'd been heard only to have my heart torn out by these faceless ghouls. I will continue to seek treatment for my illness, I'm not ashamed of it but this place? A disgrace in my experience. How many have they failed?

I've been referred to and seen by Bridgewell House twice (soon to be 3, but I have no hope for it, given my last 2 experiences and after reading that the same thing happens to other people), and I had precisely the same experience as the other text review at the time of writing this ("The Danny Buckler Show"). From my 2 experiences, you get seen by a doctor or nurse, who questions you in depth about the whole circumstances of your life and your mental health history, and then what you're currently struggling with. You do get to really open up to them and it does give some hope, but then it only ends up being false hope, as will become apparent. The next stage is that they write a letter summarising your "case" based on notes they took during the conversation. They discuss your "case" with a committee - who never see you and only hear about you from brief notes written by the one person who spoke to you - and the result is always no further action, "you don't meet our threshold for support". The summary letter gets sent to you in the post and after my first referral, I thought the letter was very misconstrued and poorly summarised in how it saw my problem, and I felt very misunderstood and let down, and there were grammatical and syntax errors too, but you could call this more pendantic. Anyway, I am appalled by this place.

Absolutely horrendous. I arranged a meeting when I found out data had been processed without a lawful basis by people I had never met. I arrived promptly. The SAbP worker Emily arrived 5 minutes late, hadn’t booked a room, didn’t bring the data. We met in a waiting room which was disturbed repeatedly. I asked for a copy of my data. This was reported as I was fixated. I then found out she had lied about the nature of the meeting telling colleagues she was getting me to a meeting on false pretences. I terminated the meeting. I was later threatened by an AMPH from Surrey County Council who said the women from Bridgewell house has said the meeting went badly and she thought there was a risk of self harm. He advised if I didn’t agree to an assessment he would force entry to my home and place me in a secure unit for an assessment. I have never suffered with mental il health or a mental disorder. This male Andrew terrified me. I1 months later I’m in trauma counselling privately as a result of the harm they caused. Avoid SAbP at all costs. They harm people and destroy lives.

I’m not going to share details of my experience with these people except to say that it was bad. These people should be ashamed of the “service” they provide. I am currently in a state of shock about how I was treated and my therapist is appalled. The other reviews here reflect my experience perfectly. These people should be ashamed of themselves and this facility should be closed down. Avoid this place with all your might. Seriously.

Horrific !! Going beyond just negligence into actually malicious and abusive behaviour towards patients and their families. Needs to be properly investigated.

Personally I wouldn’t rate this facility at all. Receptionist are condescending and rude, lacking compassion and knowledge of how importance their role is. My mother has been severely mentally unwell for 25 years. Up until last year she was a patient of unither house and dr ging however when this psychiatrist retired so did the help for my mother. At this point my mother is having a mental episode as she hasn’t been medicated for her illness in over a year. This means she’s hitting and abusing loved ones and bridgewell house have round about made it clear that she can do so and get away with it with no intervention of her mental state. For over a year now myself, father, brother and other key people of our family, gps, police etc have contacted and referred her to be under the care of bridgewell house regarding our concerns however without being properly contacted or accessed she keeps being discharged. This is a complete spit in the face to anyone having to deal with my mother as she is completely unbearable and can barely hold a conversation. dr zafar one of the psychiatrists informed us that you can recover from an illness such as this however history tells me that this is not the case and after 25 years of suffering with skitzophrenia there seems to be no signs of recovery. This is an ongoing battle with no assistance from the mental health recovery team and I can assure my family will be persistent in getting their patient the help she needs and deserves.
