Me and my son go on a regular basis. He absolutely loves all of the animals, actually a very good variety for a small charity. The animals are well loved and cared for by all of the volunteers, such amazing effort put it by all involved (not one of them are paid staff!!) Clean toilets, very good prices for event days and small donation entry on non event days... Not many places you can go for this cheap nowadays! I always recommend Northcote Heavy Horse Centre to all of my animal loving friends!!!

A lovely sanctuary for a variety of animals/birds. On-site cafe, with some vegan options. A good family outing. It took us about 2 hours to get around.

Lovely friendly welcome All the volunteers are helpful and full of information about the animals. You are encouraged to walk round and pet the animals. Food is available to buy in the shop for the pigs and goats and ducks, geese, chickens. There are many displays and hands-on experience for all ages. For example: grooming the heavy horses or walking the ferrets. Look in the cafe for freshly made/cooked snacks and selection of cold/hot drinks. A very enjoyable day for all the family.

Had a fun day, good horse show and a few stalls, also had archery, axe throwing, birds of prey and the chance to hold some snakes

Lovely horses, being cared for, need more support to look after these beautiful animals. We adopted two today, costs as little as Β£12 per year or can pay whatever you want per month. Also have other animals all who through no fault of there own were rescued to prolong their life by the lady who has given them a home on her farm. It's free to get in, but obviously would appreciate a donation. Pretty easy to get to, they will do displays with the horses when covid restrictions allow them to do so.

It was very different from what the advert and advertising leaflet shows. It looked run down and in need of a rebuild. Horses ,, goats, owl,,chickens, budgies, ferrets, dagu , llama and ponies all looked in good condition and happy. Free admission but donations accepted. Small animal charity. This place has themed days through year like medieval jousting. Feed the goats, chickens and pigs small bags of feed 30p each .

Found the whole thing very disappointing 😞 went expecting the whole heavy horse experience all seems to be very slap dash and not very forthcoming with information all we got was all we ask for is a donation wasn't really told where to go or what to expect from our visit. Signage needs to be clearer too, we we're stroking the horses when we walked away we were then told by the staff oh actually your my allowed over there she did say it was her fault she'd left the entrance open but we didn't know obviously being brought up around horses I'm not stupid but not everyone may have realized. Shame really we left not long after that. Just seemed very unorganized I would have thought opening at 11am everything would be ready to rock and roll. Bit more communication would be great if your running late or point people in the right direction ie: go have a cup of tea in our tea room the horses are going to be brought up soon nope nothing.

A fantastic day out, for children and adults, A place for rescued animals to live out the rest of there lives with lots of love given to them by everybody involved with them. It is charity run, they don't charge entrance fee, but ask if you do can to give an donation. They put on a medieval day, some of horses helped out that could. Please visit and give them as much as you can. They have a wonderful little cafe. Lovely snacks and very friendly people running it.

Fantastic place. We've been a couple of times with the grandkids and there's always something for them to do. Walking the llama, playing with the ferrets, grooming the horses - there's always something going on. Well worth a visit.

Hidden little gem. Kids loved there day, ponies & Horses to groom, ferrets to play with, llama to walk plus plenty of other animals and birds to see. All very well looked after and cared for.Pity they can only open certain days but understand it's all run by volunteers and no paid staff and people have there own lives. Free entry but ask for donations if possible and with so many mouths to feed not sure how they manage. Lovely little cafe as well.

This place is amazing - run entirely by eager and helpful volunteers. It’s also free entry. They only ask for donations to help the animals. A great day out! The kids (2 and 4) walked ferrets and llamas and loved the whole day - as did I at 65!!!!

We had a wonderful first visit. The place is staffed entirely by volunteers, working tirelessly for the good of all the animals there. There is no fixed entrance fee as they only ask for donations, but every single penny goes back to the welfare of the animals. The staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable about the animals, and willing to talk and answer questions. Just as a bonus... the cafe was lovely and very reasonably priced and the volunteers in there couldn't do more for us. The little gift shop was also very reasonably priced

Went for the HOCUS POCUS film. The barn and venue was fabulously decorated for Halloween. There were plenty of food for sale too.

A lovely gem to find. Only a small place but it doesn't need to be bigger. You can tell they love and care about their animals. They seriously need more help! We had a wonderful day visiting, we got to groom the ponies, walk a llama, feed the pigs and even hold an owl! We spent a few hours here, had a picnic and just relaxed. Can't recommend this place enough.

It was absolutely slinging it down the day we went and so we did not see the site at its best. The place is run by volunteers who are all very friendly and knowledgeable. We still managed a nice visit that our grandchildren loved and there was no admission fee, although quite rightly they ask for a donation as they are a charity. The children got to groom and stroke two massive horses and a Shetland pony so they were happy. Due to the weather conditions most of the activities were curtailed and the animals were inside their protective pens, so there were no walking the animal experiences, etc. The tea room was reasonably cheap and the hot drinks were of the large variety, not a silly cup. I'm glad we went and would go again but only in dry weather.

Was a bit dissapionted myself aa it was reccomended by a friend to be great but wasnt much to see at all. It was free entry which was nice and weather wasnt good so we will visit again when weather is better to give it another chance. Staff friendly

Very lovely place where you can feed the animals, the goats/chickens escape their pen, you can groom the horses & walk the ferrets. Lady who runs the place was very welcoming and informative. Can't wait to go back ☺️

Lovely little place, was nice to get to meet lots of different animals up close. Was able to groom and pet them too! Kids loved being able to play with the ferrets and hold the owl! Thank you for that. We will be returning!!!
